Mark 7

NEW JERUSALEM	EL LIBRO DEL PUEBLO DE DIOS
1 The Pharisees and some of the scribes who had come from Jerusalem gathered round him,	1 Los fariseos con algunos escribas llegados de Jerusalén se acercaron a Jesús,
2 and they noticed that some of his disciples were eating with unclean hands, that is, without washingthem.	2 y vieron que algunos de sus discípulos comían con las manos impuras, es decir, sin lavar.
3 For the Pharisees, and all the Jews, keep the tradition of the elders and never eat without washing theirarms as far as the elbow;	3 Los fariseos, en efecto, y los judíos en general, no comen sin lavarse antes cuidadosamente las manos, siguiendo la tradición de sus antepasados;
4 and on returning from the market place they never eat without first sprinkling themselves. There arealso many other observances which have been handed down to them to keep, concerning the washing of cupsand pots and bronze dishes.	4 y al volver del mercado, no comen sin hacer primero las abluciones. Además, hay muchas otras prácticas, a las que están aferrados por tradición, como el lavado de los vasos, de las jarras y de la vajilla de bronce.
5 So the Pharisees and scribes asked him, 'Why do your disciples not respect the tradition of the eldersbut eat their food with unclean hands?'	5 Entonces los fariseos y los escribas preguntaron a Jesús: «¿Por qué tus discípulos no proceden de acuerdo con la tradición de nuestros antepasados, sino que comen con las manos impuras?».
6 He answered, 'How rightly Isaiah prophesied about you hypocrites in the passage of scripture: Thispeople honours me only with lip-service, while their hearts are far from me.	6 El les respondió: «¡Hipócritas! Bien profetizó de ustedes Isaías, en el pasaje de la Escritura que dice: Este pueblo me honra con los labios, pero su corazón está lejos de mí.
7 Their reverence of me is worthless; the lessons they teach are nothing but human commandments.	7 En vano me rinde culto: las doctrinas que enseñan no son sino preceptos humanos.
8 You put aside the commandment of God to observe human traditions.'	8 Ustedes dejan de lado el mandamiento de Dios, por seguir la tradición de los hombres».
9 And he said to them, 'How ingeniously you get round the commandment of God in order to preserveyour own tradition!	9 Y les decía: «Por mantenerse fieles a su tradición, ustedes descartan tranquilamente el mandamiento de Dios.
10 For Moses said: Honour your father and your mother, and, Anyone who curses father or mother mustbe put to death.	10 Porque Moisés dijo: Honra a tu padre y a tu madre, y además: El que maldice a su padre y a su madre será condenado a muerte.
11 But you say, "If a man says to his father or mother: Anything I have that I might have used to help youis Korban (that is, dedicated to God),"	11 En cambio, ustedes afirman: «Si alguien dice a su padre o a su madre: Declaro "corbán" –es decir, ofrenda sagrada– todo aquello con lo que podría ayudarte...»
12 then he is forbidden from that moment to do anything for his father or mother.	12 En ese caso, le permiten no hacer más nada por su padre o por su madre.
13 In this way you make God's word ineffective for the sake of your tradition which you have handeddown. And you do many other things like this.'	13 Así anulan la palabra de Dios por la tradición que ustedes mismos se han transmitido. ¡Y como estas, hacen muchas otras cosas!».
14 He called the people to him again and said, 'Listen to me, al of you, and understand.	14 Y Jesús, llamando otra vez a la gente, les dijo: «Escúchenme todos y entiéndanlo bien.
15 Nothing that goes into someone from outside can make that person unclean; it is the things that comeout of someone that make that person unclean.	15 Ninguna cosa externa que entra en el hombre puede mancharlo; lo que lo hace impuro es aquello que sale del hombre.
16 Anyone who has ears for listening should listen!'	16 ¡Si alguien tiene oídos para oír, que oiga!».
17 When he had gone into the house, away from the crowd, his disciples questioned him about theparable.	17 Cuando se apartó de la multitud y entró en la casa, sus discípulos le preguntaron por el sentido de esa parábola.
