NEW JERUSALEM	BIBLIA
1 King Nebuchadnezzar had a golden statue made, sixty cubits high and six cubits wide, which he set upon the plain of Dura, in the province of Babylon.	1 El rey Nabucodonosor hizo una estatua de oro, de sesenta codos de alta por seis de ancha, y la erigió en el llano de Dura, en la provincia de Babilonia.
2 King Nebuchadnezzar then summoned the satraps, magistrates, governors, counsel ors, treasurers,judges, lawyers, and al the provincial authorities to assemble and attend the dedication of the statue set up byKing Nebuchadnezzar.	2 El rey Nabucodonosor mandó a los sátrapas, prefectos, gobernadores, consejeros, tesoreros, juristas y jueces y a todas las autoridades provinciales, que se reuniran y asistieran a la dedicación de la estatua erigida por el rey Nabucodonosor.
3 Satraps, magistrates, governors, counsel ors, treasurers, judges, lawyers and al the provincialauthorities then assembled for the dedication of the statue set up by King Nebuchadnezzar and stood in front ofthe statue which King Nebuchadnezzar had set up.	3 Se reunieron, pues, los sátrapas, prefectos, gobernadores, consejeros, tesoreros, juristas y jueces y todas las autoridades provinciales para la dedicación de la estatua erigida por el rey Nabucodonosor; todos estaban en pie ante la estatua erigida por el rey Nabucodonosor.
4 A herald then loudly proclaimed: 'Peoples, nations, languages! Thus are you commanded:	4 El heraldo pregonó con fuerza: «A vosotros, pueblos, naciones y lenguas, se os hace saber:
5 the moment you hear the sound of horn, pipe, lyre, zither, harp, bagpipe and every other kind ofinstrument, you wil prostrate yourselves and worship the golden statue set up by King Nebuchadnezzar.	5 En el momento en que oigáis el cuerno, el pífano, la cítara, la sambuca, el salterio, la zampoña y toda clase de música, os postraréis y adoraréis la estatua de oro que ha erigido el rey Nabucodonosor.
6 Anyone who does not prostrate himself and worship wil immediately be thrown into the burning fieryfurnace.'	6 Aquél que no se postre y la adore, será inmediatamente arrojado en el horno de fuego ardiente».
7 And so, the instant al the peoples heard the sound of horn, pipe, lyre, zither, harp, bagpipe and al theother instruments, al the peoples, nations and languages prostrated themselves and worshipped the statue setup by King Nebuchadnezzar.	7 Con tal motivo, en cuanto se oyó sonar el cuerno, el pífano, la cítara, la sambuca, el salterio, la zampoña y toda clase de música, todos los pueblos, naciones y lenguas se postraron y adoraron la estatua de oro que había erigido el rey Nabucodonosor.
8 Some Chaldaeans then came forward and maliciously accused the Jews.	8 Sin embargo, algunos caldeos se presentaron a denunciar a los judíos.
9 They said to King Nebuchadnezzar, 'May Your Majesty live for ever!	9 Tomaron la palabra y dijeron al rey Nabucodonosor: «¡Viva el rey eternamente!
10 You have issued a decree, Your Majesty, to the effect that everyone on hearing the sound of horn,pipe, lyre, zither, harp, bagpipe and every other kind of instrument is to prostrate himself and worship the goldenstatue;	10 Tú, oh rey, has ordenado que todo hombre, en cuanto oiga sonar el cuerno, el pífano, la cítara, la sambuca, el salterio, la zampoña y toda clase de música, se postre y adore la estatua de oro,
11 and that anyone who does not prostrate himself and worship is to be thrown into the burning fieryfurnace.	11 y que aquél que no se postre para adorarla sea arrojado en el horno de fuego ardiente.
12 Now, there are certain Jews to whom you have entrusted the affairs of the province of Babylon:Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-Nego; these men have ignored your command, Your Majesty; they do not serveyour gods, and refuse to worship the golden statue you have set up.'	12 Pues hay algunos judíos a quienes has encargado de la administración de la provincia de Babilonia: Sadrak, Mesak y Abed Negó, que no te hacen caso, oh rey; no sirven a tu dios ni adoran la estatua de oro que has erigido».
