Deuteronomy 33

NEW JERUSALEM	BIBBIA RICCIOTTI
1 This is the blessing that Moses, man of God, pronounced over the Israelites before he died.	1 - Questa è la benedizione con la quale Mosè, uomo di Dio, benedisse i figli d'Israele prima di morire.
2 He said: Yahweh came from Sinai, from Seir he dawned on us, from Mount Paran blazed forth, Forthem he came, after the mustering at Kadesh, from his zenith as far as the foothil s.	2 E disse: «Il Signore venne dal Sinai, si mostrò a noi dal Seir, ci appare dal monte Faran; con lui, migliaia di santi, nella sua destra la legge di fuoco.
3 You who love the ancestors! Your holy ones are all at your command. At your feet they fell, under yourguidance went swiftly on.	3 Amò i popoli, tutt'i santi sono in sua mano; quelli che stanno a' suoi piediriceveranno l'insegnamento di lui.
4 (Moses enjoined a law on us.) The assembly of Jacob comes into its inheritance;	4 Mosè ci ha dato la legge eredità di tutto Giacobbe.
5 there was a king in Jeshurun when the heads of the people foregathered and the tribes of Israel wereal assembled!	5 Sarà [il Signore] re del rettissimo, adunate insieme i principi del popolo e le tribù d'Israele.
6 May Reuben survive and not die out, survive though his men be few!	6 Viva Ruben e non muoia, ma resti piccolo di numero.»
7 Of Judah he said this: Listen, Yahweh, to the voice of Judah, and bring him back to his people. Thathis hands may defend his rights, come to his help against his foes!	7 Questa fu la benedizione per Giuda: «Ascolta, Signore, la voce di Giuda, e dagli la parte che gli spetta fra il tuo popolo. Le sue mani combatteranno per esso, e sarà il suo aiuto contro i suoi avversari.»
8 Of Levi he said: To Levi, give your urim, to your faithful one, your thummim, having tested him atMassah, having striven with him at the Waters of Meribah.	8 Di Levi poi disse: «La tua Perfezione e la tua Dottrina [o Signore] all'uomo tuo santo, che mettesti a prova nella Tentazione, che giudicasti alle Acque della Contradizione.
9 Of his father and mother, he says, 'I have not seen them.' He does not acknowledge his brothers, nordoes he know his own children. Yes, they have kept your word, they hold firmly to your covenant.	9 Disse egli al padre e alla madre sua : -Non vi conosco-ai suoi fratelli: - Non so chi siete -; e non conobbero i propri figli. Essi custodirono le tue parole, osservarono il tuo patto,
10 They wil teach your customs to Jacob, and your Law to Israel. They wil put incense before you andburnt offerings on your altar.	10 i tuoi giudizi, o Giacobbe, la tua legge, o Israele; porranno l'incenso [a placare] il tuo sdegno [o Signore], porranno l'olocausto sul tuo altare.
11 Yahweh, bless his worthiness, and accept the actions he performs. Crush the loins of those who riseagainst him and of his foes, so that they rise no more!	11 Benedici, Signore, la sua forza, ed accetta l'opera delle sue mani. Percuoti alle spalle i suoi nemici, e quei che l'odiano non si rialzino più.»
12 Of Benjamin he said: Beloved of Yahweh, he rests trustful y near him. The Most High protects himday after day and dwel s between his hil sides.	12 Di Beniamino disse: «Amantissimo del Signore, abiterà in sicurezza presso di lui; dimorerà tutto il giorno come in un talamo, e fra le sue braccia riposerà.»
13 Of Joseph he said: His land is blessed by Yahweh. For him the best of heaven's dew and of the deepthat lies below,	13 Di Giuseppe poi disse: «Benedetto dal Signore il tuo territorio, co' frutti del cielo, con la rugiada, con le fonti di sottoterra;
14 the best of what the sun makes grow, of what springs with every month,	14 coi frutti maturati dal sole e dalla luna
15 the first-fruits of the ancient mountains, the best from the hil s of old	15 sulla cima de' monti antichi; co' frutti de' colli eterni;
16 the best of the land and al it holds, the favour of him who dwells in the Bush. May the hair grow thickon the head of Joseph, on the brow of the consecrated one among his brothers!	16 con le mèssi della terra, e con la sua abbondanza. La benedizione di lui che [m']apparve nel roveto venga sul capo di Giuseppe, sul capo di lui eletto tra' suoi fratelli.
