Joshua 1

NEW JERUSALEM	KÁLDI-NEOVULGÁTA
1 When Moses, servant of Yahweh, was dead, Yahweh spoke to Joshua son of Nun, Moses' adjutant. Hesaid,	1 Mózesnek, az Úr szolgájának halála után történt, hogy az Úr szólt Józsuéhoz, Nún fiához, Mózes szolgájához és ezt mondta neki:
2 'Moses my servant is dead; go now and cross this Jordan, you and this whole people, into the countrywhich I am giving to them (the Israelites).	2 »Szolgám, Mózes meghalt. Kelj fel, és menj át a Jordánon, te és veled az egész nép, arra a földre, amelyet majd Izrael fiainak adok.
3 Every place you tread with the soles of your feet I shall give you, as I declared to Moses that I would.	3 Minden helyet, amelyet lábatok tapos, nektek fogok adni, ahogy Mózesnek megmondtam.
4 From the desert and the Lebanon, to the Great River, the Euphrates (the entire country of the Hittites),and as far as the Great Sea to westward, is to be your territory.	4 A pusztától és a Libanontól egészen a nagy folyóig, az Eufráteszig – a hetiták egész földjéig –, és a napnyugati Nagy tengerig fog terjedni határotok.
5 As long as you live, no one wil be able to resist you; I shal be with you as I was with Moses; I shall notfail you or desert you.	5 Senki sem tud majd ellenállni nektek életed egész folyamán. Ahogy Mózessel voltam, úgy leszek veled is, nem maradok el tőled és nem hagylak el téged.
6 'Be strong and stand firm, for you are the man to give this people possession of the land which I sworeto their ancestors that I would give them.	6 Légy erős és bátor: te fogod kisorsolni ennek a népnek azt a földet, amellyel kapcsolatban megesküdtem atyáiknak, hogy nekik adom.
7 Only be strong and stand very firm and be careful to keep the whole Law which my servant Moses laiddown for you. Do not swerve from this either to right or to left, and then you wil succeed wherever you go.	7 Légy tehát erős és nagyon bátor, és vigyázz arra, hogy teljesítsd az egész törvényt, amelyet Mózes, az én szolgám meghagyott neked; ne térj el attól se jobbra, se balra, hogy boldogulj mindenben, amit cselekszel.
8 Have the book of this Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may careful ykeep everything that is written in it. Then your undertakings wil prosper, then you will have success.	8 Ne hiányozzék ennek a törvénynek a könyve az ajkadról! Elmélkedj róla nappal és éjjel, és vigyázz arra, hogy teljesítsd mindazt, ami abban írva van, akkor sikerrel járod utadat és boldogulsz.
9 Have I not told you: Be strong and stand firm? Be fearless and undaunted, for go where you may,Yahweh your God is with you.'	9 Megparancsolom neked: légy erős és bátor! Ne rettegj és ne félj, mert veled van az Úr, a te Istened mindenütt, bárhova mégy.«
10 Joshua then gave the people's officials this instruction:	10 Megparancsolta erre Józsue a nép elöljáróinak: »Járjátok be a tábort, s hagyjátok meg a népnek:
11 'Go through the camp and give the people this order, "Make provisions ready, for in three days' timeyou wil cross this Jordan and go on to take possession of the land which Yahweh your God is giving you as yourown." '	11 Készítsetek ennivalót magatoknak, mert három nap múlva átkeltek a Jordánon, és megkezditek annak a földnek az elfoglalását, amelyet az Úr, a ti Istenetek nektek szánt.«
12 Joshua then said to the Reubenites and Gadites and the half-tribe of Manasseh,	12 A rúbenitáknak, a gáditáknak és Manassze fél törzsének pedig ezt mondta:
13 'Remember the order given you by Moses, servant of Yahweh: Yahweh your God, in bringing you torest, has given you the land where we are.	13 »Emlékezzetek meg arról a dologról, amelyet nektek Mózes, az Úr szolgája parancsolt, amikor azt mondta: ‘Az Úr, a ti Istenetek nektek megadta már a nyugalmat, és odaadta ezt az egész földet.’
14 Your wives, your little ones and your cattle must stay in the country given you by Moses beyond theJordan. But al you fighting men must cross in battle formation at the head of your brothers and help them,	14 Feleségeitek és jószágaitok maradjanak azon a földön, amelyet nektek Mózes a Jordánon túl adott. Ti pedig, erőskarú férfiak, valamennyien keljetek át felfegyverkezve testvéreitek élén, s harcoljatok értük,
15 until Yahweh grants rest to your brothers and you alike, when they too have taken possession of theland which Yahweh your God is giving to them. Then you may go back and take possession of the land whichbelongs to you and which Moses, servant of Yahweh, has given you on the eastern side of the Jordan.'	15 amíg az Úr testvéreiteknek is nyugalmat nem ad, mint ahogy nektek adott, s ők is el nem foglalják azt a földet, amelyet az Úr, a ti Istenetek nekik szánt. Akkor visszatérhettek majd birtokotok földjére, s lakhattok azon a földön, amelyet nektek Mózes, az Úr szolgája a Jordánon túl, a keleti oldalon adott.«
16 They answered Joshua, 'We wil do whatever you order us, and wherever you send us we wil go.	16 Erre ők azt felelték Józsuénak: »Mindazt, amit parancsoltál, megtesszük, s bárhova küldesz, megyünk.
17 We obeyed Moses in everything, and now we will obey you. Only may Yahweh your God be with youas he was with Moses!	17 Amint Mózesnek engedelmeskedtünk mindenben, úgy fogunk engedelmeskedni neked is, csak legyen veled az Úr, a te Istened, mint ahogy Mózessel volt.
18 If anyone rebels against your orders or will not listen to your commands, let him be put to death. Only be strong and stand firm.'	18 Aki ellene szegül szádnak, és nem engedelmeskedik minden szónak, amelyet parancsolsz neki, az halállal lakoljon. Csak légy erős és cselekedj férfiasan!«