13 Shaking with fury, Nebuchadnezzar sent for Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-Nego. The men wereimmediately brought before the king.	13 Ebrio de cólera, Nabucodonosor mandó llamar a Sadrak, Mesak y Abed Negó, que fueron introducidos ante el rey.
14 Nebuchadnezzar addressed them, 'Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-Nego, is it true that you do notserve my gods, and that you refuse to worship the golden statue I have set up?	14 Nabucodonosor tomó la palabra y dijo: «¿Es verdad, Sadrak, Mesak y Abed Negó, que no servís a mis dioses ni adoráis la estatua de oro que yo he erigido?
15 When you hear the sound of horn, pipe, lyre, zither, harp, bagpipe and every other kind of instrument,are you prepared to prostrate yourselves and worship the statue I have made? If you refuse to worship it, youwil be thrown forthwith into the burning fiery furnace; then which of the gods could save you from my power?'	15 ¿Estáis dispuestos ahora, cuando oigáis sonar el cuerno, el pífano, la cítara, la sambuca, el salterio, la zampoña y toda clase de música, a postraros y adorar la estatua que yo he hecho? Si no la adoráis, seréis inmediatamente arrojados en el horno de fuego ardiente; y ¿qué dios os podrá librar de mis manos?»
16 Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-Nego replied to King Nebuchadnezzar, 'Your question needs noanswer from us:	16 Sadrak, Mesak y Abed Negó tomaron la palabra y dijeron al rey Nabucodonosor: «No necesitamos darte una respuesta sobre este particular.
17 if our God, the one we serve, is able to save us from the burning fiery furnace and from your power,Your Majesty, he wil save us;	17 Si nuestro Dios, a quien servimos, es capaz de librarnos, nos librará del horno de fuego ardiente y de tu mano, oh rey;
18 and even if he does not, then you must know, Your Majesty, that we wil not serve your god or worshipthe statue you have set up.'	18 y si no lo hace, has de saber, oh rey, que nosotros no serviremos a tus dioses ni adoraremos la estatua de oro que has erigido».
19 This infuriated King Nebuchadnezzar; his expression was changed now as he looked at Shadrach,Meshach and Abed-Nego. He gave orders for the furnace to be made seven times hotter than usual	19 Entonces el rey Nabucodonosor, lleno de cólera y demudada la expresión de su rostro contra Sadrak, Mesak y Abed Negó, dio orden de que se encendiese el horno siete veces más de lo corriente,
20 and commanded certain stalwarts from his army to bind Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-Nego andthrow them into the burning fiery furnace.	20 y mandó a los hombres más fuertes de su ejército que ataran a Sadrak, Mesak y Abed Negó y los arrojaran al horno de fuego ardiente.
21 They were then bound in their cloaks, trousers, headgear and other garments, and thrown into theburning fiery furnace.	21 Fueron, pues, atados estos hombres, con sus zaragüelles, túnicas, gorros y vestidos, y arrojados al horno de fuego ardiente.
22 The king's command was so urgent and the heat of the furnace was so fierce, that the men carryingShadrach, Meshach and Abed-Nego were burnt to death by the flames from the fire;	22 Como la orden del rey era perentoria y el horno estaba excesivamente encendido, la llamarada mató a los hombres que habían llevado allá a Sadrak, Mesak y Abed Negó.
23 the three men, Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-Nego fel , bound, into the burning fiery furnace.	23 Y los tres hombres, Sadrak, Mesak y Abed Negó, cayeron, atados, en medio del horno de fuego ardiente.
24 And they walked in the heart of the flames, praising God and blessing the Lord.	24 Iban ellos por entre las llamas alabando a Dios y bendiciendo al Señor.
25 Azariah stood in the heart of the fire, praying aloud thus:	25 Y Azarías, de pie en medio del fuego, tomó la palabra y oró así:
26 May you be blessed and revered, Lord, God of our ancestors, may your name be held glorious forever.	26 «Bendito seas, Señor, Dios de nuestros padres, digno de loor, y tu nombre sea glorificado eternamente.
