Luke 10

NEW JERUSALEM	BIBBIA CEI 2008
1 After this the Lord appointed seventy-two others and sent them out ahead of him in pairs, to all thetowns and places he himself would be visiting.	1 Dopo questi fatti il Signore designò altri settantadue e li inviò a due a due davanti a sé in ogni città e luogo dove stava per recarsi.
2 And he said to them, 'The harvest is rich but the labourers are few, so ask the Lord of the harvest tosend labourers to do his harvesting.	2 Diceva loro: «La messe è abbondante, ma sono pochi gli operai! Pregate dunque il signore della messe, perché mandi operai nella sua messe!
3 Start off now, but look, I am sending you out like lambs among wolves.	3 Andate: ecco, vi mando come agnelli in mezzo a lupi;
4 Take no purse with you, no haversack, no sandals. Salute no one on the road.	4 non portate borsa, né sacca, né sandali e non fermatevi a salutare nessuno lungo la strada.
5 Whatever house you enter, let your first words be, "Peace to this house!"	5 In qualunque casa entriate, prima dite: “Pace a questa casa!”.
6 And if a man of peace lives there, your peace will go and rest on him; if not, it will come back to you.	6 Se vi sarà un figlio della pace, la vostra pace scenderà su di lui, altrimenti ritornerà su di voi.
7 Stay in the same house, taking what food and drink they have to offer, for the labourer deserves hiswages; do not move from house to house.	7 Restate in quella casa, mangiando e bevendo di quello che hanno, perché chi lavora ha diritto alla sua ricompensa. Non passate da una casa all’altra.
8 Whenever you go into a town where they make you welcome, eat what is put before you.	8 Quando entrerete in una città e vi accoglieranno, mangiate quello che vi sarà offerto,
9 Cure those in it who are sick, and say, "The kingdom of God is very near to you."	9 guarite i malati che vi si trovano, e dite loro: “È vicino a voi il regno di Dio”.
10 But whenever you enter a town and they do not make you welcome, go out into its streets and say,	10 Ma quando entrerete in una città e non vi accoglieranno, uscite sulle sue piazze e dite:
11 "We wipe off the very dust of your town that clings to our feet, and leave it with you. Yet be sure ofthis: the kingdom of God is very near."	11 “Anche la polvere della vostra città, che si è attaccata ai nostri piedi, noi la scuotiamo contro di voi; sappiate però che il regno di Dio è vicino”.
12 I tel you, on the great Day it wil be more bearable for Sodom than for that town.	12 Io vi dico che, in quel giorno, Sòdoma sarà trattata meno duramente di quella città.
13 'Alas for you, Chorazin! Alas for you, Bethsaida! For if the miracles done in you had been done inTyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago, sitting in sackcloth and ashes.	13 Guai a te, Corazìn, guai a te, Betsàida! Perché, se a Tiro e a Sidone fossero avvenuti i prodigi che avvennero in mezzo a voi, già da tempo, vestite di sacco e cosparse di cenere, si sarebbero convertite.
14 And still, it wil be more bearable for Tyre and Sidon at the Judgement than for you.	14 Ebbene, nel giudizio, Tiro e Sidone saranno trattate meno duramente di voi.
15 And as for you, Capernaum, did you want to be raised high as heaven? You shal be flung down tohell.	15 E tu, Cafàrnao, sarai forse innalzata fino al cielo? Fino agli inferi precipiterai!
16 'Anyone who listens to you listens to me; anyone who rejects you rejects me, and those who rejectme reject the one who sent me.'	16 Chi ascolta voi ascolta me, chi disprezza voi disprezza me. E chi disprezza me disprezza colui che mi ha mandato».
17 The seventy-two came back rejoicing. 'Lord,' they said, 'even the devils submit to us when we useyour name.'	17 I settantadue tornarono pieni di gioia, dicendo: «Signore, anche i demòni si sottomettono a noi nel tuo nome».
18 He said to them, 'I watched Satan fall like lightning from heaven.	18 Egli disse loro: «Vedevo Satana cadere dal cielo come una folgore.
19 Look, I have given you power to tread down serpents and scorpions and the whole strength of theenemy; nothing shal ever hurt you.	19 Ecco, io vi ho dato il potere di camminare sopra serpenti e scorpioni e sopra tutta la potenza del nemico: nulla potrà danneggiarvi.
20 Yet do not rejoice that the spirits submit to you; rejoice instead that your names are written inheaven.'	20 Non rallegratevi però perché i demòni si sottomettono a voi; rallegratevi piuttosto perché i vostri nomi sono scritti nei cieli».
21 Just at this time, fil ed with joy by the Holy Spirit, he said, 'I bless you, Father, Lord of heaven and ofearth, for hiding these things from the learned and the clever and revealing them to little children. Yes, Father,for that is what it has pleased you to do.	21 In quella stessa ora Gesù esultò di gioia nello Spirito Santo e disse: «Ti rendo lode, o Padre, Signore del cielo e della terra, perché hai nascosto queste cose ai sapienti e ai dotti e le hai rivelate ai piccoli. Sì, o Padre, perché così hai deciso nella tua benevolenza.
