Ezekiel 15

NEW JERUSALEM	LA SACRA BIBBIA
1 The word of Yahweh was addressed to me as follows:	1 Mi giunse la parola del Signore:
2 Son of man, how is the wood of the vine better than wood from the branch of a forest tree?	2 "Figlio dell'uomo, cos'è mai il legno della vite rispetto a tutto l'altro legname che c'è nella foresta?
3 Is its wood used for making anything? Are pegs on which to hang things made from it?	3 Se ne prende forse il legno per fare qualche lavoro? Ne prendono un pezzo anche solo per appendervi qualcosa?
4 There it is, thrown on the fire for fuel. The fire burns off both ends; the middle is charred; can it be keptfor anything now?	4 Vedi? Lo si getta nel fuoco a bruciare. Quando il fuoco ne avesse bruciato i due estremi, forse il centro è destinato alla lavorazione?
5 While it was intact, you could make nothing with it; burned and charred, is it any more useful now?	5 Se quand'era sano non si usava per alcun lavoro, adesso che il fuoco l'ha distrutto ed è bruciato, vuoi che sia usato per qualche lavoro?
6 So, the Lord Yahweh says this: As the wood of the vine among the forest trees, which I have thrownon the fire for fuel, so shal I treat the inhabitants of Jerusalem.	6 Perciò così dice Dio, mio Signore: Come il legno di vite, tra il legname della foresta, è destinato ad essere distrutto dal fuoco, così tratto gli abitanti di Gerusalemme.
7 I shal set my face against them. They have escaped one fire, but fire wil devour them yet. And youwil know that I am Yahweh, when I set my face against them.	7 Mi volgerò contro di essi: sono scampati da un fuoco, ma l'altro li distruggerà. Riconoscerete che io sono il Signore, quando fisserò contro di loro il mio sguardo
8 I shal reduce the country to a desert, because of their infidelity- declares the Lord Yahweh.	8 e renderò il paese una desolazione, perché hanno prevaricato, oracolo di Dio, mio Signore".
