Ezekiel 11

NEW JERUSALEM	VULGATA
1 The spirit lifted me up and brought me to the east gate of the Temple of Yahweh, the gate that lookseastwards. There at the entrance to the gate stood twenty-five men, among whom I saw Jaazaniah son of Azzurand Pelatiah son of Benaiah, leaders of the people.	1 Et elevavit me spiritus, et introduxit me ad portam domus Domini orientalem, quæ respicit ad solis ortum : et ecce in introitu portæ viginti quinque viri : et vidi in medio eorum Jezoniam filium Azur, et Pheltiam filium Banaiæ, principes populi.
2 He said to me, 'Son of man, these are the wicked schemers who are spreading their bad advicethrough this city.	2 Dixitque ad me : Fili hominis, hi sunt viri qui cogitant iniquitatem, et tractant consilium pessimum in urbe ista,
3 They say, "There will be no house-building yet awhile. The city is the cooking pot and we are themeat."	3 dicentes : Nonne dudum ædificatæ sunt domus ? hæc est lebes, nos autem carnes.
4 So prophesy against them, prophesy, son of man!'	4 Idcirco vaticinare de eis, vaticinare, fili hominis.
5 The spirit of Yahweh fel on me, and he said to me, 'Say, "Yahweh says this: I know what you aresaying, House of Israel, I know how insolent you are.	5 Et irruit in me spiritus Domini, et dixit ad me : Loquere : Hæc dicit Dominus : Sic locuti estis, domus Israël, et cogitationes cordis vestri ego novi.
6 You have filled this city with more and more of your victims; you have strewn its streets with victims.	6 Plurimos occidistis in urbe hac, et implestis vias ejus interfectis.
7 And so the Lord Yahweh says this: Your victims, whom you have put in it, are the meat, and the city isthe cooking pot; but I shal take you out of it.	7 Propterea hæc dicit Dominus Deus : Interfecti vestri, quos posuistis in medio ejus, hi sunt carnes, et hæc est lebes : et educam vos de medio ejus.
8 You are afraid of the sword and I shall bring the sword down on you -- declares the Lord Yahweh-	8 Gladium metuistis, et gladium inducam super vos, ait Dominus Deus.
9 and I shall take you out of it and hand you over to foreigners and bring you to justice;	9 Et ejiciam vos de medio ejus, daboque vos in manu hostium, et faciam in vobis judicia.
10 you will fal by the sword on the soil of Israel; I shal execute justice on you, and you wil know that Iam Yahweh.	10 Gladio cadetis : in finibus Israël judicabo vos, et scietis quia ego Dominus.
11 This city wil be no cooking pot for you, nor wil you be the meat inside; I shal execute justice on youon the soil of Israel;	11 Hæc non erit vobis in lebetem, et vos non eritis in medio ejus in carnes : in finibus Israël judicabo vos,
12 and you wil know that I am Yahweh, whose laws you have not obeyed and whose judgements youhave not kept; instead, you have adopted the customs of the nations round you." '	12 et scietis quia ego Dominus : quia in præceptis meis non ambulastis, et judicia mea non fecistis, sed juxta judicia gentium quæ in circuitu vestro sunt estis operati.
13 Now as I was prophesying, Pelatiah son of Benaiah dropped dead. I fel to the ground and cried out,'Ah, Lord Yahweh, are you going to annihilate the remnant of Israel?'	13 Et factum est cum prophetarem, Pheltias filius Banaiæ mortuus est : et cecidi in faciem meam clamans voce magna, et dixi : Heu ! heu ! heu ! Domine Deus, consummationem tu facis reliquiarum Israël ?
14 The word of Yahweh was then addressed to me as follows,	14 Et factum est verbum Domini ad me, dicens :
15 'Son of man, to your brothers one and al , to your kinsfolk and to the whole House of Israel, theinhabitants of Jerusalem have said, "Keep wel away from Yahweh. This country has now been made over tous!"	15 Fili hominis, fratres tui, fratres tui, viri propinqui tui, et omnis domus Israël, universi quibus dixerunt habitatores Jerusalem : Longe recedite a Domino : nobis data est terra in possessionem.
16 So say, "The Lord Yahweh says this: Yes, I have sent them far away among the nations and I havedispersed them to foreign countries; and for a while I have been a sanctuary for them in the country to whichthey have gone."	16 Propterea hæc dicit Dominus Deus : Quia longe feci eos in gentibus, et quia dispersi eos in terris : ero eis in sanctificationem modicam in terris ad quas venerunt.
17 So say, "The Lord Yahweh says this: I shall gather you back from the peoples, I shall col ect you infrom the countries where you have been scattered and give you the land of Israel.	17 Propterea loquere : Hæc dicit Dominus Deus : Congregabo vos de populis, et adunabo de terris in quibus dispersi estis, daboque vobis humum Israël.
18 When they come back, they wil purge it of al its horrors and loathsome practices.	18 Et ingredientur illuc, et auferent omnes offensiones, cunctasque abominationes ejus de illa.
19 I shal give them a single heart and I shal put a new spirit in them; I shall remove the heart of stonefrom their bodies and give them a heart of flesh,	19 Et dabo eis cor unum, et spiritum novum tribuam in visceribus eorum : et auferam cor lapideum de carne eorum, et dabo eis cor carneum,
20 so that they can keep my laws and respect my judgements and put them into practice. Then they wilbe my people and I shall be their God.	20 ut in præceptis meis ambulent, et judicia mea custodiant, faciantque ea, et sint mihi in populum, et ego sim eis in Deum.
21 But those whose hearts are set on their horrors and loathsome practices I shal repay for theirconduct -- declares the Lord Yahweh." '	21 Quorum cor post offendicula et abominationes suas ambulat, horum viam in capite suo ponam, dicit Dominus Deus.
22 The winged creatures then raised their wings and the wheels moved with them, with the glory of theGod of Israel over them, above.	22 Et elevaverunt cherubim alas suas, et rotæ cum eis, et gloria Dei Israël erat super ea :
23 And the glory of Yahweh rose from the centre of the city and halted on the mountain to the east of thecity.	23 et ascendit gloria Domini de medio civitatis, stetitque super montem qui est ad orientem urbis.
24 Then the spirit lifted me up and took me, in vision, in the spirit of God, to the exiles in Chaldaea, andthe vision which I had seen faded.	24 Et spiritus levavit me, adduxitque in Chaldæam ad transmigrationem, in visione, in spiritu Dei : et sublata est a me visio quam videram.
25 I then told the exiles everything that Yahweh had shown me.	25 Et locutus sum ad transmigrationem omnia verba Domini quæ ostenderat mihi.
