1 From Paul, by the wil of God an apostle of Christ Jesus, and from our brother Timothy	1 Pablo, apóstol de Cristo Jesús por voluntad de Dios, y Timoteo el hermano,
2 to God's holy people in Colossae, our faithful brothers in Christ. Grace and peace to you from God ourFather.	2 a los santos de Colosas, hermanos fieles en Cristo. Gracia a vosotros y paz de parte de Dios, nuestro Padre.
3 We give thanks for you to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, continual y in our prayers,	3 Damos gracias sin cesar a Dios, Padre de nuestro Señor Jesucristo, por vosotros en nuestras oraciones,
4 ever since we heard about your faith in Christ Jesus and the love that you show towards all God's holypeople	4 al tener noticia de vuestra fe en Cristo Jesús y de la caridad que tenéis con todos los santos,
5 because of the hope which is stored up for you in heaven. News of this hope reached you not long agothrough the word of truth, the gospel	5 a causa de la esperanza que os está reservada en los cielos y acerca de la cual fuisteis ya instruidos por la Palabra de la verdad, el Evangelio,
6 that came to you in the same way as it is bearing fruit and growing throughout the world. It has had thesame effect among you, ever since you heard about the grace of God and recognised it for what it truly is.	6 que llegó hasta vosotros, y fructifica y crece entre vosotros lo mismo que en todo el mundo, desde el día en que oísteis y conocisteis la gracia de Dios en la verdad:
7 This you learnt from Epaphras, our very dear fel ow-worker and a trustworthy deputy for us as Christ'sservant,	7 tal como os la enseñó Epafras, nuestro querido consiervo y fiel ministro de Cristo, en lugar nuestro,
8 and it was he who also told us all about your love in the Spirit.	8 el cual nos informó también de vuestro amor en el Espíritu.
9 That is why, ever since the day he told us, we have never failed to remember you in our prayers and askthat through perfect wisdom and spiritual understanding you should reach the ful est knowledge of his will	9 Por eso, tampoco nosotros dejamos de rogar por vosotros desde el día que lo oímos, y de pedir que lleguéis al pleno conocimiento de su voluntad con toda sabiduría e inteligencia espiritual,
10 and so be able to lead a life worthy of the Lord, a life acceptable to him in all its aspects, bearing fruit in every kind of good work and growing in knowledge of God,	10 para que viváis de una manera digna del Señor, agradándole en todo, fructificando en toda obra buena y creciendo en el conocimiento de Dios;
11 fortified, in accordance with his glorious strength, with al power always to persevere and endure,	11 confortados con toda fortaleza por el poder de su gloria, para toda constancia en el sufrimiento y paciencia; dando con alegría
12 giving thanks with joy to the Father who has made you able to share the lot of God's holy people andwith them to inherit the light.	12 gracias al Padre que os ha hecho aptos para participar en la herencia de los santos en la luz.
13 Because that is what he has done. It is he who has rescued us from the ruling force of darkness andtransferred us to the kingdom of the Son that he loves,	13 El nos libró del poder de las tinieblas y nos trasladó al Reino del Hijo de su amor,
14 and in him we enjoy our freedom, the forgiveness of sin.	14 en quien tenemos la redención: el perdón de los pecados.
15 He is the image of the unseen God, the first-born of al creation,	15 El es Imagen de Dios invisible, Primogénito de toda la creación,
16 for in him were created all things in heaven and on earth: everything visible and everything invisible,thrones, ruling forces, sovereignties, powers -- al things were created through him and for him.	16 porque en él fueron creadas todas las cosas, en los cielos y en la tierra, las visibles y las invisibles, los Tronos, las Dominaciones, los Principados, las Potestades: todo fue creado por él y para él,
17 He exists before al things and in him al things hold together,	17 él existe con anterioridad a todo, y todo tiene en él su consistencia.
18 and he is the Head of the Body, that is, the Church. He is the Beginning, the first-born from the dead,so that he should be supreme in every way;	18 El es también la Cabeza del Cuerpo, de la Iglesia: El es el Principio, el Primogénito de entre los muertos, para que sea él el primero en todo,
19 because God wanted al ful ness to be found in him	19 pues Dios tuvo a bien hacer residir en él toda la Plenitud,
20 and through him to reconcile al things to him, everything in heaven and everything on earth, by makingpeace through his death on the cross.	20 y reconciliar por él y para él todas las cosas, pacificando, mediante la sangre de su cruz, lo que hay en la tierra y en los cielos.
21 You were once estranged and of hostile intent through your evil behaviour;	21 Y a vosotros, que en otro tiempo fuisteis extraños y enemigos, por vuestros pensamientos y malas obras,
22 now he has reconciled you, by his death and in that mortal body, to bring you before himself holy,faultless and irreproachable-	22 os ha reconciliado ahora, por medio de la muerte en su cuerpo de carne, para presentaros santos, inmaculados e irreprensibles delante de El;
23 as long as you persevere and stand firm on the solid base of the faith, never letting yourselves driftaway from the hope promised by the gospel, which you have heard, which has been preached to every creatureunder heaven, and of which I, Paul, have become the servant.	23 con tal que permanezcáis sólidamente cimentados en la fe, firmes e inconmovibles en la esperanza del Evangelio que oísteis, que ha sido proclamado a toda criatura bajo el cielo y del que yo, Pablo, he llegado a ser ministro.
24 It makes me happy to be suffering for you now, and in my own body to make up all the hardships thatstill have to be undergone by Christ for the sake of his body, the Church,	24 Ahora me alegro por los padecimientos que soporto por vosotros, y completo en mi carne lo que falta a las tribulaciones de Cristo, en favor de su Cuerpo, que es la Iglesia,
25 of which I was made a servant with the responsibility towards you that God gave to me, that ofcompleting God's message,	25 de la cual he llegado a ser ministro, conforme a la misión que Dios me concedió en orden a vosotros para dar cumplimiento a la Palabra de Dios,
26 the message which was a mystery hidden for generations and centuries and has now been revealed tohis holy people.	26 al Misterio escondido desde siglos y generaciones, y manifestado ahora a sus santos,
27 It was God's purpose to reveal to them how rich is the glory of this mystery among the gentiles; it isChrist among you, your hope of glory:	27 a quienes Dios quiso dar a conocer cuál es la riqueza de la gloria de este misterio entre los gentiles, que es Cristo entre vosotros, la esperanza de la gloria,
28 this is the Christ we are proclaiming, admonishing and instructing everyone in all wisdom, to makeeveryone perfect in Christ.	28 al cual nosotros anunciamos, amonestando e instruyendo a todos los hombres con toda sabiduría, a fin de presentarlos a todos perfectos en Cristo.
29 And it is for this reason that I labour, striving with his energy which works in me mightily.	29 Por esto precisamente me afano, luchando con la fuerza de Cristo que actúa poderosamente en mí.