27 For you are upright in al that you have done for us, al your deeds are true, all your ways right, al yourjudgements true.	27 Porque eres justo en todo lo que nos has hecho, todas tus obras son verdad, rectos todos tus caminos, verdad todos tus juicios.
28 True is the sentence you have given in al that you have brought down on us and on Jerusalem, theholy city of our ancestors, for you have treated us rightly and truly, as our sins deserve.	28 Juicio fiel has hecho en todo lo que sobre nosotros has traído, y sobre la ciudad santa de nuestros padres, Jerusalén. Pues con verdad y justicia has provocado todo esto, por nuestros pecados.
29 Yes, we have sinned and committed a crime by deserting you, yes, we have greatly sinned; we havenot listened to your commandments,	29 Sí, pecamos, obramos inicuamente alejándonos de ti, sí, mucho en todo pecamos, no dimos oído a tus mandamientos,
30 we have not observed them, we have not done what you commanded us to do for our own good.	30 no los observamos, no cumplimos lo que se nos mandaba para nuestro bien.
31 Yes, al that you have brought down on us, al that you have done to us, you have been ful y justifiedin doing.	31 Sí, todo lo que sobre nosotros has traído, todo lo que nos has hecho, con juicio fiel lo has hecho.
32 You have handed us over to our enemies, to a lawless people, the worst of the godless, to an unjustking, the worst in the whole world;	32 Nos has entregado en manos de nuestros enemigos, gentes sin ley, pésimos impíos, en manos de un rey injusto, el más perverso de la tierra toda.
33 today we have no right to open our mouths, shame and dishonour are the lot of those who serve andworship you.	33 Y hoy no podemos abrir nuestra boca, la vergüenza y el oprobio han alcanzado a los que te sirven y te adoran.
34 Do not abandon us for ever, for the sake of your name; do not repudiate your covenant,	34 ¡Oh, no nos abandones para siempre, - por amor de tu nombre - no repudies tu alianza,
35 do not withdraw your favour from us, for the sake of Abraham, your friend, of Isaac, your servant, andof Israel, your holy one,	35 no nos retires tu misericordia, por Abraham tu amado, por Isaac tu siervo, por Israel tu santo,
36 to whom you promised to make their descendants as many as the stars of heaven and as the grainsof sand on the seashore.	36 a quienes tú prometiste multiplicar su linaje como las estrellas del cielo y como la arena de la orilla del mar!
37 Lord, we have become the least of al nations, we are put to shame today throughout the world,because of our sins.	37 Señor, que somos más pequeños que todas las naciones, que hoy estamos humillados en toda la tierra, por causa de nuestros pecados;
38 We now have no leader, no prophet, no prince, no burnt offering, no sacrifice, no oblation, no incense,no place where we can make offerings to you	38 ya no hay, en esta hora, príncipe, profeta ni caudillo, holocausto, sacrificio, oblación ni incienso ni lugar donde ofrecerte las primicias,
39 and win your favour. But may the contrite soul, the humbled spirit, be as acceptable to you	39 y hallar gracia a tus ojos. Mas con alma contrita y espíritu humillado te seamos aceptos, como con holocaustos de carneros y toros, y con millares de corderos pingües;
40 as burnt offerings of rams and bullocks, as thousands of fat lambs: such let our sacrifice be to youtoday, and may it please you that we fol ow you whole-heartedly, since those who trust in you wil not beshamed.	40 tal sea hoy nuestro sacrificio ante ti, y te agrade que plenamente te sigamos, porque no hay confusión para los que en ti confian.
41 And now we put our whole heart into fol owing you, into fearing you and seeking your face once more.	41 Y ahora te seguimos de todo corazón, te tememos y buscamos tu rostro. No nos dejes en la confusión,
42 Do not abandon us to shame but treat us in accordance with your gentleness, in accordance with thegreatness of your mercy.	42 trátanos conforme a tu bondad y según la abundancia de tu misericordia.
43 Rescue us in accordance with your wonderful deeds and win fresh glory for your name, O Lord.	43 Líbranos según tus maravillas, y da, Señor, gloria a tu nombre.
