NEW JERUSALEM	BIBLES DES PEUPLES
1 The spirit lifted me up and brought me to the east gate of the Temple of Yahweh, the gate that lookseastwards. There at the entrance to the gate stood twenty-five men, among whom I saw Jaazaniah son of Azzurand Pelatiah son of Benaiah, leaders of the people.	1 L’Esprit m’enleva et me conduisit à la porte orientale du Temple de Yahvé, celle qui regarde vers l’est. À l’entrée de la porte se tenaient 25 hommes au milieu desquels j’aperçus Yaazanya fils d’Azour et Pélatyas fils de Bénayas, chefs du peuple.
2 He said to me, 'Son of man, these are the wicked schemers who are spreading their bad advicethrough this city.	2 Yahvé me dit: “Fils d’homme, voilà des hommes qui méditent le mal et qui donnent de mauvais conseils à cette ville.
3 They say, "There will be no house-building yet awhile. The city is the cooking pot and we are themeat."	3 Ils disent: Nos maisons ne sont pas près de tomber, nous sommes la viande, et la ville est la marmite qui la conserve.
4 So prophesy against them, prophesy, son of man!'	4 C’est pourquoi, prophétise contre eux, prophétise, fils d’homme!”
5 The spirit of Yahweh fel on me, and he said to me, 'Say, "Yahweh says this: I know what you aresaying, House of Israel, I know how insolent you are.	5 À ce moment l’esprit de Yahvé tomba sur moi. Il me dit: “Redis-leur cette parole de Yahvé: Je sais ce que vous avez dans la tête, maison d’Israël, je sais ce que vous dites.
6 You have filled this city with more and more of your victims; you have strewn its streets with victims.	6 Mais vous avez rempli cette ville de victimes, et les rues de cadavres,
7 And so the Lord Yahweh says this: Your victims, whom you have put in it, are the meat, and the city isthe cooking pot; but I shal take you out of it.	7 et Yahvé vous dit: Les victimes que vous avez laissées dans la ville sont la viande, et la ville est la marmite. Mais vous, je vous en ferai sortir.
8 You are afraid of the sword and I shall bring the sword down on you -- declares the Lord Yahweh-	8 Puisque c’est l’épée que vous redoutez, j’amènerai sur vous l’épée - parole de Yahvé.
9 and I shall take you out of it and hand you over to foreigners and bring you to justice;	9 Je vous ferai sortir de la ville et je vous livrerai aux étrangers; c’est ainsi que je ferai justice de vous.
10 you will fal by the sword on the soil of Israel; I shal execute justice on you, and you wil know that Iam Yahweh.	10 Vous serez frappés par l’épée sur les frontières d’Israël; là je vous châtierai et vous saurez que je suis Yahvé.
11 This city wil be no cooking pot for you, nor wil you be the meat inside; I shal execute justice on youon the soil of Israel;	11 NO TEXT
12 and you wil know that I am Yahweh, whose laws you have not obeyed and whose judgements youhave not kept; instead, you have adopted the customs of the nations round you." '	12 Car je suis Yahvé, et vous n’avez pas obéi à mes commandements, vous n’avez pas suivi mes règles, mais vous vous êtes conduits comme les païens qui vous entourent.”
13 Now as I was prophesying, Pelatiah son of Benaiah dropped dead. I fel to the ground and cried out,'Ah, Lord Yahweh, are you going to annihilate the remnant of Israel?'	13 Comme je prophétisais, Pélatyas fils de Bénayas mourut; je tombai la face contre terre et m’écriai d’une voix forte: “Ah, Yahvé! Veux-tu donc détruire tout ce qui reste d’Israël?”
14 The word of Yahweh was then addressed to me as follows,	14 Cette parole de Yahvé me fut alors adressée:
15 'Son of man, to your brothers one and al , to your kinsfolk and to the whole House of Israel, theinhabitants of Jerusalem have said, "Keep wel away from Yahweh. This country has now been made over tous!"	15 “Fils d’homme, tu sais ce que les habitants de Jérusalem disent de tes frères, de tes proches, de toute la race d’Israël: Qu’ils restent là-bas loin de Yahvé, c’est nous qui avons hérité du pays.
16 So say, "The Lord Yahweh says this: Yes, I have sent them far away among the nations and I havedispersed them to foreign countries; and for a while I have been a sanctuary for them in the country to whichthey have gone."	16 “C’est pourquoi tu vas leur dire cette parole de Yahvé: Oui, je les ai envoyés au loin parmi les nations, je les ai dispersés dans ces pays, mais je suis pour eux un sanctuaire dans ces pays où ils sont allés.
17 So say, "The Lord Yahweh says this: I shall gather you back from the peoples, I shall col ect you infrom the countries where you have been scattered and give you the land of Israel.	17 Tu vas donc leur dire cette parole de Yahvé: Je vous rassemblerai d’entre les peuples, je vous réunirai de ces pays où vous avez été dispersés et je vous redonnerai la terre d’Israël.
18 When they come back, they wil purge it of al its horrors and loathsome practices.	18 Ils y entreront de nouveau et ils en arracheront toutes les horreurs, toutes les idoles.
19 I shal give them a single heart and I shal put a new spirit in them; I shall remove the heart of stonefrom their bodies and give them a heart of flesh,	19 Je leur donnerai un cœur nouveau et je mettrai au-dedans d’eux un esprit nouveau. J’ôterai de leur chair leur cœur de pierre et je leur donnerai un cœur de chair.
20 so that they can keep my laws and respect my judgements and put them into practice. Then they wilbe my people and I shall be their God.	20 Ainsi ils marcheront selon mes commandements, ils observeront mes lois et les mettront en pratique; alors ils seront mon peuple et moi je serai leur Dieu.
21 But those whose hearts are set on their horrors and loathsome practices I shal repay for theirconduct -- declares the Lord Yahweh." '	21 Mais ceux dont le cœur est attaché à leurs ordures et à leurs horreurs, je leur ferai payer leur conduite, parole de Yahvé.”
22 The winged creatures then raised their wings and the wheels moved with them, with the glory of theGod of Israel over them, above.	22 À ce moment les chérubins déployèrent leurs ailes et les roues allèrent avec eux; la Gloire du Dieu d’Israël reposait sur eux.
23 And the glory of Yahweh rose from the centre of the city and halted on the mountain to the east of thecity.	23 La Gloire de Yahvé se leva du milieu de la ville; elle s’éleva et s’arrêta sur la montagne qui est à l’orient de la ville.
24 Then the spirit lifted me up and took me, in vision, in the spirit of God, to the exiles in Chaldaea, andthe vision which I had seen faded.	24 Alors l’Esprit m’enleva et me ramena en Kaldée auprès des captifs; tout cela se déroula dans une vision, c’était l’œuvre de l’Esprit de Dieu. Et puis cette vision que j’avais eue s’éloigna de moi
25 I then told the exiles everything that Yahweh had shown me.	25 et je pus raconter aux exilés tout ce que Yahvé m’avait montré.
