1 Yahweh spoke to Moses and to Aaron and said:	1 Locutusque est Dominus ad Moysen et Aaron, dicens :
2 'The Israelites must pitch their tents, each man by his own standard, under their family emblems. Theymust pitch their tents round the Dwelling where the Testimony is, some distance away.	2 Singuli per turmas, signa, atque vexilla, et domos cognationum suarum, castrametabuntur filii Israël, per gyrum tabernaculi fœderis.
3 'Encamped on the east side: 'Furthest towards the east, the standard of the camp of Judah, unit byunit. Leader of the Judahites: Nahshon son of Amminadab.	3 Ad orientem Judas figet tentoria per turmas exercitus sui : eritque princeps filiorum ejus Nahasson filius Aminadab.
4 His company: seventy-four thousand six hundred men.	4 Et omnis de stirpe ejus summa pugnantium, septuaginta quatuor millia sexcenti.
5 'Next to him: 'The tribe of Issachar. Leader of the Issacharites: Nethanel son of Zuar.	5 Juxta eum castrametati sunt de tribu Issachar, quorum princeps fuit Nathanaël filius Suar.
6 His company: fifty-four thousand four hundred men.	6 Et omnis numerus pugnatorum ejus quinquaginta quatuor millia quadringenti.
7 'The tribe of Zebulun. Leader of the Zebulunites: Eliab son of Helon.	7 In tribu Zabulon princeps fuit Eliab filius Helon.
8 His company: fifty-seven thousand four hundred men.	8 Omnis de stirpe ejus exercitus pugnatorum, quinquaginta septem millia quadringenti.
9 'The tribal forces in the camp of Judah number in al a hundred and eighty-six thousand four hundred.These will be the first to break camp.	9 Universi qui in castris Judæ enumerati sunt, fuerunt centum octoginta sex millia quadringenti : et per turmas suas primi egredientur.
10 'On the south side, the standard of the camp of Reuben, unit by unit. Leader of the Reubenites: Elizurson of Shedeur.	10 In castris filiorum Ruben ad meridianam plagam erit princeps Elisur filius Sedeur.
11 His company: forty-six thousand five hundred men.	11 Et cunctus exercitus pugnatorum ejus qui numerati sunt, quadraginta sex millia quingenti.
12 'Next to him: 'The tribe of Simeon. Leader of the Simeonites: Shelumiel son of Zurishaddai.	12 Juxta eum castrametati sunt de tribu Simeon : quorum princeps fuit Salamiel filius Surisaddai.
13 His company: fifty-nine thousand three hundred men.	13 Et cunctus exercitus pugnatorum ejus qui numerati sunt, quinquaginta novem millia trecenti.
14 'The tribe of Gad. Leader of the Gadites: Eliasaph son of Reuel.	14 In tribu Gad princeps fuit Eliasaph filius Duel.
15 His company: forty-five thousand six hundred and fifty men.	15 Et cunctus exercitus pugnatorum ejus, qui numerati sunt, quadraginta quinque millia sexcenti quinquaginta.
16 'The tribal forces in the camp of Reuben number in al a hundred and fifty-one thousand four hundredand fifty. They will be second to break camp.	16 Omnes qui recensiti sunt in castris Ruben, centum quinquaginta millia et mille quadringenti quinquaginta per turmas suas : in secundo loco proficiscentur.
17 'Next, the Tent of Meeting wil move, since the camp of the Levites is situated in the middle of the other camps. The order of movement wil be the order of encampment, each man under his own standard.	17 Levabitur autem tabernaculum testimonii per officia Levitarum, et turmas eorum : quomodo erigetur, ita et deponetur. Singuli per loca et ordines suos proficiscentur.
18 'On the west side, the standard of the camp of Ephraim, unit by unit. Leader of the Ephraimites:Elishama son of Ammihud.	18 Ad occidentalem plagam erunt castra filiorum Ephraim, quorum princeps fuit Elisama filius Ammiud.
19 His company: forty thousand five hundred men.	19 Cunctus exercitus pugnatorum ejus, qui numerati sunt, quadraginta millia quingenti.
20 'Next to him: 'The tribe of Manasseh. Leader of the Manassehites: Gamaliel son of Pedahzur.	20 Et cum eis tribus filiorum Manasse, quorum princeps fuit Gamaliel filius Phadassur.
21 His company: thirty-two thousand two hundred men.	21 Cunctusque exercitus pugnatorum ejus, qui numerati sunt, triginta duo millia ducenti.
22 'The tribe of Benjamin. Leader of the Benjaminites: Abidan son of Gideoni.	22 In tribu filiorum Benjamin princeps fuit Abidan filius Gedeonis.
23 His company: thirty-five thousand four hundred men.	23 Et cunctus exercitus pugnatorum ejus, qui recensiti sunt, triginta quinque millia quadringenti.
24 'The tribal forces in the camp of Ephraim number in all a hundred and eight thousand one hundred.They wil be third to break camp.	24 Omnes qui numerati sunt in castris Ephraim, centum octo millia centum per turmas suas : tertii proficiscentur.
25 'On the north side, the standard of the camp of Dan, unit by unit. Leader of the Danites: Ahiezer sonof Ammishaddai.	25 Ad aquilonis partem castrametati sunt filii Dan : quorum princeps fuit Ahiezer filius Ammisaddai.
26 His company: sixty-two thousand seven hundred men.	26 Cunctus exercitus pugnatorum ejus, qui numerati sunt, sexaginta duo millia septingenti.
27 'Next to him: 'The tribe of Asher. Leader of the Asherites: Pagiel son of Ochran.	27 Juxta eum fixere tentoria de tribu Aser : quorum princeps fuit Phegiel filius Ochran.
28 His company: forty-one thousand five hundred men.	28 Cunctus exercitus pugnatorum ejus, qui numerati sunt, quadraginta millia et mille quingenti.
29 'The tribe of Naphtali. Leader of the Naphtalites: Ahira son of Enan.	29 De tribu filiorum Nephthali princeps fuit Ahira filius Enan.
30 His company: fifty-three thousand four hundred men.	30 Cunctus exercitus pugnatorum ejus, quinquaginta tria millia quadringenti.
31 'The tribal forces in the camp of Dan number in all a hundred and fifty-seven thousand six hundred.They wil be the last to break camp. 'Al under their appropriate standards.'	31 Omnes qui numerati sunt in castris Dan, fuerunt centum quinquaginta septem millia sexcenti : et novissimi proficiscentur.
32 Such was the tally of the Israelites when the census was taken by families. The ful count of the entirecamp, unit by unit, came to six hundred and three thousand five hundred and fifty.	32 Hic numerus filiorum Israël, per domos cognationum suarum et turmas divisi exercitus, sexcenta tria millia quingenti quinquaginta.
33 But, as Yahweh had ordered Moses, the Levites were not included in the census of the Israelites.	33 Levitæ autem non sunt numerati inter filios Israël : sic enim præceperat Dominus Moysi.
34 The Israelites did exactly as Yahweh had ordered Moses. This was how they pitched camp, groupedby standards. This was how they broke camp, each man in his own clan, each man with his own family.	34 Feceruntque filii Israël juxta omnia quæ mandaverat Dominus. Castrametati sunt per turmas suas, et profecti per familias ac domos patrum suorum.