22 Everything has been entrusted to me by my Father; and no one knows who the Son is except theFather, and who the Father is except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal him.'	22 Tutto è stato dato a me dal Padre mio e nessuno sa chi è il Figlio se non il Padre, né chi è il Padre se non il Figlio e colui al quale il Figlio vorrà rivelarlo».
23 Then turning to his disciples he spoke to them by themselves, 'Blessed are the eyes that see whatyou see,	23 E, rivolto ai discepoli, in disparte, disse: «Beati gli occhi che vedono ciò che voi vedete.
24 for I tel you that many prophets and kings wanted to see what you see, and never saw it; to hearwhat you hear, and never heard it.'	24 Io vi dico che molti profeti e re hanno voluto vedere ciò che voi guardate, ma non lo videro, e ascoltare ciò che voi ascoltate, ma non lo ascoltarono».
25 And now a lawyer stood up and, to test him, asked, 'Master, what must I do to inherit eternal life?'	25 Ed ecco, un dottore della Legge si alzò per metterlo alla prova e chiese: «Maestro, che cosa devo fare per ereditare la vita eterna?».
26 He said to him, 'What is written in the Law? What is your reading of it?'	26 Gesù gli disse: «Che cosa sta scritto nella Legge? Come leggi?».
27 He replied, 'You must love the Lord your God with al your heart, with al your soul, with all yourstrength, and with al your mind, and your neighbour as yourself.'	27 Costui rispose: «Amerai il Signore tuo Dio con tutto il tuo cuore, con tutta la tua anima, con tutta la tua forza e con tutta la tua mente, e il tuo prossimo come te stesso».
28 Jesus said to him, 'You have answered right, do this and life is yours.'	28 Gli disse: «Hai risposto bene; fa’ questo e vivrai».
29 But the man was anxious to justify himself and said to Jesus, 'And who is my neighbour?'	29 Ma quello, volendo giustificarsi, disse a Gesù: «E chi è mio prossimo?».
30 In answer Jesus said, 'A man was once on his way down from Jerusalem to Jericho and fel into thehands of bandits; they stripped him, beat him and then made off, leaving him half dead.	30 Gesù riprese: «Un uomo scendeva da Gerusalemme a Gerico e cadde nelle mani dei briganti, che gli portarono via tutto, lo percossero a sangue e se ne andarono, lasciandolo mezzo morto.
31 Now a priest happened to be travel ing down the same road, but when he saw the man, he passed byon the other side.	31 Per caso, un sacerdote scendeva per quella medesima strada e, quando lo vide, passò oltre.
32 In the same way a Levite who came to the place saw him, and passed by on the other side.	32 Anche un levita, giunto in quel luogo, vide e passò oltre.
33 But a Samaritan travel er who came on him was moved with compassion when he saw him.	33 Invece un Samaritano, che era in viaggio, passandogli accanto, vide e ne ebbe compassione.
34 He went up to him and bandaged his wounds, pouring oil and wine on them. He then lifted him ontohis own mount and took him to an inn and looked after him.	34 Gli si fece vicino, gli fasciò le ferite, versandovi olio e vino; poi lo caricò sulla sua cavalcatura, lo portò in un albergo e si prese cura di lui.
35 Next day, he took out two denari and handed them to the innkeeper and said, "Look after him, andon my way back I wil make good any extra expense you have."	35 Il giorno seguente, tirò fuori due denari e li diede all’albergatore, dicendo: “Abbi cura di lui; ciò che spenderai in più, te lo pagherò al mio ritorno”.
36 Which of these three, do you think, proved himself a neighbour to the man who fel into the bandits'hands?'	36 Chi di questi tre ti sembra sia stato prossimo di colui che è caduto nelle mani dei briganti?».
37 He replied, 'The one who showed pity towards him.' Jesus said to him, 'Go, and do the sameyourself.'	37 Quello rispose: «Chi ha avuto compassione di lui». Gesù gli disse: «Va’ e anche tu fa’ così».
38 In the course of their journey he came to a vil age, and a woman named Martha welcomed him intoher house.	38 Mentre erano in cammino, entrò in un villaggio e una donna, di nome Marta, lo ospitò.
39 She had a sister called Mary, who sat down at the Lord's feet and listened to him speaking.	39 Ella aveva una sorella, di nome Maria, la quale, seduta ai piedi del Signore, ascoltava la sua parola.
40 Now Martha, who was distracted with all the serving, came to him and said, 'Lord, do you not carethat my sister is leaving me to do the serving al by myself? Please tel her to help me.'	40 Marta invece era distolta per i molti servizi. Allora si fece avanti e disse: «Signore, non t’importa nulla che mia sorella mi abbia lasciata sola a servire? Dille dunque che mi aiuti».
41 But the Lord answered, 'Martha, Martha,' he said, 'you worry and fret about so many things,	41 Ma il Signore le rispose: «Marta, Marta, tu ti affanni e ti agiti per molte cose,
42 and yet few are needed, indeed only one. It is Mary who has chosen the better part, and it is not to betaken from her.'	42 ma di una cosa sola c’è bisogno. Maria ha scelto la parte migliore, che non le sarà tolta».
