Deuteronomy 33

NEW JERUSALEM	LA SACRA BIBBIA
1 This is the blessing that Moses, man of God, pronounced over the Israelites before he died.	1 Questa è la benedizione con cui Mosè, uomo di Dio, benedisse i figli d'Israele prima di morire.
2 He said: Yahweh came from Sinai, from Seir he dawned on us, from Mount Paran blazed forth, Forthem he came, after the mustering at Kadesh, from his zenith as far as the foothil s.	2 Disse: "Il Signore è venuto dal Sinai, sorse per essi da Seir; brillò dal monte Paran, è venuto dalle assemblee di Kades, per loro, dal sud, fino ad Ashedot.
3 You who love the ancestors! Your holy ones are all at your command. At your feet they fell, under yourguidance went swiftly on.	3 Tu ami i popoli, tutti i tuoi santi sono nella tua mano. Erano prostrati ai tuoi piedi per ricevere le tue parole.
4 (Moses enjoined a law on us.) The assembly of Jacob comes into its inheritance;	4 Una legge ci ha prescritto Mosè, un'eredità per l'assemblea di Giacobbe.

7 Of Judah he said this: Listen, Yahweh, to the voice of Judah, and bring him back to his people. Thathis hands may defend his rights, come to his help against his foes!	7 Questo per Giuda disse: "Ascolta, o Signore, la voce di Giuda, e riconducilo al suo popolo. Le sue mani lotteranno per lui, e tu gli sarai d'aiuto contro i suoi avversari".
8 Of Levi he said: To Levi, give your urim, to your faithful one, your thummim, having tested him atMassah, having striven with him at the Waters of Meribah.	8 Per Levi disse: "Da' a Levi i tuoi tummim e i tuoi urim all'uomo santo che hai tentato a Massa, con cui hai disputato presso le acque di Meriba.

11 Yahweh, bless his worthiness, and accept the actions he performs. Crush the loins of those who riseagainst him and of his foes, so that they rise no more!	11 Benedici, o Signore, la sua forza, gradisci l'opera delle sue mani. Spezza le reni dei suoi avversari, e coloro che lo odiano non si rialzino più".
12 Of Benjamin he said: Beloved of Yahweh, he rests trustful y near him. The Most High protects himday after day and dwel s between his hil sides.	12 Per Beniamino disse: "Prediletto del Signore, Beniamino, riposa sicuro su di Lui; lo protegge ogni giorno e abita tra le sue colline".
13 Of Joseph he said: His land is blessed by Yahweh. For him the best of heaven's dew and of the deepthat lies below,	13 Per Giuseppe disse: "Benedetta dal Signore la sua terra: ha il meglio dal cielo, la rugiada, e dall'abisso disteso nel profondo.
14 the best of what the sun makes grow, of what springs with every month,	14 Il meglio dei prodotti del sole, il meglio dei frutti della luna;
15 the first-fruits of the ancient mountains, the best from the hil s of old	15 il meglio delle montagne antiche, il meglio dei colli eterni;
16 the best of the land and al it holds, the favour of him who dwells in the Bush. May the hair grow thickon the head of Joseph, on the brow of the consecrated one among his brothers!	16 il meglio della terra e la sua ricchezza; e il favore di Colui che abita nel roveto venga sul capo di Giuseppe, sulla testa del prescelto fra i suoi fratelli.
17 First-born of the Bul , his the glory. His horns are the wild ox's horns, with which he gores thepeoples to the very ends of the earth. Such are the myriads of Ephraim, such are the thousands of Manasseh.	17 Primogenito del Toro, a lui la gloria! Corna di bufalo, le sue corna: con esse colpisce i popoli tutti assieme, fino all'estremità della terra. Queste sono le miriadi di Efraim, queste le migliaia di Manasse".
18 Of Zebulun he said: Prosper, Zebulun, in your expeditions, and you, Issachar, in your tents!	18 Per Zabulon disse: "Gioisci, Zabulon, nelle tue spedizioni, e tu, Issacar, nelle tue tende!
19 On the mountain where the people come to pray they offer upright sacrifices, for they taste the richesof the seas and the treasures hidden in the sands.	19 I popoli, sulla montagna dove invocano, là offrono sacrifici di giustizia, perché succhiano l'abbondanza dei mari e i tesori nascosti della sabbia".
20 Of Gad he said: Blessed be he who gives Gad space enough! He lies there like a lioness; he hassavaged arm and face and head.	20 Per Gad disse: "Benedetto Colui che amplia Gad! Si accovaccia come una leonessa, sbrana braccio, faccia e testa.
21 Then he took the first portion for himself, saw that there was stored up for him a leader's share. Hehas come at the head of the people, has carried out the saving justice of Yahweh and his judgements on Israel.	21 Ha guardato le sue primizie quando là si riservò la parte del capo; si è accostato ai prìncipi del popolo: praticò la giustizia del Signore e i suoi giudizi, con Israele".
22 Of Dan he said: Dan is a lion cub leaping from Bashan.	22 Per Dan disse: "Dan è un leoncello: egli balza da Basan".
23 Of Naphtali he said: Naphtali, sated with favours, fil ed with the blessings of Yahweh: the west andsouth are to be his domain.	23 Per Neftali disse: "Neftali è sazio di favori, colmo delle benedizioni del Signore: il mare e il sud sono sua proprietà".
24 Of Asher he said: Most blessed of the sons let Asher be! Let him be the most privileged of hisbrothers and let him bathe his feet in oil!	24 Per Aser disse: "Benedetto più di tutti i figli, Aser! Sia il favorito dei suoi fratelli, s'immerga nell'olio il suo piede!
25 Be your bolts of iron and of bronze and your security as lasting as your days!	25 Di ferro e di bronzo siano le tue sbarre, e come i tuoi giorni duri la tua forza.
26 No one is like the God of Jeshurun: he rides the heavens to your rescue, rides the clouds in hismajesty!	26 Nessuno è come il Dio di Jesurun: cavalca i cieli in tuo soccorso, le nubi, nella sua maestà.
27 The God of old is your refuge, his the eternal arm which here below drives the enemy before you; heit is who says, 'Destroy!'	27 Un rifugio è il Dio dei tempi antichi, e quaggiù, braccia eterne! Ha cacciato il nemico davanti a te; disse: "Distruggi!".
28 Israel rests trustfully. The well-spring of Jacob is chosen out for a land of corn and wine; thereheaven itself rains down dew.	28 Israele riposò al sicuro, da solo la fonte di Giacobbe sulla terra del frumento e del mosto, e il suo cielo stilla rugiada.
29 Blessed are you, O Israel! Who is like you, O victorious people? Yahweh is the shield that protectsyou and the sword that leads you to triumph. Your enemies wil try to corrupt you, but you yourself wil trample ontheir backs.	29 Felice te, o Israele! Chi è come te, popolo salvato dal Signore? Lui è lo scudo della tua difesa, la spada della tua gloria. I tuoi nemici ti adulano, ma tu cavalchi le loro alture".
