Luke 13

NEW JERUSALEM	BIBBIA TINTORI
1 It was just about this time that some people arrived and told him about the Galileans whose bloodPilate had mingled with that of their sacrifices. At this he said to them,	1 In quello stesso tempo vennero alcuni a raccontargli di quei Galilei, il sangue dei quali Pilato aveva mischiato a quello dei loro sacrifizi.
2 'Do you suppose that these Galileans were worse sinners than any others, that this should havehappened to them?	2 E Gesù rispose loro: Credete forse che quei Galilei fossero più peccatori degli altri Galilei, perchè han sofferto queste cose?
3 They were not, I tel you. No; but unless you repent you wil al perish as they did.	3 No, vi dico, e se non farete penitenza, perirete allo stesso modo.
4 Or those eighteen on whom the tower at Siloam fel , kil ing them al ? Do you suppose that they weremore guilty than al the other people living in Jerusalem?	4 E quei diciotto, sui quali cadde la torre di Siloe e li uccise, vi credete forse che fossero più colpevoli di tutti gli abitanti di Gerusalemme?
5 They were not, I tel you. No; but unless you repent you wil al perish as they did.'	5 No, vi dico; ma se non farete penitenza perirete tutti allo stesso modo.
6 He told this parable, 'A man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard, and he came looking for fruit on itbut found none.	6 Disse pure questa parabola: Uno aveva un fico piantato nella sua vigna, e andò a cercarvi i frutti e non ne trovò.
7 He said to his vinedresser, "For three years now I have been coming to look for fruit on this fig tree andfinding none. Cut it down: why should it be taking up the ground?"	7 Allora disse al vignaiolo: Ecco, da tre anni vengo a cercar frutto da questo fico e non ne trovo; taglialo: a che sta ancora lì, ad occupare il terreno?
8 "Sir," the man replied, "leave it one more year and give me time to dig round it and manure it:	8 Ma l'altro gli rispose: Signore, lascialo ancora quest'anno, finché io l'abbia zappato, e concimato intorno,
9 it may bear fruit next year; if not, then you can cut it down." '	9 se mai facesse frutto, altrimenti lo taglierai.
10 One Sabbath day he was teaching in one of the synagogues,	10 Or egli in giorno di sabato stava ammaestrando in una sina­goga.
11 and there before him was a woman who for eighteen years had been possessed by a spirit thatcrippled her; she was bent double and quite unable to stand upright.	11 Ed ecco una donna che aveva da diciottenni uno spirito d'infermità ed era così rattrappita da non poter punto guardare in su.
12 When Jesus saw her he cal ed her over and said, 'Woman, you are freed from your disability,'	12 Gesù come l'ebbe veduta, la chiamò a sè e le disse: Donna, sei liberata dalla tua infermità.
13 and he laid his hands on her. And at once she straightened up, and she glorified God.	13 E le impose le mani: e in quell'istante ella si raddrizzò e glorificava Dio.
14 But the president of the synagogue was indignant because Jesus had healed on the Sabbath, and headdressed all those present saying, 'There are six days when work is to be done. Come and be healed on one ofthose days and not on the Sabbath.'	14 Ma il capo della sinagoga, indignato perchè Gesù l'aveva guarita di sabato, prese a dire al popolo: Ci sono sei giorni per lavorare, venite dunque in quelli a farvi guarire e non di sabato.
15 But the Lord answered him and said, 'Hypocrites! Is there one of you who does not untie his ox or hisdonkey from the manger on the Sabbath and take it out for watering?	15 Ma il Signore gli replicò: Ipocriti, ognun di voi non scioglie di sabato il suo bove o l'asino dalla mangiatoia e lo mena a bere?
16 And this woman, a daughter of Abraham whom Satan has held bound these eighteen years -- was itnot right to untie this bond on the Sabbath day?'	16 E questa figliola d'Àbramo, tenuta legata da Satana per ben diciotto anni, non doveva essere liberata da queste catene in giorno di sabato?
17 When he said this, all his adversaries were covered with confusion, and al the people were overjoyedat al the wonders he worked.	17 E mentre diceva questo ne arrossivano ì suoi nemici, e tutta la folla godeva delle opere gloriose da lui compite.
18 He went on to say, 'What is the kingdom of God like? What shall I compare it with?	18 Diceva adunque: A che è simile il regno di Dio, a che lo paragonerò?