44 Confusion seize al who il -treat your servants: may they be covered with shame, deprived of al theirpower, and may their strength be broken.	44 Sean confundidos los que a tus siervos hacen daño, queden cubiertos de vergüenza, privados de todo su poder, sea aplastada su fuerza.
45 Let them learn that you alone are God and Lord, glorious over the whole world.	45 Y sepan que tú eres el único Dios y Señor, glorioso por toda la tierra».
46 Al this time, the king's servants, who had thrown them into the furnace, had been stoking it with crudeoil, pitch, tow and brushwood	46 Los siervos del rey que los habían arrojado al horno no cesaban de atizar el fuego con nafta, pez, estopa y sarmientos,
47 until the flames rose forty-nine cubits above the furnace	47 tanto que la llama se elevaba por encima del horno hasta cuarenta y nueve codos,
48 and, leaping out, burnt those Chaldaeans to death who were standing round it.	48 y al extenderse abrasó a los caldeos que encontró alrededor del horno.
49 But the angel of the Lord came down into the furnace beside Azariah and his companions; he drovethe flames of the fire outwards from the furnace	49 Pero el ángel del Señor bajó al horno junto a Azarías y sus compañeros, empujó fuera del horno la llama de fuego,
50 and, in the heart of the furnace, wafted a coolness to them as of the breeze and dew, so that the firedid not touch them at al and caused them no pain or distress.	50 y les sopló, en medio del horno, como un frescor de brisa y de rocío, de suerte que el fuego nos los tocó siquiera ni les causó dolor ni molestia.
51 Then al three in unison began to sing, glorifying and blessing God in the furnace, with the words:	51 Entonces los tres, a coro, se pusieron a cantar, glorificando y bendiciendo a Dios dentro del horno, y diciendo:
52 May you be blessed, Lord, God of our ancestors, be praised and extol ed for ever. Blessed be yourglorious and holy name, praised and extol ed for ever.	52 «Bendito seas, Señor, Dios de nuestros padres, loado, exaltado eternamente. Bendito el santo nombre de tu gloria, loado, exaltado eternamente.
53 May you be blessed in the Temple of your sacred glory, exalted and glorified above all for ever:	53 Bendito seas en el templo de tu santa gloria, cantado, enaltecido eternamente.
54 blessed on the throne of your kingdom, exalted above al , glorified for ever:	54 Bendito seas en el trono de tu reino, cantado, exaltado eternamente.
55 blessed are you who fathom the abyss, enthroned on the winged creatures, praised and exaltedabove al for ever:	55 Bendito tú, que sondas los abismos, que te sientas sobre querubines, loado, exaltado eternamente.
56 blessed in the expanse of the heavens, exalted and glorified for ever.	56 Bendito seas en el firmamento del cielo, cantado, glorificado eternamente.
57 Bless the Lord, al the Lord's creation: praise and glorify him for ever!	57 Obras todas del Señor, bendecid al Señor, cantadle, exaltadle eternamente.
58 Bless the Lord, angels of the Lord, praise and glorify him for ever!	58 Angeles del Señor, bendecid al Señor, cantadle, exaltadle eternamente.
59 Bless the Lord, heavens, praise and glorify him for ever!	59 Cielos, bendecid al Señor, cantadle, exaltadle eternamente.
60 Bless the Lord, al the waters above the heavens, praise and glorify him for ever!	60 Aguas todas que estáis sobre los cielos, bendecid al Señor, cantadle, exaltadle eternamente.
61 Bless the Lord, powers of the Lord, praise and glorify him for ever!	61 Potencias todas del Señor, bendecid al Señor, cantadle, exaltadle eternamente.
62 Bless the Lord, sun and moon, praise and glorify him for ever!	62 Sol y luna, bendecid al Señor, cantadle, exaltadle eternamente.
63 Bless the Lord, stars of heaven, praise and glorify him for ever!	63 Astros del cielo, bendecid al Señor, cantadle, exaltadle eternamente.
64 Bless the Lord, al rain and dew, praise and glorify him for ever!	64 Lluvia toda y rocío, bendecid al Señor, cantadle, exaltadle eternamente.
65 Bless the Lord, every wind, praise and glorify him for ever!	65 Vientos todos, bendecid al Señor, cantadle, exaltadle eternamente.
