Deuteronomy 16

NEW JERUSALEM	BIBLIA
1 'Observe the month of Abib and celebrate the Passover for Yahweh your God, because it was in themonth of Abib that Yahweh your God brought you out of Egypt by night.	1 Guarda el mes de Abib y celebra en él la Pascua en honor de Yahveh tu Dios, porque fue en el mes de Abib, por la noche, cuando Yahveh tu Dios te sacó de Egipto.
2 You must sacrifice a Passover from your flock or herd for Yahweh your God in the place whereYahweh chooses to give his name a home.	2 Sacrificarás en honor de Yahveh tu Dios una víctima pascual de ganado mayor y menor, en el lugar eligido por Yahveh tu Dios para morada de su nombre.
3 You must not eat leavened bread with this; for seven days you must eat it with unleavened bread --the bread of affliction -- since you left Egypt in great haste; this is so that, as long as you live, you wil rememberthe day you came out of Egypt.	3 No comerás con la víctima pan fermentado; durante siete días la comerás con ázimos - pan de aflicción - porque a toda prisa saliste del país de Egipto: para que te acuerdes todos los días de tu vida del día en que saliste del país de Egipto.
4 For seven days no leaven must be found in any house throughout your territory, nor must any of themeat that you sacrifice in the evening of the first day be kept overnight until the next day.	4 Durante siete días no se verá junto a ti levadura, en todo tu territorio, y de la carne que hayas sacrificado la tarde del primer día no deberá quedar nada para la mañana siguiente.
5 You must sacrifice the Passover not in any of the towns given you by Yahweh your God,	5 No podrás sacrificar la Pascua en ninguna de las ciudades que Yahveh tu Dios te da,
6 but in the place where Yahweh your God chooses to give his name a home; there you must sacrificethe Passover, in the evening at sunset, at the hour when you came out of Egypt.	6 sino que sólo en el lugar elegido por Yahveh tu Dios para morada de su nombre, sacrificarás la Pascua, por la tarde a la puesta del sol, hora en que saliste de Egipto.
7 You wil cook it and eat it in the place chosen by Yahweh your God, and in the morning you mustreturn and go to your tents.	7 La cocerás y la comerás en el lugar elegido por Yahveh tu Dios, y a la mañana siguiente te volverás y marcharás a tus tiendas.
8 For six days you wil eat unleavened bread; on the seventh day there wil be an assembly for Yahwehyour God; and you must do no work.	8 Comerás ázimos durante seis días; el día séptimo habrá reunión en honor de Yahveh tu Dios; y no harás ningún trabajo.
9 'You must count seven weeks, counting these seven weeks from the time you begin to put your sickleinto the standing corn.	9 Contarás siete semanas. Cuando la hoz comience a cortar las espigas comenzarás a contar estas siete semanas.
10 You wil then celebrate the feast of Weeks for Yahweh your God with the gift of a voluntary offeringproportionate to the degree in which Yahweh your God has blessed you.	10 Y celebrarás en honor de Yahveh tu Dios la fiesta de las Semanas, con la ofrenda voluntaria que haga tu mano, en la medida en que Yahveh tu Dios te haya bendecido.
11 You must rejoice in the presence of Yahweh your God, in the place where Yahweh your Godchooses to give his name a home, you, your son and your daughter, your serving men and women, the Leviteliving in your community, the foreigner, the orphan and the widow living among you.	11 En presencia de Yahveh tu Dios te regocijarás, en el lugar elegido por Yahveh tu Dios para morada de su nombre: tú, tu hijo y tu hija, tu siervo y tu sierva, el levita que vive en tus ciudades, el forastero, el huérfano y la viuda que viven en medio de ti.
12 Remember that you were once a slave in Egypt, and careful y observe these laws.	12 Te acordarás de que fuiste esclavo en Egipto y cuidarás de poner en práctica estos preceptos.
13 'You must celebrate the feast of Shelters for seven days, at the time when you gather in the produceof your threshing-floor and winepress.	13 Celebrarás la fiesta de las Tiendas durante siete días, cuando hayas recogido la cosecha de tu era y de tu lagar.
14 You must rejoice at your feast, you, your son and your daughter, your serving men and women, theLevite, the foreigner, the orphan and the widow living in your community.	14 Durante tu fiesta te regocijarás, tú, tu hijo y tu hija, tu siervo y tu sierva, el levita, el forastero, el huérfano y la viuda que viven en tus ciudades.
15 For seven days, you must celebrate the feast for Yahweh your God in the place chosen by Yahweh;for Yahweh your God wil bless you in al your produce and in al your undertakings, so that you will have goodreason to rejoice.	15 Durante siete días harás fiesta a Yahveh tu Dios en el lugar elegido por Yahveh; porque Yahveh tu Dios te bendecirá en todas tus cosechas y en todas tus obras, y serás plenamente feliz.
16 'Three times a year al your menfolk must appear before Yahweh your God in the place chosen byhim: at the feast of Unleavened Bread, at the feast of Weeks, at the feast of Shelters. No one must appearempty-handed before Yahweh,	16 Tres veces al año se presentarán todos tus varones ante Yahveh tu Dios, en el lugar elegido por él: en la fiesta de los Azimos, en la fiesta de las Semanas, y en la fiesta de las Tiendas. Nadie se presentará ante Yahveh con las manos vacías;
17 but each must give what he can, in proportion to the blessing which Yahweh your God has bestowedon you.	17 sino que cada cual ofrecerá el don de su mano, según la bendición que Yahveh tu Dios te haya otorgado.
18 'You must appoint judges and scribes in each of the towns that Yahweh your God is giving you, foral your tribes; these are to mete out proper justice to the people.	18 Establecerás jueces y escribas para tus tribus en cada una de las ciudades que Yahveh te da; ellos juzgarán al pueblo con juicios justos.
19 You must not pervert the law; you must be impartial; you wil take no bribes, for a bribe blinds theeyes of the wise and ruins the cause of the upright.	19 No torcerás el derecho, no harás acepción de personas, no aceptarás soborno, porque el soborno cierra los ojos de los sabios y corrompe las palabras de los justos.
20 Strict justice must be your ideal, so that you may live long in possession of the country given you byYahweh your God.	20 Justicia, sólo justicia has de buscar, para que vivas y poseas la tierra que Yahveh tu Dios te da.
21 'You must not plant a sacred pole of any wood whatsoever beside the altar which you erect forYahweh your God;	21 No plantarás cipo, ni ninguna clase de árbol, junto al altar de Yahveh tu Dios que hayas construido;
22 nor wil you set up a standing-stone, a thing Yahweh your God would abhor.'	22 y no te erigirás estela, cosa que detesta Yahveh tu Dios.