19 It is like a mustard seed which a man took and threw into his garden: it grew and became a tree, andthe birds of the air sheltered in its branches.'	19 E' simile ad un granello di senapa che un uomo prese e seminò nel suo orto. E crebbe e diventò una gran pianta e gli uccelli del cielo riposavano tra i suoi rami.
20 Again he said, 'What shall I compare the kingdom of God with?	20 E di nuovo disse: A qual cosa paragonerò il regno di Dio?
21 It is like the yeast a woman took and mixed in with three measures of flour til it was leavened althrough.'	21 E' come il lievito che una donna prese e mescolò in tre misure di farina, finché tutta lievitasse.
22 Through towns and vil ages he went teaching, making his way to Jerusalem.	22 E così andava ammaestrando per città e villaggi, mentre era in cammino verso Gerusalemme.
23 Someone said to him, 'Sir, wil there be only a few saved?' He said to them,	23 E un tale gli disse: Signore, sono pochi quelli che si salvano? Ma Gesù rispose loro:
24 'Try your hardest to enter by the narrow door, because, I tell you, many wil try to enter and wil notsucceed.	24 Sforzatevi d'entrare per la porta stretta, perchè vi assicuro che molti cercheranno di entrare e non potranno.
25 'Once the master of the house has got up and locked the door, you may find yourself standingoutside knocking on the door, saying, "Lord, open to us," but he will answer, "I do not know where you comefrom."	25 Quando poi il padrone di casa sarà entrato e chiuderà la porta, voi comincerete, stando fuori, a bussare all'uscio, dicendo: Signore, aprici, ed egli rispondendo vi dirà: Io non so donde siate.
26 Then you wil start saying, "We once ate and drank in your company; you taught in our streets,"	26 Allora comincierete a dire: Noi abbiamo mangiato e bevuto con te e tu hai insegnato nelle nostre piazze.
27 but he wil reply, "I do not know where you come from; away from me, al evil doers!"	27 Ed egli risponderà: Io non so donde siate: via da me voi tutti, operatori d'iniquità.
28 'Then there wil be weeping and grinding of teeth, when you see Abraham and Isaac and Jacob andal the prophets in the kingdom of God, and yourselves thrown out.	28 Quivi sarà pianto, e stridor di denti, quando vedrete Abramo e Isacco e Giacobbe, e tutti i profeti nel regno di Dio, e voi cacciati fuori.
29 And people from east and west, from north and south, wil come and sit down at the feast in thekingdom of God.	29 E dall'oriente e dall'occidente e dai settentrione e dal mezzogiorno verranno a porsi a mensa nel regno di Dio.
30 'Look, there are those now last who will be first, and those now first who wil be last.'	30 Ed ecco vi sono degli ultimi che saranno primi e dei primi che saranno ultimi.
31 Just at this time some Pharisees came up. 'Go away,' they said. 'Leave this place, because Herodmeans to kill you.'	31 Lo stesso giorno alcuni Farisei andarono a dirgli: Parti, vattene di qua, perchè Erode ti vuole uccidere.
32 He replied, 'You may go and give that fox this message: Look! Today and tomorrow I drive out devilsand heal, and on the third day I attain my end.	32 E rispose loro: Andate a dire a quella volpe: Ecco io caccio i demonii ed opero guarigioni oggi o domani, ed il terzo giorno sono ai termine.
33 But for today and tomorrow and the next day I must go on, since it would not be right for a prophet todie outside Jerusalem.	33 Ma bisogna che io cammini oggi, domani e doman l'altro, perchè non è possibile che un profeta muoia fuori di Gerusalemme.
34 'Jerusalem, Jerusalem, you that kil the prophets and stone those who are sent to you! How oftenhave I longed to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her brood under her wings, and you refused!	34 GeruSalemme, Gerusalemme, che incedi i profetile lapidi coloro che ti son mandati, quante volte ho voluto radunare i tuoi figli come l'uccello sotto le ali i piccoli del suo nido, e non hai voluto!
35 Look! Your house wil be left to you. Yes, I promise you, you shal not see me till the time comeswhen you are saying: Blessed is he who is coming in the name of the Lord!'	35 Ecco vi sarà lasciata deserta la vostra casa. E vi assicuro che non mi vedrete più finché non venga il giorno che diciate: Benedetto colui che viene nel nome del Signore.
