Ezekiel 11

NEW JERUSALEM	JERUSALEM
1 The spirit lifted me up and brought me to the east gate of the Temple of Yahweh, the gate that lookseastwards. There at the entrance to the gate stood twenty-five men, among whom I saw Jaazaniah son of Azzurand Pelatiah son of Benaiah, leaders of the people.	1 L'esprit m'enleva et m'emmena au porche oriental du Temple de Yahvé, celui qui regarde l'orient.Et voici qu'à l'entrée du porche, il y avait 25 hommes, parmi lesquels je vis Yaazanya fils de Azzur et Pelatyahufils de Benayahu, chefs du peuple.
2 He said to me, 'Son of man, these are the wicked schemers who are spreading their bad advicethrough this city.	2 Il me dit: Fils d'homme, ce sont les hommes qui méditent le mal, qui répandent de mauvaisconseils dans cette ville.
3 They say, "There will be no house-building yet awhile. The city is the cooking pot and we are themeat."	3 Ils disent: "On n'est pas près de bâtir des maisons! Voici la marmite et nous sommes la viande."
4 So prophesy against them, prophesy, son of man!'	4 C'est pourquoi, prophétise contre eux, prophétise, fils d'homme!
5 The spirit of Yahweh fel on me, and he said to me, 'Say, "Yahweh says this: I know what you aresaying, House of Israel, I know how insolent you are.	5 L'esprit de Yahvé fondit sur moi et il me dit: Parle! Ainsi parle Yahvé: C'est ainsi que vous avezparlé, maison d'Israël et je connais votre insolence.
6 You have filled this city with more and more of your victims; you have strewn its streets with victims.	6 Vous avez multiplié vos victimes dans cette ville; vous avez jonché ses rues de victimes.
7 And so the Lord Yahweh says this: Your victims, whom you have put in it, are the meat, and the city isthe cooking pot; but I shal take you out of it.	7 C'est pourquoi, ainsi parle le Seigneur Yahvé. Vos victimes, que vous avez mises au milieu d'elle,c'est la viande, et elle, c'est la marmite, mais je vous en ferai sortir.
8 You are afraid of the sword and I shall bring the sword down on you -- declares the Lord Yahweh-	8 Vous craignez l'épée, j'amènerai l'épée contre vous, oracle du Seigneur Yahvé.
9 and I shall take you out of it and hand you over to foreigners and bring you to justice;	9 Je vous en ferai sortir, je vous livrerai aux mains des étrangers, et de vous, je ferai justice.
10 you will fal by the sword on the soil of Israel; I shal execute justice on you, and you wil know that Iam Yahweh.	10 Vous tomberez par l'épée sur le territoire d'Israël, je vous jugerai et vous saurez que je suisYahvé.
11 This city wil be no cooking pot for you, nor wil you be the meat inside; I shal execute justice on youon the soil of Israel;	11 Cette ville ne sera pas pour vous une marmite, vous ne serez pas la viande au milieu d'elle: c'estsur le territoire d'Israël que je vous jugerai,
12 and you wil know that I am Yahweh, whose laws you have not obeyed and whose judgements youhave not kept; instead, you have adopted the customs of the nations round you." '	12 et vous saurez que je suis Yahvé dont vous n'avez pas suivi les lois ni observé les coutumes -mais vous avez agi selon la coutume des peuples qui vous entourent.
13 Now as I was prophesying, Pelatiah son of Benaiah dropped dead. I fel to the ground and cried out,'Ah, Lord Yahweh, are you going to annihilate the remnant of Israel?'	13 Or, comme je prophétisais, Pelatyahu fils de Benayahu mourut. Je tombai la face contre terre etm'écriai d'une voix forte: "Ah! Seigneur Yahvé, vas-tu anéantir ce qui reste d'Israël?"
14 The word of Yahweh was then addressed to me as follows,	14 Alors la parole de Yahvé me fut adressée en ces termes:
15 'Son of man, to your brothers one and al , to your kinsfolk and to the whole House of Israel, theinhabitants of Jerusalem have said, "Keep wel away from Yahweh. This country has now been made over tous!"	15 Fils d'homme, c'est à chacun de tes frères, à tes parents et à la maison d'Israël tout entière que leshabitants de Jérusalem disent: "Restez loin de Yahvé, c'est à nous que le pays fut donné en patrimoine."
16 So say, "The Lord Yahweh says this: Yes, I have sent them far away among the nations and I havedispersed them to foreign countries; and for a while I have been a sanctuary for them in the country to whichthey have gone."	16 C'est pourquoi, dis: Ainsi parle le Seigneur Yahvé. Oui, je les ai éloignés parmi les nations, je lesai dispersés dans les pays étrangers et j'ai été pour eux un sanctuaire, quelque temps, dans le pays où ils sontvenus.
17 So say, "The Lord Yahweh says this: I shall gather you back from the peoples, I shall col ect you infrom the countries where you have been scattered and give you the land of Israel.	17 C'est pourquoi, dis: Ainsi parle le Seigneur Yahvé. Je vous rassemblerai du milieu des peuples,je vous réunirai de tous les pays où vous avez été dispersés et je vous donnerai la terre d'Israël.
18 When they come back, they wil purge it of al its horrors and loathsome practices.	18 Ils y viendront et en extirperont toutes les horreurs et les abominations.
19 I shal give them a single heart and I shal put a new spirit in them; I shall remove the heart of stonefrom their bodies and give them a heart of flesh,	19 Je leur donnerai un seul coeur et je mettrai en eux un esprit nouveau: j'extirperai de leur chair lecoeur de pierre et je leur donnerai un coeur de chair,
20 so that they can keep my laws and respect my judgements and put them into practice. Then they wilbe my people and I shall be their God.	20 afin qu'ils marchent selon mes lois, qu'ils observent mes coutumes et qu'ils les mettent enpratique. Alors ils seront mon peuple et moi je serai leur Dieu.
21 But those whose hearts are set on their horrors and loathsome practices I shal repay for theirconduct -- declares the Lord Yahweh." '	21 Quant à ceux dont le coeur est attaché à leurs horreurs et à leurs abominations, je leurdemanderai compte de leur conduite, oracle du Seigneur Yahvé.
22 The winged creatures then raised their wings and the wheels moved with them, with the glory of theGod of Israel over them, above.	22 Alors les chérubins levèrent leurs ailes, et les roues allaient avec eux, tandis que la gloire duDieu d'Israël était sur eux, au-dessus.
23 And the glory of Yahweh rose from the centre of the city and halted on the mountain to the east of thecity.	23 La gloire de Yahvé s'éleva du milieu de la ville et s'arrêta sur la montagne qui se trouve à l'orientde la ville.
24 Then the spirit lifted me up and took me, in vision, in the spirit of God, to the exiles in Chaldaea, andthe vision which I had seen faded.	24 L'esprit m'enleva et m'emmena chez les Chaldéens, vers les exilés, en vision, dans l'esprit deDieu, et la vision dont j'avais été le témoin s'éloigna de moi.
25 I then told the exiles everything that Yahweh had shown me.	25 Je racontai aux exilés tout ce que Yahvé m'avait fait voir.
