1 Disaster to the rebel ious, the befouled, the tyrannical city!	1 Guai a te, città, che provochi l'ira, e fosti riscattata, o colomba.
2 She has not listened to the cal , she has not bowed to correction, she has not trusted in Yahweh, shehas not drawn near to her God.	2 Ella non ha ascoltato chi le parlava, e non ha abbracciate le ammonizioni; non pose sua fidanza nel Signore, e non si accostò al suo Dio.
3 The rulers she has are roaring lions, her judges are wolves of the wastelands which leave nothing overfor the morning,	3 I suoi principi in mezzo a lei come lioni, che mandan ruggiti: i suoi giudici lupi della sera, non lasciano nulla pel di dipoi.
4 her prophets are braggarts, impostors, her priests have profaned what is holy and violated the Law.	4 I suoi profeti, uomini furiosi, e infedeli: i suoi sacerdoti hanno profanato il santuario, hanno fatto violenza alla legge.
5 Yahweh the Upright is in her, he does no wrong; morning by morning he gives judgement, each dawnunfailingly (but the wrong-doer knows no shame).	5 Il Signore giusto, che è in mezzo a lei, non farà cosa ingiusta: di buon mattino, di buon mattino egli metterà alla luce il suo giudizio, e questo non sarà ascoso; ma l'iniquo non sa, che sia aver rossore.
6 I have exterminated the nations, their corner-towers lie in ruins; I have emptied their streets, no onewalks through them; their cities have been destroyed and are now deserted and unpeopled.	6 Io ho disperse le genti, e son rimase atterrate le loro fortezze: ho rendute deserte le loro contrade, né anima ormai vi passa, son desolate le loro città, non restandovi testa, né abitatore veruno.
7 I thought, 'At least you wil fear me, at least you wil bow to correction,' and none of the punishments Ibrought on them will disappear from their view. But no, it only made them more anxious to do whatever wascorrupt.	7 E dissi: Tu pur mi temerai, e abbraccerai l'ammonizione, affinchè non vada in rovina la tua casa per ragion di tutte le colpe, per le quali ti visitai. Questi però ogni studio posero in corrompere tutti ì loro affetti.
8 So wait for me -- declares Yahweh -- for the day when I rise as accuser, for I am determined to gatherthe nations, to assemble the kingdoms, and on you to vent my fury, the whole heat of my anger (for the wholeearth will be devoured by the fire of my jealousy).	8 Per la qual cosa, aspettami, dice il Signore, al giorno futuro di mia risurrezione; perocché mia volontà si è di congregare le genti, e di riunire i reami, e sopra costoro verserò il mio sdegno, e tutta l'ira, e il furor mio; perocché dal fuoco del mio zelo sarà divorata tutta la terra.
9 Yes, then I shall purge the lips of the peoples, so that all may invoke the name of Yahweh and servehim shoulder to shoulder.	9 Allora renderò a' popoli pure le labbra, affinchè tutti invochino il nome del Signore, e a lui servano sotto un sol giogo,
10 From beyond the rivers of Ethiopia, my suppliants will bring me tribute.	10 Di là dai fiumi dell'Etiopia verranno i miei adoratori, i figliuoli del disperso mio popolo porteranno a me i loro doni.
11 When that Day comes you wil never again be ashamed of al the deeds with which you once rebelledagainst me, for I shal rid you of those who exult in your pride; never again wil you strut on my holy mountain.	11 In quel giorno tu non avrai da arrossirti per tutte le novità, colle quali oltraggiasti me; perocché allora io torre di mezzo a te color, che nudriscono il tuo orgoglio, e non anderai più superba per ragione del mio monte santo.
12 But in you I shal leave surviving a humble and lowly people,	12 E in mezzo a te lascerò un popolo povero, ed umile, il quale porrà sua speranza nel nome del Signore.
13 and those who are left in Israel wil take refuge in the name of Yahweh. They will do no wrong, wil tellno lies; nor wil a deceitful tongue be found in their mouths. But they will be able to graze and rest with no one toalarm them.	13 Le reliquie d'Israele non faranno ingiustizia, e non diranno bugia, e non avranno in bocca una lingua ingannatrice; perocché elle avran buone pasture, e goderanno riposo, né alcuno farà ad essi paura.
14 Shout for joy, daughter of Zion, Israel, shout aloud! Rejoice, exult with al your heart, daughter ofJerusalem!	14 Canta inni, o figliuola di Sion giubila, o Israele, rallegrati, ed esulta di tutto cuore, o figliuola di Gerusalemme.
15 Yahweh has repealed your sentence; he has turned your enemy away. Yahweh is king among you,Israel, you have nothing more to fear.	15 Il Signore ha tolta via la tua dannagione, ha discacciati i tuoi nemici. Il Signore Re d'Israele sta in mezzo a te, tu non temerai più verun male.
16 When that Day comes, the message for Jerusalem wil be: Zion, have no fear, do not let your handsfal limp.	16 In quel giorno si dirà a Gerusalemme: Non temere: non s'infiacchiscano le tue braccia, o Sionne.
17 Yahweh your God is there with you, the warrior-Saviour. He will rejoice over you with happy song, hewil renew you by his love, he will dance with shouts of joy for you,	17 Il Signore, il Dio tuo forte sta in mezzo a te: egli ti salverà: in te egli troverà il suo gaudio, e la sua allegrezza: sarà fermo nella sua dilezione, esulterà, e celebrerà le tue lodi.
18 as on a day of festival. I have taken away your misfortune, no longer need you bear the disgrace of it.	18 Ragunerò que' vani uomini, che aveano abbandonata la legge, perche erano de' tuoi, affinchè tu non patisca più confusione per causa loro.
19 I am taking action here and now against your oppressors. When that time comes I wil rescue thelame, and gather the strays, and I wil win them praise and renown when I restore their fortunes.	19 Ecco, che io porrò a morte tutti quelli, che in quel tempo ti hanno data afflizione; e salverò quella, che zoppicava, e richiamerò quella, che fu ripudiata; e darò loro gloria, e nome in tutti que' luoghi, dove ebbero ignominia.
20 At that time I shal be your guide, at the time when I gather you in, I shall give you praise and renownamong all the peoples of the earth when I restore your fortunes under your own eyes, declares Yahweh.	20 In quel tempo, quand' io vi avrò ricondotti, e quando vi avrò raunati, tarò che abbiate un nome, e abbiate laude da tutti i popoli della terra, allorche dalla schiavitudine vostra vi vedrete disciolti da me, dice il Signore.
