Ezekiel 15

NEW JERUSALEM	KÁLDI-NEOVULGÁTA
1 The word of Yahweh was addressed to me as follows:	1 Akkor az Úr ezt a szózatot intézte hozzám:
2 Son of man, how is the wood of the vine better than wood from the branch of a forest tree?	2 »Emberfia, különb-e valamivel a szőlőtőke fája a többi fánál, a venyige, mely az erdő fái között van?
3 Is its wood used for making anything? Are pegs on which to hang things made from it?	3 Vajon vesznek-e belőle fát, hogy valami tárgyat készítsenek? Vagy csinálnak-e belőle cöveket, hogy rajta bármilyen holmi függjön?
4 There it is, thrown on the fire for fuel. The fire burns off both ends; the middle is charred; can it be keptfor anything now?	4 Íme, a tűznek adják eledelül! S ha mindkét végét megemésztette a tűz, és közepe is hamuvá lett, vajon alkalmas lesz-e bármire is?
5 While it was intact, you could make nothing with it; burned and charred, is it any more useful now?	5 Még amikor ép volt is, akkor sem lehetett belőle csinálni semmit sem; mennyivel kevésbé lehet belőle csinálni valamit, amikor a tűz megemésztette és megégette?
6 So, the Lord Yahweh says this: As the wood of the vine among the forest trees, which I have thrownon the fire for fuel, so shal I treat the inhabitants of Jerusalem.	6 Ezért így szól az Úr Isten: amint a szőlővesszőt az erdő fái közül tűznek adtam át, hogy az megeméssze, úgy adom át majd Jeruzsálem lakóit:
7 I shal set my face against them. They have escaped one fire, but fire wil devour them yet. And youwil know that I am Yahweh, when I set my face against them.	7 ellenük fordítom arcomat; kimenekülnek a tűzből, de a tűz emészti meg majd őket. S ti megtudjátok, hogy én vagyok az Úr, amikor arcomat ellenük fordítom,
8 I shal reduce the country to a desert, because of their infidelity- declares the Lord Yahweh.	8 Az országot úttalan pusztasággá teszem, mert lázadók voltak« – mondja az Úr Isten.