66 Bless the Lord, fire and heat, praise and glorify him for ever!	66 Fuego y calor, bendecid al Señor, cantadle, exaltadle eternamente.
67 Bless the Lord, cold and warmth, praise and glorify him for ever!	67 Frío y ardor, bendecid al Señor, cantadle, exaltadle eternamente.
68 Bless the Lord, dew and snow-storm, praise and glorify him for ever!	68 Rocíos y escarchas, bendecid al Señor, cantadle, exaltadle eternamente.
69 Bless the Lord, frost and cold, praise and glorify him for ever!	69 Hielos y frío, bendecid al Señor, cantadle, exaltadle eternamente.
70 Bless the Lord, ice and snow, praise and glorify him for ever!	70 Heladas y nieves, bendecid al Señor, cantadle, exaltadle eternamente.
71 Bless the Lord, nights and days, praise and glorify him for ever!	71 Noches y días, bendecid al Señor, cantadle, exaltadle eternamente.
72 Bless the Lord, light and darkness, praise and glorify him for ever!	72 Luz y tinieblas, bendecid al Señor, cantadle, exaltadle eternamente.
73 Bless the Lord, lightning and cloud, praise and glorify him for ever!	73 Rayos y nubes, bendecid al Señor, cantadle, exaltadle eternamente.
74 Let the earth bless the Lord: praise and glorify him for ever!	74 Bendiga la tierra al Señor, le cante, le exalte eternamente.
75 Bless the Lord, mountains and hills, praise and glorify him for ever!	75 Montes y colinas, bendecid al Señor, cantadle, exaltadle eternamente.
76 Bless the Lord, every plant that grows, praise and glorify him for ever!	76 Todo lo que germina en la tierra, bendecid al Señor, cantadle, exaltadle eternamente.
77 Bless the Lord, springs of water, praise and glorify him for ever!	77 Fuentes, bendecid al Señor, cantadle, exaltadle eternamente.
78 Bless the Lord, seas and rivers, praise and glorify him for ever!	78 Mares y ríos, bendecid al Señor, cantadle, exaltadle eternamente.
79 Bless the Lord, whales, and everything that moves in the waters, praise and glorify him for ever!	79 Cetáceos y todo lo que se mueve en las aguas, bendecid al Señor, cantadle, exaltadle eternamente.
80 Bless the Lord, every kind of bird, praise and glorify him for ever!	80 Pájaros todos del cielo, bendecid al Señor, cantadle, exaltadle eternamente.
81 Bless the Lord, al animals wild and tame, praise and glorify him for ever!	81 Fieras todas y bestias, bendecid al Señor, cantadle, exaltadle eternamente.
82 Bless the Lord, al the human race: praise and glorify him for ever!	82 Hijos de los hombres, bendecid al Señor, cantadle, exaltadle eternamente.
83 Bless the Lord, O Israel, praise and glorify him for ever!	83 Israel, bendice al Señor, cantadle, exaltadle eternamente.
84 Bless the Lord, priests, praise and glorify him for ever!	84 Sacerdotes del Señor, bendecid al Señor, cantadle, exaltadle eternamente.
85 Bless the Lord, his servants, praise and glorify him for ever!	85 Siervos del Señor, bendecid al Señor, cantadle, exaltadle eternamente.
86 Bless the Lord, spirits and souls of the upright, praise and glorify him for ever!	86 Espíritus y almas de los justos, bendecid al Señor, cantadle, exaltadle eternamente.
87 Bless the Lord, faithful, humble-hearted people, praise and glorify him for ever!	87 Santos y humildes de corazón, bendecid al Señor, cantadle, exaltadle eternamente.
88 Hananiah, Azariah and Mishael, bless the Lord, praise and glorify him for ever!-For he has rescued usfrom the Underworld, he has saved us from the hand of Death, he has snatched us from the burning fieryfurnace, he has drawn us from the heart of the flame!	88 Ananías, Azarías, Misael, bendecid al Señor, cantadle, exaltadle eternamente. Porque él nos ha arrancado del infierno, nos ha salvado de la mano del la muerte, nos ha sacado del horno de llama abrasadora, nos ha rescatado de en medio de la llama.
