Deuteronomy 33

NEW JERUSALEM	BIBBIA TINTORI
1 This is the blessing that Moses, man of God, pronounced over the Israelites before he died.	1 Ecco la benedizione colla quale Mosè, uomo di Dio, benedisse i figli d'Israele prima di morire.
2 He said: Yahweh came from Sinai, from Seir he dawned on us, from Mount Paran blazed forth, Forthem he came, after the mustering at Kadesh, from his zenith as far as the foothil s.	2 Egli disse: Il Signore è venuto dal Sinai e si è levato per noi da Seir, è apparso dal monte Faran, e con lui migliaia di santi. Nella sua destra una legge di fuoco;
3 You who love the ancestors! Your holy ones are all at your command. At your feet they fell, under yourguidance went swiftly on.	3 egli ha amati i popoli, tutti i santi sono nella sua mano, e quelli che si appressano ai suoi piedi riceveranno la sua dottrina.

8 Of Levi he said: To Levi, give your urim, to your faithful one, your thummim, having tested him atMassah, having striven with him at the Waters of Meribah.	8 E di Levi disse: La tua perfezione e la tua dottrina son di quel tuo uomo santo che tu provasti nella tentazione e giudicasti alle Acque di contraddizione,

11 Yahweh, bless his worthiness, and accept the actions he performs. Crush the loins of those who riseagainst him and of his foes, so that they rise no more!	11 Benedici, o Signore, la sua fortezza, accetta le opere delle sue mani, percuoti le spalle dei suoi nemici, e quelli che l'odiano non possan stare in piedi.
12 Of Benjamin he said: Beloved of Yahweh, he rests trustful y near him. The Most High protects himday after day and dwel s between his hil sides.	12 E di Beniamino disse: Il dilettissimo del Signore abiterà con lui con tutta confidenza, vi starà tutto il giorno come in letto nuziale, e riposerà tra le braccia di lui.
13 Of Joseph he said: His land is blessed by Yahweh. For him the best of heaven's dew and of the deepthat lies below,	13 E di Giuseppe disse: La sua terra sia benedetta dal Signore, con i frutti del cielo e colle rugiade, con le sorgenti che scaturiscono dall'abisso,
14 the best of what the sun makes grow, of what springs with every month,	14 con i frutti prodotti dal sole e dalla luna,
15 the first-fruits of the ancient mountains, the best from the hil s of old	15 coi frutti delle cime dei monti antichi, coi frutti dei colli eterni,
16 the best of the land and al it holds, the favour of him who dwells in the Bush. May the hair grow thickon the head of Joseph, on the brow of the consecrated one among his brothers!	16 e colle biade della terra nella sua abbondanza. La benedizione di Colui che apparve nel roveto scenda sul capo di Giuseppe, sulla sommità del capo di colui che è Nazzareo tra i suoi fratelli.
17 First-born of the Bul , his the glory. His horns are the wild ox's horns, with which he gores thepeoples to the very ends of the earth. Such are the myriads of Ephraim, such are the thousands of Manasseh.	17 La sua bellezza è come quella del primogenito del toro, le sue corna son corna di rinoceronte: con esse getterà in aria le genti sino agli ultimi confini della terra. Tali sono le moltitudini di Efraim e tali le migliaia di Manasse.
18 Of Zebulun he said: Prosper, Zebulun, in your expeditions, and you, Issachar, in your tents!	18 E a Zàbulon disse: Rallegrati, o Zàbulon, nel tuo uscire, e tu,o Issacar, nelle tue tende:
19 On the mountain where the people come to pray they offer upright sacrifices, for they taste the richesof the seas and the treasures hidden in the sands.	19 essi schianteranno i popoli al monte, ove immoleranno vittime di giustizia, essi succhieranno come latte le ricchezze dei mari e i tesori nascosti delle arene.
20 Of Gad he said: Blessed be he who gives Gad space enough! He lies there like a lioness; he hassavaged arm and face and head.	20 E a Gad disse: Benedetto Gad nella sua estensione! Egli si è sdraiato come un leone, ha sbranato braccio e testa,

23 Of Naphtali he said: Naphtali, sated with favours, fil ed with the blessings of Yahweh: the west andsouth are to be his domain.	23 E di Neftali disse: Nettali godrà nell'abbondanza, sarà colmo delle benedizioni del Signore, possederà il mare e il mezzodì.
24 Of Asher he said: Most blessed of the sons let Asher be! Let him be the most privileged of hisbrothers and let him bathe his feet in oil!	24 Àd Aser disse: Sia Aser benedetto nei figli, sia caro ai suoi fratelli e tuffi il suo piede nell'olio.
25 Be your bolts of iron and of bronze and your security as lasting as your days!	25 I suoi calzari sian ferro e rame; come i giorni della tua gioventù, così sia anche la tua vecchiaia.
26 No one is like the God of Jeshurun: he rides the heavens to your rescue, rides the clouds in hismajesty!	26 Non v'è altro Dio come il Dio del popolo giustissimo; Colui che sale sopra i cieli è tuo aiuto: sotto la sua maestà corron le nubi.
27 The God of old is your refuge, his the eternal arm which here below drives the enemy before you; heit is who says, 'Destroy!'	27 Lassù risiede e quaggiù sono le sue braccia eterne. Caccerà dalla tua faccia il nemico e dirà: Sii ridotto in polvere,
28 Israel rests trustfully. The well-spring of Jacob is chosen out for a land of corn and wine; thereheaven itself rains down dew.	28 Israele abiterà sicuro e solo, l'occhio di Giacobbe poserà sopra una terra feconda di grano e di vino. I cieli saranno oscurati dalla rugiada.
29 Blessed are you, O Israel! Who is like you, O victorious people? Yahweh is the shield that protectsyou and the sword that leads you to triumph. Your enemies wil try to corrupt you, but you yourself wil trample ontheir backs.	29 Te beato, o Israele! Chi è simile a te, o popolo che hai la tua salute nel Signore? Egli è lo scudo ohe ti protegge, egli è la spada della tua gloria. I tuoi nemici non ti riconosceranno; ma tu calpesterai i loro colli.
