Ezekiel 15

NEW JERUSALEM	BIBBIA MARTINI
1 The word of Yahweh was addressed to me as follows:	1 E IL Signore parlommi, dicendo:
2 Son of man, how is the wood of the vine better than wood from the branch of a forest tree?	2 Figliuolo dell'uomo, che si farà egli del tralcio della vite a preferenza di tutti gli altri legnami delle boscaglie, se ella è come le piante della selva?
3 Is its wood used for making anything? Are pegs on which to hang things made from it?	3 Si prenderà egli un pezzo di essa per farne qualche lavoro; ovver se ne formerà egli un cavicchio per attaccarvi qualche arnese?
4 There it is, thrown on the fire for fuel. The fire burns off both ends; the middle is charred; can it be keptfor anything now?	4 Ecco, che si mette a nudrir il fuoco l'una parte, e l'altra parte di lui la ha consunta il fuoco, e il di mezzo è ridotto in cenere: sarà egli buono a qualch' uopo?
5 While it was intact, you could make nothing with it; burned and charred, is it any more useful now?	5 Anche quando era intiero non era buono a nulla: quanto più divorato, ed arso, ch'egli è dal fuoco, non potrà farsene cosa alcuna?
6 So, the Lord Yahweh says this: As the wood of the vine among the forest trees, which I have thrownon the fire for fuel, so shal I treat the inhabitants of Jerusalem.	6 Per questo così dice il Signore Dio: Come il legno della vite fatto simile alle legna dei boschi, io lo do al fuoco, che lo divori, cosi farò degli abitanti di Gerusalemme.
7 I shal set my face against them. They have escaped one fire, but fire wil devour them yet. And youwil know that I am Yahweh, when I set my face against them.	7 E volgerò contro di essi il mio sguardo: usciran dal fuoco, e un (altro) fuoco li consumerà, e conoscerete, ch'io son il Signore, quando volgerò contro di essi il mio sguardo,
8 I shal reduce the country to a desert, because of their infidelity- declares the Lord Yahweh.	8 E inabitabile, e desolata renderò la lor terra, perch' ei sono stati prevaricatori, dice il Signore Dio.
