Ezekiel 15

NEW JERUSALEM	BIBBIA CEI 2008
1 The word of Yahweh was addressed to me as follows:	1 Mi fu rivolta questa parola del Signore:
2 Son of man, how is the wood of the vine better than wood from the branch of a forest tree?	2 «Figlio dell’uomo, che pregi ha il legno della vite di fronte a tutti gli altri legni della foresta?
3 Is its wood used for making anything? Are pegs on which to hang things made from it?	3 Si adopera forse quel legno per farne un oggetto? Si può forse ricavarne un piolo per attaccarvi qualcosa?
4 There it is, thrown on the fire for fuel. The fire burns off both ends; the middle is charred; can it be keptfor anything now?	4 Ecco, lo si getta nel fuoco a bruciare, il fuoco ne divora i due capi e anche il centro è bruciacchiato. Potrà essere utile per farne un oggetto?
5 While it was intact, you could make nothing with it; burned and charred, is it any more useful now?	5 Anche quand’era intatto, non serviva a niente: ora, dopo che il fuoco l’ha divorato, l’ha bruciato, si potrà forse ricavarne qualcosa?
6 So, the Lord Yahweh says this: As the wood of the vine among the forest trees, which I have thrownon the fire for fuel, so shal I treat the inhabitants of Jerusalem.	6 Perciò così dice il Signore Dio: Come io metto nel fuoco a bruciare il legno della vite al posto del legno della foresta, così io tratterò gli abitanti di Gerusalemme.
7 I shal set my face against them. They have escaped one fire, but fire wil devour them yet. And youwil know that I am Yahweh, when I set my face against them.	7 Mi volterò contro di loro. Da un fuoco sono scampati, ma un fuoco li divorerà! Allora saprete che io sono il Signore, quando mi volterò contro di loro
8 I shal reduce the country to a desert, because of their infidelity- declares the Lord Yahweh.	8 e renderò il paese deserto, poiché sono stati infedeli». Oracolo del Signore Dio.
