Luke 13

NEW JERUSALEM	BIBBIA RICCIOTTI
1 It was just about this time that some people arrived and told him about the Galileans whose bloodPilate had mingled with that of their sacrifices. At this he said to them,	1 - Nello stesso tempo vennero alcuni a riferirgli il fatto dei Galilei il cui sangue era stato da Pilato mescolato con quello dei loro sacrifici.
2 'Do you suppose that these Galileans were worse sinners than any others, that this should havehappened to them?	2 E Gesù rispose loro: «Pensate voi che quei Galilei fossero peccatori più di tutti gli altri Galilei, perchè hanno sofferto a quel modo?
3 They were not, I tel you. No; but unless you repent you wil al perish as they did.	3 No, vi dico; ma se non farete penitenza, perirete tutti allo stesso modo.
4 Or those eighteen on whom the tower at Siloam fel , kil ing them al ? Do you suppose that they weremore guilty than al the other people living in Jerusalem?	4 Oppure credete voi che quei diciotto sui quali cadde la torre di Siloe e li uccise, fossero più colpevoli di tutti gli altri abitanti di Gerusalemme?
5 They were not, I tel you. No; but unless you repent you wil al perish as they did.'	5 No, vi dico, ma se non farete penitenza, perirete tutti allo stesso modo».
6 He told this parable, 'A man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard, and he came looking for fruit on itbut found none.	6 Raccontò inoltre questa parabola: «Un uomo aveva un fico piantato nella sua vigna, e andato a cercarvi frutti, non ne trovò.
7 He said to his vinedresser, "For three years now I have been coming to look for fruit on this fig tree andfinding none. Cut it down: why should it be taking up the ground?"	7 Allora disse al vignaiuolo: - Ecco sono già tre anni che vengo a cercar frutti da questo fico e non ne trovo; taglialo; perchè continua ad ingombrare inutilmente il terreno? -
8 "Sir," the man replied, "leave it one more year and give me time to dig round it and manure it:	8 Ma l'altro rispose: - Signore, lascialo ancora quest'anno, finchè io l'abbia scalzato intorno e concimato;
9 it may bear fruit next year; if not, then you can cut it down." '	9 e se farà frutto in avvenire, bene; se no, lo taglierai-».
10 One Sabbath day he was teaching in one of the synagogues,	10 Gesù insegnava in una sinagoga in giorno di sabato.
11 and there before him was a woman who for eighteen years had been possessed by a spirit thatcrippled her; she was bent double and quite unable to stand upright.	11 Ora c'era lì una donna, che da diciotto anni era posseduta da uno spirito che la rendeva inferma ed era così rattrappita da non poter assolutamente raddrizzarsi.
12 When Jesus saw her he cal ed her over and said, 'Woman, you are freed from your disability,'	12 Gesù, vistala, la chiamò a sè e le disse: «Donna, sei liberata dalla tua infermità».
13 and he laid his hands on her. And at once she straightened up, and she glorified God.	13 Le impose le mani e in quell'istante ella si raddrizzò e glorificava Iddio.
14 But the president of the synagogue was indignant because Jesus had healed on the Sabbath, and headdressed all those present saying, 'There are six days when work is to be done. Come and be healed on one ofthose days and not on the Sabbath.'	14 Ma il capo della sinagoga indignato che Gesù l'avesse guarita in sabato, prese a dire alla folla: «Ci sono sei giorni per lavorare; venite dunque a farvi guarire in quelli, e non di sabato!».
15 But the Lord answered him and said, 'Hypocrites! Is there one of you who does not untie his ox or hisdonkey from the manger on the Sabbath and take it out for watering?	15 Ma il Signore gli rispose così: «Ipocriti, ognuno di voi non scioglie di sabato il suo bue o l'asino dalla mangiatoia per condurli a bere?
16 And this woman, a daughter of Abraham whom Satan has held bound these eighteen years -- was itnot right to untie this bond on the Sabbath day?'	16 E questa figlia d'Abramo, che il demonio tien legata da diciotto anni, non doveva essere sciolta da questo legame in giorno di sabato?».
17 When he said this, all his adversaries were covered with confusion, and al the people were overjoyedat al the wonders he worked.	17 Mentre diceva così, i suoi avversari dovettero arrossire e tutto il popolo si rallegrava delle cose meravigliose che egli faceva.
18 He went on to say, 'What is the kingdom of God like? What shall I compare it with?	18 Diceva ancora: «A che cosa è simile il regno di Dio, oppure a che cosa lo paragonerò?