89 Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good, for his love is everlasting.	89 Dad gracias al Señor, porque es bueno, porque es eterna su misericordia.
90 Bless the Lord, the God of gods, al who fear him, give praise and thanks to him, for his love iseverlasting!	90 Todos los que veneráis al Señor, bendecid al Dios de los de los dioses, cantadle, dadle gracias, porque es eterna su misericordia».
91 King Nebuchadnezzar sprang to his feet in amazement. He said to his advisers, 'Did we not havethese three men thrown bound into the fire?' They answered the king, 'Certainly, Your Majesty'.	91 Entonces el rey Nabucodonosor, estupefacto, se levantó a toda prisa y preguntó a sus consejeros: «¿No hemos echado nosotros al fuego a estos tres hombres atados?» Respondieron ellos: «Indudablemente, oh rey».
92 'But', he went on, 'I can see four men walking free in the heart of the fire and quite unharmed! And thefourth looks like a child of the gods!'	92 Dijo el rey: «Pero yo estoy viendo cuatro hombres que se pasean libremente por el fuego sin sufrir daño alguno, y el cuarto tiene el aspecto de un hijo de los dioses».
93 Nebuchadnezzar approached the mouth of the burning fiery furnace and said, 'Shadrach, Meshachand Abed-Nego, servants of God Most High, come out, come here!' And from the heart of the fire out cameShadrach, Meshach and Abed-Nego.	93 Y Nabucodonosor se acercó a la boca del horno de fuego ardiente y dijo: «Sadrak, Mesak y Abed Negó, servidores del Dios Altísimo, salid y venid aquí». Entonces Sadrak, Mesak y Abed Negó salieron de en medio del fuego.
94 The satraps, magistrates, governors, and advisers of the king crowded round the three men toexamine them: the fire had had no effect on their bodies: not a hair of their heads had been singed, their cloakswere not scorched, no smell of burning hung about them. Nebuchadnezzar said,	94 Los sátrapas, prefectos, gobernadores y consejeros del rey se reunieron para ver a estos hombres: el fuego no había tenido ningún poder sobre su cuerpo, los cabellos de su cabeza no estaban chamuscados, sus mantos no se habían alterado, y ni el olor del fuego se les había pegado.
95 'Blessed be the God of Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-Nego: he has sent his angel to rescue hisservants who, putting their trust in him, defied the order of the king, and preferred to forfeit their bodies ratherthan serve or worship any god but their God.	95 Nabucodonosor exclamó: «Bendito sea el Dios de Sadrak, Mesak y Abed Negó, que ha enviado a su ángel a librar a sus siervos que, confiando en él, quebrantaron la orden del rey y entregaron su cuerpo antes que servir y adorar a ningún otro fuera de su Dios.
96 I therefore decree as fol ows, "Peoples, nations, and languages! Let any of you speak disrespectful yof the God of Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-Nego, and I shal have him torn limb from limb and his house turnedinto a dunghil ; for there is no other god who can save like this." '	96 Y yo promulgo este edicto: Pueblos, naciones y lenguas, todo aquel que hable ligeramente del Dios de Sadrak, Mesak y Abed Negó, será cortado en pedazos y su casa será reducida a escombros, porque no hay otro dios que pueda salvar de este modo».
97 The king then showered favours on Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-Nego in the province of Babylon.	97 Y el rey hizo prosperar a Sadrak, Mesak y Abed Negó en la provincia de Babilonia.
98 'King Nebuchadnezzar, to all peoples, nations and languages dwelling throughout the world: may youprosper more and more!	98 Nabucodonosor, Rey, a todos los pueblos, naciones y lenguas de toda la tierra: ¡Sea grande vuestra paz!
99 'It is my pleasure to make known the signs and wonders with which the Most High God has favouredme.	99 Me ha parecido bien daros a conocer las señales y milagros que ha hecho el Dios Altísimo.
100 How great his signs, how mighty his wonders! His kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, his empireendures age after age!'	100 ¡Que grandes sus prodigios, qué poderosos sus milagros! ¡Reino eterno es su reino, su imperio de generación en generación!
