Luke 13

NEW JERUSALEM	BIBLIA
1 It was just about this time that some people arrived and told him about the Galileans whose bloodPilate had mingled with that of their sacrifices. At this he said to them,	1 En aquel mismo momento llegaron algunos que le contaron lo de los galileos, cuya sangre había mezclado Pilato con la de sus sacrificios.
2 'Do you suppose that these Galileans were worse sinners than any others, that this should havehappened to them?	2 Les respondió Jesús: «¿Pensáis que esos galileos eran más pecadores que todos los demás galileos, porque han padecido estas cosas?
3 They were not, I tel you. No; but unless you repent you wil al perish as they did.	3 No, os lo aseguro; y si no os convertís, todos pereceréis del mismo modo.
4 Or those eighteen on whom the tower at Siloam fel , kil ing them al ? Do you suppose that they weremore guilty than al the other people living in Jerusalem?	4 O aquellos dieciocho sobre los que se desplomó la torre de Siloé matándolos, ¿pensáis que eran más culpables que los demás hombres que habitaban en Jerusalén?
5 They were not, I tel you. No; but unless you repent you wil al perish as they did.'	5 No, os lo aseguro; y si no os convertís, todos pereceréis del mismo modo».
6 He told this parable, 'A man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard, and he came looking for fruit on itbut found none.	6 Les dijo esta parábola: «Un hombre tenía plantada una higuera en su viña, y fue a buscar fruto en ella y no lo encontró.
7 He said to his vinedresser, "For three years now I have been coming to look for fruit on this fig tree andfinding none. Cut it down: why should it be taking up the ground?"	7 Dijo entonces al viñador: “Ya hace tres años que vengo a buscar fruto en esta higuera, y no lo encuentro; córtala; ¿para qué va a cansar la tierra?”
8 "Sir," the man replied, "leave it one more year and give me time to dig round it and manure it:	8 Pero él le respondió: “Señor, déjala por este año todavía y mientras tanto cavaré a su alrededor y echaré abono,
9 it may bear fruit next year; if not, then you can cut it down." '	9 por si da fruto en adelante; y si no da, la cortas.”»
10 One Sabbath day he was teaching in one of the synagogues,	10 Estaba un sábado enseñando en una sinagoga,
11 and there before him was a woman who for eighteen years had been possessed by a spirit thatcrippled her; she was bent double and quite unable to stand upright.	11 y había una mujer a la que un espíritu tenía enferma hacía dieciocho años; estaba encorvada, y no podía en modo alguno enderezarse.
12 When Jesus saw her he cal ed her over and said, 'Woman, you are freed from your disability,'	12 Al verla Jesús, la llamó y le dijo: «Mujer, quedas libre de tu enfermedad».
13 and he laid his hands on her. And at once she straightened up, and she glorified God.	13 Y le impuso las manos. Y al instante se enderezó, y glorificaba a Dios.
14 But the president of the synagogue was indignant because Jesus had healed on the Sabbath, and headdressed all those present saying, 'There are six days when work is to be done. Come and be healed on one ofthose days and not on the Sabbath.'	14 Pero el jefe de la sinagoga, indignado de que Jesús hubiese hecho una curación en sábado, decía a la gente: «Hay seis días en que se puede trabajar; venid, pues, esos días a curaros, y no en día de sábado».
15 But the Lord answered him and said, 'Hypocrites! Is there one of you who does not untie his ox or hisdonkey from the manger on the Sabbath and take it out for watering?	15 Replicóle el Señor: «¡Hipócritas! ¿No desatáis del pesebre todos vosotros en sábado a vuestro buey o vuestro asno para llevarlos a abrevar?
16 And this woman, a daughter of Abraham whom Satan has held bound these eighteen years -- was itnot right to untie this bond on the Sabbath day?'	16 Y a ésta, que es hija de Abraham, a la que ató Satanás hace ya dieciocho años, ¿no estaba bien desatarla de esta ligadura en día de sábado?»
17 When he said this, all his adversaries were covered with confusion, and al the people were overjoyedat al the wonders he worked.	17 Y cuando decía estas cosas, sus adversarios quedaban confundidos, mientras que toda la gente se alegraba con las maravillas que hacía.
18 He went on to say, 'What is the kingdom of God like? What shall I compare it with?	18 Decía, pues: «¿A qué es semejante el Reino de Dios? ¿A qué lo compararé?