18 He said to them, 'Even you -- don't you understand? Can't you see that nothing that goes intosomeone from outside can make that person unclean,	18 El les dijo: «¿Ni siquiera ustedes son capaces de comprender? ¿No saben que nada de lo que entra de afuera en el hombre puede mancharlo,
19 because it goes not into the heart but into the stomach and passes into the sewer?' (Thus hepronounced al foods clean.)	19 porque eso no va al corazón sino al vientre, y después se elimina en lugares retirados?». Así Jesús declaraba que eran puros todos los alimentos.
20 And he went on, 'It is what comes out of someone that makes that person unclean.	20 Luego agregó: «Lo que sale del hombre es lo que lo hace impuro.
21 For it is from within, from the heart, that evil intentions emerge: fornication, theft, murder,	21 Porque es del interior, del corazón de los hombres, de donde provienen las malas intenciones, las fornicaciones, los robos, los homicidios,
22 adultery, avarice, malice, deceit, indecency, envy, slander, pride, fol y.	22 los adulterios, la avaricia, la maldad, los engaños, las deshonestidades, la envidia, la difamación, el orgullo, el desatino.
23 Al these evil things come from within and make a person unclean.'	23 Todas estas cosas malas proceden del interior y son las que manchan al hombre».
24 He left that place and set out for the territory of Tyre. There he went into a house and did not wantanyone to know he was there; but he could not pass unrecognised.	24 Después Jesús partió de allí y fue a la región de Tiro. Entró en una casa y no quiso que nadie lo supiera, pero no pudo permanecer oculto.
25 At once a woman whose little daughter had an unclean spirit heard about him and came and fel at hisfeet.	25 En seguida una mujer cuya hija estaba poseída por un espíritu impuro, oyó hablar de él y fue a postrarse a sus pies.
26 Now this woman was a gentile, by birth a Syro-Phoenician, and she begged him to drive the devil outof her daughter.	26 Esta mujer, que era pagana y de origen sirofenicio, le pidió que expulsara de su hija al demonio.
27 And he said to her, 'The children should be fed first, because it is not fair to take the children's foodand throw it to little dogs.'	27 El le respondió: «Deja que antes se sacien los hijos; no está bien tomar el pan de los hijos para tirárselo a los cachorros».
28 But she spoke up, 'Ah yes, sir,' she replied, 'but little dogs under the table eat the scraps from thechildren.'	28 Pero ella le respondió: «Es verdad, Señor, pero los cachorros, debajo de la mesa, comen las migajas que dejan caer los hijos».
29 And he said to her, 'For saying this you may go home happy; the devil has gone out of your daughter.'	29 Entonces él le dijo: «A causa de lo que has dicho, puedes irte: el demonio ha salido de tu hija».
30 So she went off home and found the child lying on the bed and the devil gone.	30 Ella regresó a su casa y encontró a la niña acostada en la cama y liberada del demonio.
31 Returning from the territory of Tyre, he went by way of Sidon towards the Lake of Galilee, right throughthe Decapolis territory.	31 Cuando Jesús volvía de la región de Tiro, pasó por Sidón y fue hacia el mar de Galilea, atravesando el territorio de la Decápolis.
32 And they brought him a deaf man who had an impediment in his speech; and they asked him to lay hishand on him.	32 Entonces le presentaron a un sordomudo y le pidieron que le impusiera las manos.
33 He took him aside to be by themselves, away from the crowd, put his fingers into the man's ears andtouched his tongue with spittle.	33 Jesús lo separó de la multitud y, llevándolo aparte, le puso los dedos en las orejas y con su saliva le tocó la lengua.
34 Then looking up to heaven he sighed; and he said to him, 'Ephphatha,' that is, 'Be opened.'	34 Después, levantando los ojos al cielo, suspiró y dijo: «Efatá», que significa: «Abrete».
35 And his ears were opened, and at once the impediment of his tongue was loosened and he spokeclearly.	35 Y enseguida se abrieron sus oídos, se le soltó la lengua y comenzó a hablar normalmente.
36 And Jesus ordered them to tel no one about it, but the more he insisted, the more widely theyproclaimed it.	36 Jesús les mandó insistentemente que no dijeran nada a nadie, pero cuanto más insistía, ellos más lo proclamaban
37 Their admiration was unbounded, and they said, 'Everything he does is good, he makes the deaf hearand the dumb speak.'	37 y, en el colmo de la admiración, decían: «Todo lo ha hecho bien: hace oír a los sordos y hablar a los mudos».
