Deuteronomy 16

NEW JERUSALEM	EL LIBRO DEL PUEBLO DE DIOS
1 'Observe the month of Abib and celebrate the Passover for Yahweh your God, because it was in themonth of Abib that Yahweh your God brought you out of Egypt by night.	1 Solemniza el mes de Abib celebrando en él la Pascua en honor del Señor, tu Dios, porque una noche del mes de Abib él te hizo salir de Egipto.
2 You must sacrifice a Passover from your flock or herd for Yahweh your God in the place whereYahweh chooses to give his name a home.	2 Inmola al Señor, tu Dios, como víctima pascual, un animal del ganado mayor o menor, en el lugar que él elija para constituirlo morada de su Nombre.
3 You must not eat leavened bread with this; for seven days you must eat it with unleavened bread --the bread of affliction -- since you left Egypt in great haste; this is so that, as long as you live, you wil rememberthe day you came out of Egypt.	3 No comas la víctima con pan fermentado. Durante siete días comerás pan sin levadura, que es un pan de aflicción, porque tú saliste precipitadamente de Egipto: así te acordarás siempre del día en que saliste de Egipto.
4 For seven days no leaven must be found in any house throughout your territory, nor must any of themeat that you sacrifice in the evening of the first day be kept overnight until the next day.	4 Estos siete días la levadura no deberá verse en todo tu territorio, y tampoco quedarán para el día siguiente restos de la carne sacrificada al atardecer del primer día.
5 You must sacrifice the Passover not in any of the towns given you by Yahweh your God,	5 No inmoles la víctima pascual en cualquiera de las ciudades que el Señor, tu Dios, te dará.
6 but in the place where Yahweh your God chooses to give his name a home; there you must sacrificethe Passover, in the evening at sunset, at the hour when you came out of Egypt.	6 La inmolarás únicamente en el lugar que el elija para constituirlo morada de su Nombre, y lo harás al atardecer, cuando se ponga el sol, a la misma hora en que saliste de Egipto.
7 You wil cook it and eat it in the place chosen by Yahweh your God, and in the morning you mustreturn and go to your tents.	7 Cocerás y comerás la víctima en el lugar que el Señor, tu Dios, elija, y a la mañana siguiente emprenderás el camino de regreso a tu casa.
8 For six days you wil eat unleavened bread; on the seventh day there wil be an assembly for Yahwehyour God; and you must do no work.	8 Durante seis días comerás pan sin levadura, y el séptimo día harás una asamblea litúrgica en honor del Señor, tu Dios. Ese día no realizarás ningún trabajo.
9 'You must count seven weeks, counting these seven weeks from the time you begin to put your sickleinto the standing corn.	9 Cuenta siete semanas a partir del momento en que empieces a cosechar,
10 You wil then celebrate the feast of Weeks for Yahweh your God with the gift of a voluntary offeringproportionate to the degree in which Yahweh your God has blessed you.	10 y al término de ellas celebrarás la fiesta de las Semanas en honor del Señor, tu Dios, llevando tus ofrendas voluntarias, en la medida en que el Señor, tu Dios, llevando tus ofrendas voluntarias, en la medida en que el Señor, tu Dios, te bendiga.
11 You must rejoice in the presence of Yahweh your God, in the place where Yahweh your Godchooses to give his name a home, you, your son and your daughter, your serving men and women, the Leviteliving in your community, the foreigner, the orphan and the widow living among you.	11 Te alegrarás en la presencia del Señor, tu Dios –en el lugar que él elija para construirlo morada de su Nombre– junto con tu hijo y tu hija, con tu esclavo y tu esclava, con el levita que viva en tu ciudad, y con el extranjero, el huérfano y la viuda que estén contigo.
12 Remember that you were once a slave in Egypt, and careful y observe these laws.	12 Recuerda que fuiste esclavo en Egipto y observa fielmente estas prescripciones.
13 'You must celebrate the feast of Shelters for seven days, at the time when you gather in the produceof your threshing-floor and winepress.	13 Celebra durante siete días la fiesta de las Chozas, apenas termines de recoger los frutos de tu era y de tu lagar.
14 You must rejoice at your feast, you, your son and your daughter, your serving men and women, theLevite, the foreigner, the orphan and the widow living in your community.	14 Te alegrarás durante la fiesta, junto con tu hijo y tu hija, con tu esclavo y tu esclava, y con el levita, el extranjero, el huérfano y la viuda que vivan en tu ciudad.
15 For seven days, you must celebrate the feast for Yahweh your God in the place chosen by Yahweh;for Yahweh your God wil bless you in al your produce and in al your undertakings, so that you will have goodreason to rejoice.	15 Siete días estarás de fiesta en honor del Señor, tu Dios, en el lugar que él elija. Porque el Señor, tu Dios, te bendecirá en todas tus cosechas y en todas tus obras, para que seas plenamente feliz.
16 'Three times a year al your menfolk must appear before Yahweh your God in the place chosen byhim: at the feast of Unleavened Bread, at the feast of Weeks, at the feast of Shelters. No one must appearempty-handed before Yahweh,	16 Tres veces al año, todos los varones se presentarán delante del Señor, tu Dios, en el lugar elegido por él: en la fiesta de los Acimos, en la fiesta de las Semanas y en la fiesta de las Chozas. Nadie se presentará delante del Señor con las manos vacías.
17 but each must give what he can, in proportion to the blessing which Yahweh your God has bestowedon you.	17 Cada uno dará lo que pueda, conforme a la bendición que el Señor, tu Dios, te haya otorgado.
18 'You must appoint judges and scribes in each of the towns that Yahweh your God is giving you, foral your tribes; these are to mete out proper justice to the people.	18 En cada una de las ciudades que el Señor, tu Dios, te dé para tus tribus, pondrás jueces y escribas que dicten sentencias justas en favor del pueblo.
19 You must not pervert the law; you must be impartial; you wil take no bribes, for a bribe blinds theeyes of the wise and ruins the cause of the upright.	19 No tergiversarás el derecho; no harás acepción de personas ni te dejarás sobornar. Porque el soborno ciega los ojos de los sabios y pervierte las palabras de los justos.
20 Strict justice must be your ideal, so that you may live long in possession of the country given you byYahweh your God.	20 Tu deber es buscar la justicia, sólo la justicia, para que tengas vida y poseas la tierra que el Señor, tu Dios, te da.
21 'You must not plant a sacred pole of any wood whatsoever beside the altar which you erect forYahweh your God;	21 No plantarás ninguna clase de árbol, para tenerlo como poste sagrado, junto al altar que dediques al Señor, tu Dios.
22 nor wil you set up a standing-stone, a thing Yahweh your God would abhor.'	22 Tampoco erigirás piedras conmemorativas, porque el Señor, tu Dios, las detesta.
