NEW JERUSALEM	BIBBIA RICCIOTTI
1 Disaster to the rebel ious, the befouled, the tyrannical city!	1 - Guai alla ribelle e contaminata, alla città d'oppressione!
2 She has not listened to the cal , she has not bowed to correction, she has not trusted in Yahweh, shehas not drawn near to her God.	2 Non ascoltò la voce di nessuno, non accolse l'avvertimento; non ebbe fiducia nel Signore e non ricorse al suo Dio.
3 The rulers she has are roaring lions, her judges are wolves of the wastelands which leave nothing overfor the morning,	3 I suoi principi dentro di essa sono altrettanti leoni ruggenti; i suoi giudici, lupi a sera che nulla avanzano pel mattino.
4 her prophets are braggarts, impostors, her priests have profaned what is holy and violated the Law.	4 I suoi profeti, frenetici, uomini perfidi; i suoi sacerdoti hanno profanato le cose sante e hanno agito ingiustamente contro la legge.
5 Yahweh the Upright is in her, he does no wrong; morning by morning he gives judgement, each dawnunfailingly (but the wrong-doer knows no shame).	5 Ma il giusto Iddio in mezzo ad essa non opera iniquità; di mattino in mattino darà in luce il suo giudizio e non lo terrà nascosto, ma l'empio non sente più la vergogna.
6 I have exterminated the nations, their corner-towers lie in ruins; I have emptied their streets, no onewalks through them; their cities have been destroyed and are now deserted and unpeopled.	6 Ho disperso le genti, ho distrutto i loro propugnacoli, ho desolato le loro vie senza più alcuno che vi transiti; le loro città sono deserte, senza più un uomo e senza più un abitante rimasto.
7 I thought, 'At least you wil fear me, at least you wil bow to correction,' and none of the punishments Ibrought on them will disappear from their view. But no, it only made them more anxious to do whatever wascorrupt.	7 Ed io avevo detto: - Forse così mi temerai e capirai l'avvertimento! e non sarò obbligato a spiantarla dal suo luogo, per effetto di tutti i castighi con i quali l'avevo visitata. - Ma invece essi sorsero ancora più solleciti a corrompersi colle loro cattive azioni.
8 So wait for me -- declares Yahweh -- for the day when I rise as accuser, for I am determined to gatherthe nations, to assemble the kingdoms, and on you to vent my fury, the whole heat of my anger (for the wholeearth will be devoured by the fire of my jealousy).	8 Perciò aspettami, dice il Signore, in un giorno avvenire, quando insorgerò, perchè ho deciso di radunare genti, di raccogliere regni e di versare su di loro la mia indignazione, tutto il furore dell'ira mia; perchè tutta la terra, dal fuoco della mia collera ingelosita, sarà consumata.
9 Yes, then I shall purge the lips of the peoples, so that all may invoke the name of Yahweh and servehim shoulder to shoulder.	9 Ma allora renderò pure le labbra delle genti, affinchè tutti invochino il nome del Signore, e unitamente sottomessi lo servano.
10 From beyond the rivers of Ethiopia, my suppliants will bring me tribute.	10 D'oltre i fiumi dell'Etiopia, i miei adoratori, i figli dei miei dispersi, mi recheranno doni.
11 When that Day comes you wil never again be ashamed of al the deeds with which you once rebelledagainst me, for I shal rid you of those who exult in your pride; never again wil you strut on my holy mountain.	11 In quel giorno non avrai più da arrossire, sopra tutte le tue azioni con cui ti sei resa colpevole verso di me; perchè allora avrò tolto via di mezzo a te i millantatori della tua superbia, e non continuerai più a farti un vanto del mio monte santo.
12 But in you I shal leave surviving a humble and lowly people,	12 E in mezzo a te lascerò un popolo umile e modesto; e porrà la sua speranza nel nome del Signore.
13 and those who are left in Israel wil take refuge in the name of Yahweh. They will do no wrong, wil tellno lies; nor wil a deceitful tongue be found in their mouths. But they will be able to graze and rest with no one toalarm them.	13 I superstiti d'Israele non commetteranno iniquità, nè proferiranno la menzogna e non si troverà nella loro bocca il linguaggio dell'impostura; perchè essi pascoleranno e riposeranno senza aver alcuno che li spaventi.
14 Shout for joy, daughter of Zion, Israel, shout aloud! Rejoice, exult with al your heart, daughter ofJerusalem!	14 Canta, o figlia di Sion, giubila Israele, godi e tripudia con tutto il cuore, o figlia di Gerusalemme!
15 Yahweh has repealed your sentence; he has turned your enemy away. Yahweh is king among you,Israel, you have nothing more to fear.	15 Il Signore ha revocato la tua sentenza, ha vòlto addietro i tuoi nemici; il re d'Israele, il Signore è in mezzo di te, e non temerai più alcun male.
16 When that Day comes, the message for Jerusalem wil be: Zion, have no fear, do not let your handsfal limp.	16 In quel giorno si dirà a Gerusalemme: - Non temere, Sion, non si infiacchiscano le tue mani!
17 Yahweh your God is there with you, the warrior-Saviour. He will rejoice over you with happy song, hewil renew you by his love, he will dance with shouts of joy for you,	17 Il Signore Dio tuo è in mezzo di te, è forte; Egli ti salverà; Egli si diletterà di te nella gioia, ti vagheggerà in silenzio, esulterà per te con canti di lodi. -
18 as on a day of festival. I have taken away your misfortune, no longer need you bear the disgrace of it.	18 E coloro che per fatuità si erano sviati dalla legge, li raccoglierò, perchè erano dei tuoi, affinchè tu non abbia più oltre da arrossire per essi.
19 I am taking action here and now against your oppressors. When that time comes I wil rescue thelame, and gather the strays, and I wil win them praise and renown when I restore their fortunes.	19 Ecco, io allora farò perire tutti quelli che ti avevano afflitta, e salverò la zoppicante, e raccoglierò quella sbandata, e li rimetterò in onore e in buona fama in tutti i luoghi della loro confusione.
20 At that time I shal be your guide, at the time when I gather you in, I shall give you praise and renownamong all the peoples of the earth when I restore your fortunes under your own eyes, declares Yahweh.	20 In quel tempo quando io vi avrò ricondotti e quando vi avrò radunati, vi rimetterò in fama e in lode presso tutti i popoli della terra, allorchè coi vostri stessi occhi mi vedrete convertire in libertà la vostra schiavitù, dice il Signore».