19 It is like a mustard seed which a man took and threw into his garden: it grew and became a tree, andthe birds of the air sheltered in its branches.'	19 È simile a un granello di senapa che un uomo prese e seminò nel suo orto. E crebbe tanto che diventò un albero e gli uccelli del cielo si sono riparati tra i suoi rami».
20 Again he said, 'What shall I compare the kingdom of God with?	20 E disse pure: «A che cosa paragonerò il regno di Dio?
21 It is like the yeast a woman took and mixed in with three measures of flour til it was leavened althrough.'	21 È come il lievito che una donna prese e mescolò in tre staia di farina in modo che la pasta fosse tutta lievitata».
22 Through towns and vil ages he went teaching, making his way to Jerusalem.	22 Così mentre era incamminato verso Gerusalemme andava ammaestrando per città e villaggi.
23 Someone said to him, 'Sir, wil there be only a few saved?' He said to them,	23 Un tale gli domandò: «Signore, son pochi quelli che si salvano?». Rispose loro:
24 'Try your hardest to enter by the narrow door, because, I tell you, many wil try to enter and wil notsucceed.	24 «Sforzatevi d'entrare per la porta stretta, perchè, vi dico, molti cercheranno d'entrare e non vi riusciranno.
25 'Once the master of the house has got up and locked the door, you may find yourself standingoutside knocking on the door, saying, "Lord, open to us," but he will answer, "I do not know where you comefrom."	25 Quando il padron di casa sarà entrato e avrà chiusa la porta, e voi, stando di fuori, comincerete a picchiare alla porta, dicendo: - Signore, aprici -; egli vi risponderà: - Io non so donde voi siate. -
26 Then you wil start saying, "We once ate and drank in your company; you taught in our streets,"	26 Allora comincerete a dire: - Noi abbiamo mangiato e bevuto in tua presenza, e tu hai insegnato nelle nostre piazze. -
27 but he wil reply, "I do not know where you come from; away from me, al evil doers!"	27 Ed egli vi replicherà: - Io vi dico che non so donde voi siate; via da me voi tutti, operatori d'iniquità. -
28 'Then there wil be weeping and grinding of teeth, when you see Abraham and Isaac and Jacob andal the prophets in the kingdom of God, and yourselves thrown out.	28 Quivi sarà pianto e stridor di denti, quando vedrete Abramo, Isacco, Giacobbe e tutti i profeti, mentre voi siete cacciati fuori.
29 And people from east and west, from north and south, wil come and sit down at the feast in thekingdom of God.	29 E da oriente a da occidente, da settentrione e da mezzogiorno, ne verranno a porsi a mensa nel regno di Dio.
30 'Look, there are those now last who will be first, and those now first who wil be last.'	30 E vi sono degli ultimi che saranno primi e dei primi che saranno ultimi».
31 Just at this time some Pharisees came up. 'Go away,' they said. 'Leave this place, because Herodmeans to kill you.'	31 Lo stesso giorno alcuni Farisei andarono a dirgli: «Parti e vattene via di qua, perchè Erode ti vuol uccidere».
32 He replied, 'You may go and give that fox this message: Look! Today and tomorrow I drive out devilsand heal, and on the third day I attain my end.	32 Egli rispose loro: «Andate a dire a quella volpe: - Io scaccio i demoni e opero guarigioni oggi e domani, e il terzo giorno sarò al termine. -
33 But for today and tomorrow and the next day I must go on, since it would not be right for a prophet todie outside Jerusalem.	33 Ma bisogna che io cammini oggi, domani e il giorno seguente, perchè non conviene che un profeta muoia fuori di Gerusalemme.
34 'Jerusalem, Jerusalem, you that kil the prophets and stone those who are sent to you! How oftenhave I longed to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her brood under her wings, and you refused!	34 Gerusalemme, Gerusalemme, che uccidi i profeti e lapidi coloro che ti sono mandati, quante volte ho voluto raccogliere i tuoi figliuoli, come la gallina raccoglie i suoi pulcini sotto le ali, e tu non l'hai voluto.
35 Look! Your house wil be left to you. Yes, I promise you, you shal not see me till the time comeswhen you are saying: Blessed is he who is coming in the name of the Lord!'	35 La vostra casa vi sarà lasciata deserta. E io vi dico che non mi vedrete più, finchè verrà il giorno in cui direte: - Benedetto colui che viene nel nome del Signore -».