19 It is like a mustard seed which a man took and threw into his garden: it grew and became a tree, andthe birds of the air sheltered in its branches.'	19 Es semejante a un grano de mostaza, que tomó un hombre y lo puso en su jardín, y creció hasta hacerse árbol, y las aves del cielo anidaron en sus ramas».
20 Again he said, 'What shall I compare the kingdom of God with?	20 Dijo también: «¿A qué compararé el Reino de Dios?
21 It is like the yeast a woman took and mixed in with three measures of flour til it was leavened althrough.'	21 Es semejante a la levadura que tomó una mujer y la metió en tres medidas de harina, hasta que fermentó todo».
22 Through towns and vil ages he went teaching, making his way to Jerusalem.	22 Atravesaba ciudades y pueblos enseñando, mientras caminaba hacia Jerusalén.
23 Someone said to him, 'Sir, wil there be only a few saved?' He said to them,	23 Uno le dijo: «Señor, ¿son pocos los que se salvan?» El les dijo:
24 'Try your hardest to enter by the narrow door, because, I tell you, many wil try to enter and wil notsucceed.	24 «Luchad por entrar por la puerta estrecha, porque, os digo, muchos pretenderán entrar y no podrán.
25 'Once the master of the house has got up and locked the door, you may find yourself standingoutside knocking on the door, saying, "Lord, open to us," but he will answer, "I do not know where you comefrom."	25 «Cuando el dueño de la casa se levante y cierre la puerta, os pondréis los que estéis fuera a llamar a la puerta, diciendo: “¡Señor, ábrenos!” Y os responderá: “No sé de dónde sois.”
26 Then you wil start saying, "We once ate and drank in your company; you taught in our streets,"	26 Entonces empezaréis a decir: “Hemos comido y bebido contigo, y has enseñado en nuestras plazas”;
27 but he wil reply, "I do not know where you come from; away from me, al evil doers!"	27 y os volverá a decir: “No sé de dónde sois. ¡Retiraos de mí, todos los agentes de injusticia!”
28 'Then there wil be weeping and grinding of teeth, when you see Abraham and Isaac and Jacob andal the prophets in the kingdom of God, and yourselves thrown out.	28 «Allí será el llanto y el rechinar de dientes, cuando veáis a Abraham, Isaac y Jacob y a todos los profetas en el Reino de Dios, mientras a vosotros os echan fuera.
29 And people from east and west, from north and south, wil come and sit down at the feast in thekingdom of God.	29 Y vendrán de oriente y occidente, del norte y del sur, y se pondrán a la mesa en el Reino de Dios.
30 'Look, there are those now last who will be first, and those now first who wil be last.'	30 «Y hay últimos que serán primeros, y hay primeros que serán últimos».
31 Just at this time some Pharisees came up. 'Go away,' they said. 'Leave this place, because Herodmeans to kill you.'	31 En aquel mismo momento se acercaron algunos fariseos, y le dijeron: «Sal y vete de aquí, porque Herodes quiere matarte».
32 He replied, 'You may go and give that fox this message: Look! Today and tomorrow I drive out devilsand heal, and on the third day I attain my end.	32 Y él les dijo: «Id a decir a ese zorro: Yo expulso demonios y llevo a cabo curaciones hoy y mañana, y al tercer día soy consumado.
33 But for today and tomorrow and the next day I must go on, since it would not be right for a prophet todie outside Jerusalem.	33 Pero conviene que hoy y mañana y pasado siga adelante, porque no cabe que un profeta perezca fuera de Jerusalén.
34 'Jerusalem, Jerusalem, you that kil the prophets and stone those who are sent to you! How oftenhave I longed to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her brood under her wings, and you refused!	34 «¡Jerusalén, Jerusalén!, la que mata a los profetas y apedrea a los que le son enviados. ¡Cuántas veces he querido reunir a tus hijos, como una gallina su nidada bajo las alas, y no habéis querido!
35 Look! Your house wil be left to you. Yes, I promise you, you shal not see me till the time comeswhen you are saying: Blessed is he who is coming in the name of the Lord!'	35 Pues bien, se os va a dejar vuestra casa. Os digo que no me volveréis a ver hasta que llegue el día en que digáis: ¡Bendito el que viene en nombre del Señor!»