17 First-born of the Bul , his the glory. His horns are the wild ox's horns, with which he gores thepeoples to the very ends of the earth. Such are the myriads of Ephraim, such are the thousands of Manasseh.	17 La sua bellezza è come del primogenito d'un toro, corni di rinoceronte i suoi corni, con essi getterà in aria le genti sino ai confini della terra. Son queste le miriadi d'Efraim, e queste le migliaia di Manasse.»
18 Of Zebulun he said: Prosper, Zebulun, in your expeditions, and you, Issachar, in your tents!	18 Di Zabulon disse: «Rallegrati, Zabulon, quando uscirai; e tu, Issacar, quando resterai nelle tue tende.
19 On the mountain where the people come to pray they offer upright sacrifices, for they taste the richesof the seas and the treasures hidden in the sands.	19 Chiameranno i popoli della montagna, v'immoleranno vittime di giustizia. Succhieranno come latte l'abbondanza del mare, e i tesori nascosti nelle sue arene.»
20 Of Gad he said: Blessed be he who gives Gad space enough! He lies there like a lioness; he hassavaged arm and face and head.	20 Disse di Gad: «Benedetto Gad nella sua espansione. S'è posato come un leoneche ha preso un braccio ed il capo.
21 Then he took the first portion for himself, saw that there was stored up for him a leader's share. Hehas come at the head of the people, has carried out the saving justice of Yahweh and his judgements on Israel.	21 Conobbe il suo principato, perchè nella sua parte sarebbe deposto il maestro; stette co' principi del popolo, eseguì la sentenza del Signore, ed il giudizio di lui con Israele.»
22 Of Dan he said: Dan is a lion cub leaping from Bashan.	22 Disse poi di Dan: «Dan è un leoncello; s'estenderà largamente al di là di Basan.»
23 Of Naphtali he said: Naphtali, sated with favours, fil ed with the blessings of Yahweh: the west andsouth are to be his domain.	23 E di Neftali disse: «Neftali godrà dell'abbondanza, e sarà pieno delle benedizioni del Signore; possederà il mare ed il mezzogiorno.»
24 Of Asher he said: Most blessed of the sons let Asher be! Let him be the most privileged of hisbrothers and let him bathe his feet in oil!	24 Disse di Aser: «Benedetto Aser ne' suoi figliuoli; sia nelle grazie de' suoi fratelli, e bagni nell'olio i suoi piedi.
25 Be your bolts of iron and of bronze and your security as lasting as your days!	25 Ferro e bronzo i suoi calzari; come il tempo della tua giovinezza, così la tua vecchiaia.
26 No one is like the God of Jeshurun: he rides the heavens to your rescue, rides the clouds in hismajesty!	26 Non v'è altro Dio come il Dio del rettissimo; sale ne' cieli il tuo protettore; per la sua onnipotenza si muovon le nubi.
27 The God of old is your refuge, his the eternal arm which here below drives the enemy before you; heit is who says, 'Destroy!'	27 La sua abitazione è di sopra; di sotto [arrivano] le sue braccia eterne. Scaccerà dinanzi a te l'inimico, e gli dirà: - Sii distrutto. -
28 Israel rests trustfully. The well-spring of Jacob is chosen out for a land of corn and wine; thereheaven itself rains down dew.	28 Israele dimorerà in sicurezza, e solo. L'occhio di Giacobbe su una terra di frumento e di vino, ed i cieli stilleranno rugiada.
29 Blessed are you, O Israel! Who is like you, O victorious people? Yahweh is the shield that protectsyou and the sword that leads you to triumph. Your enemies wil try to corrupt you, but you yourself wil trample ontheir backs.	29 Beato se' tu, o Israele. Chi è simile a te, o popolo, che sei salvato dal Signore? [È egli] lo scudo che ti protegge, e la spada che ti fa vittorioso. I tuoi nemici non ti riconosceranno, ma tu calcherai [col tuo piede] le loro teste.»
