Deuteronomy 16

NEW JERUSALEM	BIBLES DES PEUPLES
1 'Observe the month of Abib and celebrate the Passover for Yahweh your God, because it was in themonth of Abib that Yahweh your God brought you out of Egypt by night.	1 Observe le mois d’Abib! Tu y feras la Pâque en l’honneur de Yahvé ton Dieu, car c’est au mois d’Abib qu’il t’a fait sortir d’Égypte durant la nuit.
2 You must sacrifice a Passover from your flock or herd for Yahweh your God in the place whereYahweh chooses to give his name a home.	2 Tu immoleras la Pâque en l’honneur de Yahvé ton Dieu, avec des brebis et des bœufs, dans le lieu qu’il aura choisi pour y faire habiter son Nom.
3 You must not eat leavened bread with this; for seven days you must eat it with unleavened bread --the bread of affliction -- since you left Egypt in great haste; this is so that, as long as you live, you wil rememberthe day you came out of Egypt.	3 Tu ne mangeras pas de pain levé avec les victimes du sacrifice, mais pendant sept jours tu mangeras des pains sans levain, des pains de tristesse. En effet, c’est en hâte que tu es sorti d’Égypte. Ainsi tu te souviendras toute ta vie du jour où tu es sorti d’Égypte.
4 For seven days no leaven must be found in any house throughout your territory, nor must any of themeat that you sacrifice in the evening of the first day be kept overnight until the next day.	4 Durant sept jours on ne verra pas de levain chez toi, sur tout ton territoire. Aucune partie des victimes que tu auras offertes en sacrifice le soir du premier jour, ne restera jusqu’au lendemain matin.
5 You must sacrifice the Passover not in any of the towns given you by Yahweh your God,	5 Tu ne pourras pas immoler la Pâque dans n’importe quelle ville que te donne Yahvé ton Dieu,
6 but in the place where Yahweh your God chooses to give his name a home; there you must sacrificethe Passover, in the evening at sunset, at the hour when you came out of Egypt.	6 mais tu la célébreras dans le lieu que Yahvé ton Dieu aura choisi pour y faire habiter son Nom. Tu la célébreras le soir au coucher du soleil, à l’heure où tu es sorti d’Égypte.
7 You wil cook it and eat it in the place chosen by Yahweh your God, and in the morning you mustreturn and go to your tents.	7 Tu feras cuire et tu mangeras la bête du sacrifice dans le lieu que Yahvé ton Dieu aura choisi; au matin tu pourras repartir et regagner tes tentes.
8 For six days you wil eat unleavened bread; on the seventh day there wil be an assembly for Yahwehyour God; and you must do no work.	8 Durant 6 jours tu mangeras des pains sans levain, et le septième jour vous tiendrez une assemblée solennelle en l’honneur de Yahvé votre Dieu. Tu ne feras aucun travail ce jour-là.
9 'You must count seven weeks, counting these seven weeks from the time you begin to put your sickleinto the standing corn.	9 Tu compteras ensuite sept semaines. Tu compteras ces sept semaines à partir du jour où tu commences à faucher ton blé.
10 You wil then celebrate the feast of Weeks for Yahweh your God with the gift of a voluntary offeringproportionate to the degree in which Yahweh your God has blessed you.	10 Alors tu célébreras la Fête des Semaines en l’honneur de Yahvé ton Dieu. Tu mesureras tes offrandes volontaires d’après les bénédictions reçues de Yahvé ton Dieu,
11 You must rejoice in the presence of Yahweh your God, in the place where Yahweh your Godchooses to give his name a home, you, your son and your daughter, your serving men and women, the Leviteliving in your community, the foreigner, the orphan and the widow living among you.	11 et tu viendras faire la fête dans le lieu que Yahvé ton Dieu aura choisi pour y faire habiter son Nom, tu y seras en présence de Yahvé ton Dieu avec ton fils et ta fille, ton serviteur et ta servante, avec le Lévite, l’étranger, l’orphelin et la veuve qui habitent au milieu de toi.
12 Remember that you were once a slave in Egypt, and careful y observe these laws.	12 Souviens-toi alors que tu as été esclave en Égypte, et prends soin de mettre toutes ces lois en pratique.
13 'You must celebrate the feast of Shelters for seven days, at the time when you gather in the produceof your threshing-floor and winepress.	13 Tu célébreras chez toi la Fête des Tentes durant sept jours, après que tu auras recueilli tout ce qui vient de ton aire et de ton pressoir.
14 You must rejoice at your feast, you, your son and your daughter, your serving men and women, theLevite, the foreigner, the orphan and the widow living in your community.	14 Tu feras la fête, toi, ton fils et ta fille, ton serviteur et ta servante, avec le Lévite, l’étranger, l’orphelin et la veuve qui habitent au milieu de toi.
15 For seven days, you must celebrate the feast for Yahweh your God in the place chosen by Yahweh;for Yahweh your God wil bless you in al your produce and in al your undertakings, so that you will have goodreason to rejoice.	15 Durant sept jours tu célébreras une fête en l’honneur de Yahvé ton Dieu dans le lieu que Yahvé aura choisi. Ainsi Yahvé ton Dieu bénira toutes tes ressources et tes entreprises et tu seras heureux.
16 'Three times a year al your menfolk must appear before Yahweh your God in the place chosen byhim: at the feast of Unleavened Bread, at the feast of Weeks, at the feast of Shelters. No one must appearempty-handed before Yahweh,	16 Ainsi, trois fois dans l’année, tout mâle parmi vous se présentera devant Yahvé ton Dieu, dans le lieu qu’il aura choisi. Il y viendra pour la Fête des Azymes, la Fête des Semaines et la Fête des Tentes. On ne se présentera pas devant Yahvé les mains vides,
17 but each must give what he can, in proportion to the blessing which Yahweh your God has bestowedon you.	17 mais chacun apportera une offrande, à la mesure des bénédictions de Yahvé ton Dieu.
18 'You must appoint judges and scribes in each of the towns that Yahweh your God is giving you, foral your tribes; these are to mete out proper justice to the people.	18 Dans chaque tribu, dans toutes les villes que Yahvé ton Dieu te donne, tu établiras des juges et des scribes. Ils rendront la justice et le peuple aura une justice honnête.
19 You must not pervert the law; you must be impartial; you wil take no bribes, for a bribe blinds theeyes of the wise and ruins the cause of the upright.	19 Tu ne fausseras pas le jugement, tu ne favoriseras personne, tu n’accepteras pas de cadeau, car le cadeau aveugle les sages et fait tort à celui qui est dans son droit.
20 Strict justice must be your ideal, so that you may live long in possession of the country given you byYahweh your God.	20 Tu rechercheras la justice, je dis bien la justice, et ainsi tu vivras et tu posséderas le pays que Yahvé ton Dieu te donne.
21 'You must not plant a sacred pole of any wood whatsoever beside the altar which you erect forYahweh your God;	21 Tu ne planteras ni pieux sacrés, ni aucun arbre à côté de l’autel que tu auras construit pour Yahvé ton Dieu.
22 nor wil you set up a standing-stone, a thing Yahweh your God would abhor.'	22 Tu ne dresseras pas non plus de pierres, car Yahvé ton Dieu déteste cela.
