Ezekiel 15

NEW JERUSALEM	EL LIBRO DEL PUEBLO DE DIOS
1 The word of Yahweh was addressed to me as follows:	1 La palabra del Señor me llegó en estos términos:
2 Son of man, how is the wood of the vine better than wood from the branch of a forest tree?	2 Hijo de hombre, ¿en qué aventaja la leña de la vid a la de cualquier otra rama de los árboles del bosque?
3 Is its wood used for making anything? Are pegs on which to hang things made from it?	3 ¿Se saca de ella madera para emplearla en una obra? ¿Se hace con ella una percha para colgar alguna cosa?
4 There it is, thrown on the fire for fuel. The fire burns off both ends; the middle is charred; can it be keptfor anything now?	4 No, se la echa al fuego para ser consumida: el fuego devora sus dos extremos y arde también el centro. ¿Servirá entonces para alguna cosa?
5 While it was intact, you could make nothing with it; burned and charred, is it any more useful now?	5 Cuando todavía estaba intacta, no se utilizaba para nada: ¡cuánto menos se hará algo con ella, una vez que el fuego la devore y esté quemada!
6 So, the Lord Yahweh says this: As the wood of the vine among the forest trees, which I have thrownon the fire for fuel, so shal I treat the inhabitants of Jerusalem.	6 Por eso, así habla el Señor: como la leña de la vid, entre los árboles del bosque, la arrojé al fuego para que se consuma, así arrojo a los habitantes de Jerusalén.
7 I shal set my face against them. They have escaped one fire, but fire wil devour them yet. And youwil know that I am Yahweh, when I set my face against them.	7 Yo vuelvo mi rostro contra ellos: salieron del fuego, pero el fuego los devorará. Entonces ustedes sabrán que yo soy el Señor, cuando vuelva mi rostro contra ellos.
8 I shal reduce the country to a desert, because of their infidelity- declares the Lord Yahweh.	8 Yo haré del país una desolación, porque han sido infieles –oráculo del Señor–.
