Ezekiel 11

NEW JERUSALEM	NOVA VULGATA
1 The spirit lifted me up and brought me to the east gate of the Temple of Yahweh, the gate that lookseastwards. There at the entrance to the gate stood twenty-five men, among whom I saw Jaazaniah son of Azzurand Pelatiah son of Benaiah, leaders of the people.	1 Et elevavit me spiritus et duxit me ad portam domus Domini orientalem,quae respicit solis ortum; et ecce in introitu portae viginti quinque viri, etvidi in medio eorum Iezoniam filium Azur et Pheltiam filium Banaiae, principespopuli.
2 He said to me, 'Son of man, these are the wicked schemers who are spreading their bad advicethrough this city.	2 Dixitque ad me: “ Fili hominis, hi sunt viri, qui cogitantiniquitatem et tractant consilium pessimum in urbe ista
3 They say, "There will be no house-building yet awhile. The city is the cooking pot and we are themeat."	3 dicentes: “Nonnedudum aedificatae sunt domus? Haec est lebes, nos autem carnes”.
4 So prophesy against them, prophesy, son of man!'	4 Idcircovaticinare de eis; vaticinare, fili hominis ”.
5 The spirit of Yahweh fel on me, and he said to me, 'Say, "Yahweh says this: I know what you aresaying, House of Israel, I know how insolent you are.	5 Et irruit in me spiritusDomini et dixit ad me: “ Loquere. Haec dicit Dominus: Sic locuti estis, domusIsrael, et cogitationes cordis vestri ego novi.
6 You have filled this city with more and more of your victims; you have strewn its streets with victims.	6 Plurimos occidistis in urbehac et implestis vias eius interfectis.
7 And so the Lord Yahweh says this: Your victims, whom you have put in it, are the meat, and the city isthe cooking pot; but I shal take you out of it.	7 Propterea haec dicit Dominus Deus:Interfecti vestri, quos posuistis in medio eius, hi sunt carnes, et haec estlebes, et educam vos de medio eius.
8 You are afraid of the sword and I shall bring the sword down on you -- declares the Lord Yahweh-	8 Gladium metuitis, et gladium inducam supervos, ait Dominus Deus.
9 and I shall take you out of it and hand you over to foreigners and bring you to justice;	9 Et eiciam vos de medio eius daboque vos in manu hostiumet faciam in vobis iudicia.
10 you will fal by the sword on the soil of Israel; I shal execute justice on you, and you wil know that Iam Yahweh.	10 Gladio cadetis, in finibus Israel iudicabo vos,et scietis quia ego Dominus.
11 This city wil be no cooking pot for you, nor wil you be the meat inside; I shal execute justice on youon the soil of Israel;	11 Haec non erit vobis in lebetem, et vos noneritis in medio eius in carnes: in finibus Israel iudicabo vos;
12 and you wil know that I am Yahweh, whose laws you have not obeyed and whose judgements youhave not kept; instead, you have adopted the customs of the nations round you." '	12 et scietisquia ego Dominus, qui in praeceptis meis non ambulastis et iudicia mea nonfecistis, sed iuxta iudicia gentium, quae in circuitu vestro sunt, estis operati”.
13 Now as I was prophesying, Pelatiah son of Benaiah dropped dead. I fel to the ground and cried out,'Ah, Lord Yahweh, are you going to annihilate the remnant of Israel?'	13 Et factum est cum prophetarem, Pheltias filius Banaiae mortuus est; et cecidiin faciem meam, clamans voce magna, et dixi: “ Heu, Domine Deus,consummationem tu facis reliquiarum Israel! ”.
14 The word of Yahweh was then addressed to me as follows,	14 Et factum est verbum Domini ad me dicens:
15 'Son of man, to your brothers one and al , to your kinsfolk and to the whole House of Israel, theinhabitants of Jerusalem have said, "Keep wel away from Yahweh. This country has now been made over tous!"	15 “ Fili hominis, fratres tui,fratres tui, viri propinqui tui et omnis domus Israel, universi, quibus dixerunthabitatores Ierusalem: “Longe sunt a Domino; nobis data est terra inpossessionem”.
16 So say, "The Lord Yahweh says this: Yes, I have sent them far away among the nations and I havedispersed them to foreign countries; and for a while I have been a sanctuary for them in the country to whichthey have gone."	16 Propterea haec dicit Dominus Deus: Quia longe feci eos ingentibus et quia dispersi eos in terris, ero eis in sanctificationem modicam interris, ad quas venerunt.
17 So say, "The Lord Yahweh says this: I shall gather you back from the peoples, I shall col ect you infrom the countries where you have been scattered and give you the land of Israel.	17 Propterea loquere: Haec dicit Dominus Deus:Congregabo vos de populis et adunabo de terris, in quibus dispersi estis,daboque vobis humum Israel.
18 When they come back, they wil purge it of al its horrors and loathsome practices.	18 Et ingredientur illuc et auferent omnesoffensiones cunctasque abominationes eius de illa.
19 I shal give them a single heart and I shal put a new spirit in them; I shall remove the heart of stonefrom their bodies and give them a heart of flesh,	19 Et dabo eis cor aliud etspiritum novum tribuam in visceribus eorum; et auferam cor lapideum de carneeorum et dabo eis cor carneum,
20 so that they can keep my laws and respect my judgements and put them into practice. Then they wilbe my people and I shall be their God.	20 ut in praeceptis meis ambulent et iudicia meacustodiant faciantque ea et sint mihi in populum, et ego sim eis in Deum.
21 But those whose hearts are set on their horrors and loathsome practices I shal repay for theirconduct -- declares the Lord Yahweh." '	21 Quorum cor post offendicula et abominationes suas ambulat, horum viam in capitesuo ponam ”, dicit Dominus Deus.
22 The winged creatures then raised their wings and the wheels moved with them, with the glory of theGod of Israel over them, above.	22 Et elevaverunt cherubim alas suas, et rotae cum eis, et gloria Dei Israelerat super eos;
23 And the glory of Yahweh rose from the centre of the city and halted on the mountain to the east of thecity.	23 et ascendit gloria Domini de medio civitatis stetitque supermontem, qui est ad orientem urbis.
24 Then the spirit lifted me up and took me, in vision, in the spirit of God, to the exiles in Chaldaea, andthe vision which I had seen faded.	24 Et spiritus levavit me adduxitque in Chaldaeam ad transmigrationem in visionein spiritu Dei; et sublata est a me visio, quam videram.
25 I then told the exiles everything that Yahweh had shown me.	25 Et locutus sum adtransmigrationem omnia verba Domini, quae ostenderat mihi.
