Jeremiah 9

NEW JERUSALEM	BIBBIA RICCIOTTI
1 Who wil find me a wayfarer's shelter in the desert, for me to quit my people, and leave them far behind?For al of them are adulterers, a conspiracy of traitors.	1 - Chi concederà al mio capo un profluvio di acqua e agli occhi miei un torrente di lacrime? E io piangerò dì e notte gli uccisi della figlia del popolo mio!
2 They bend their tongues like a bow; not truth but falsehood holds sway in the land; yes, they go fromcrime to crime, but me they do not know, Yahweh declares.	2 Chi mi concederà nella solitudine un rifugio di viandanti, e che io abbandoni il mio popolo e mi ritiri da costoro? perchè tutti sono adulteri, una congrega di prevaricatori.
3 Let each be on his guard against his friend; do not trust a brother, for every brother aims but to supplant,and every friend is a peddler of slander.	3 E vibrano la loro lingua quale arco di menzogna e non di verità, fanno i prepotenti sulla terra, perchè escono da un misfatto per un altro misfatto e me hanno misconosciuto, dice il Signore.
4 Each one cheats his friend, never tel ing the truth; they have trained their tongues to lie and devote altheir energies to doing wrong.	4 Ciascuno stia in guardia dal suo prossimo e non si fidi d'alcuno dei suoi fratelli, perchè ogni fratello è pronto a imbrogliare il fratello e ogni amico procede fintamente.
5 You live in a world of bad faith! Out of bad faith, they refuse to know me, Yahweh declares.	5 Gli uni gabbano gli altri, e non parlano con verità, perchè hanno ammaestrato la loro lingua a parlar falso, si travagliano a mal fare.
6 And, so, Yahweh Sabaoth declares, now I shal purge them and test them, no other way to treat thedaughter of my people!	6 «La tua dimora è in mezzo all'impostura, per impostura negano di conoscermi», dice il Signore.
7 Their tongue is a deadly arrow, their words are in bad faith; with his mouth each wishes his neighbourpeace, while in his heart plotting a trap for him.	7 Per questo il Signore degli eserciti dice così: «ecco ch'io li metterò alla fusione e all'assaggio: e che altro potrei fare riguardo alla figlia del popolo mio?
8 Shal I fail to punish them for this, Yahweh demands, or on such a nation fail to exact vengeance?	8 Una saetta laceratrice è la loro lingua, essa parla fintamente: nella bocca ha proteste di pace per l'amico, e con l'interno gli pone le insidie.
9 I raise the wail and lament for the mountains, the dirge for the desert pastures, for they have been burnt:no one passes there, the sound of flocks is heard no more. Birds of the sky and animals, al have fled, al aregone.	9 Non chiederò conto io di queste cose, dice il Signore, o non chiederà vendetta l'anima mia d'una gente come questa?
10 I shal make Jerusalem a heap of ruins, a lair for jackals, and the towns of Judah an uninhabitedwasteland.	10 Io voglio alzare un flebile lamento sui monti e mesto compianto sui pascoli ameni, perchè sono stati incendiati e più nessuno vi passa e più non s'ode la voce di quei che li possedevano; persino gli uccelli del cielo e le bestie sono tutti partiti e se ne sono andati.
11 Who is wise enough to understand this? To whom has Yahweh's mouth spoken to explain it? Why isthe country annihilated, burnt like the desert where no one passes?	11 E farò di Gerusalemme mucchi di rottami e covi di serpentacci, e ridurrò le città di Giuda nella desolazione senza più nessuno che le abiti».
12 Yahweh says, 'This is because they have forsaken my Law which I gave them and have not listened tomy voice or fol owed it,	12 Qual è l'uomo sapiente che capisca questo? A chi la parola della bocca del Signore si manifesterà, affinchè spieghi il motivo perchè mai questa terra è stata messa a soqquadro e arsa, come un deserto, senza più nessuno che vi transiti?
13 but have followed their own stubborn hearts, have fol owed the Baals as their ancestors taught them.'	13 E il Signore disse: «Perchè hanno abbandonato la legge data loro da me e non diedero ascolto alla mia voce e conforme a questa non hanno voluto camminare;
14 So Yahweh Sabaoth, the God of Israel, says this, 'Now I shal give this people wormwood to eat andpoisoned water to drink.	14 ma sono andati dietro alla depravazione del loro cuore e dietro ai Baalim, ammaestrati dall'esempio dei loro padri».
15 I shal scatter them among nations unknown to their ancestors or to them; and I shal pursue them withthe sword until I have annihilated them.'	15 Poichè, così dice il Signore degli eserciti il Dio d'Israele: «Ecco che io ciberò questo popolo di assenzio e li abbevererò con acqua intossicata,
16 Yahweh Sabaoth says this, 'Prepare to cal for the mourning women! Send for those who are best at it!	16 e li disperderò tra genti mai conosciute nè da essi nè dai padri loro, e manderò dietro ad essi la spada fino a tanto che siano sterminati».
17 Let them lose no time in raising the lament over us! Let our eyes rain tears, our eyelids run withweeping!	17 Così dice il Signore degli eserciti, il Dio d'Israele: «Pensate ai casi vostri e chiamate le lamentatrici che vengono: mandate a prendere quelle più abili, e accorrano.
18 A lament makes itself heard in Zion, "What ruin is ours, what utter shame! For we must leave thecountry, our homes have been knocked down!" '	18 Si affrettino e intonino un canto lamentevole sopra di noi, si sciolgano gli occhi nostri in lacrime e le nostre ciglia si stemprino in acqua.
19 Now listen, you women, to Yahweh's word, let your ears take in the word his own mouth speaks. Teachyour daughters how to wail and teach one another this dirge,	19 Sì, una voce lamentevole è stata udita da Sion: - Come siamo stati devastati e profondamente confusi; perchè dobbiamo abbandonare il patrio suolo, e le nostre abitazioni furono atterrate!-».
20 'Death has climbed in at our windows, and made its way into our palaces; it has cut down the childrenin the street, the young people in the squares-	20 Udite dunque, o donne, la voce del Signore, e le vostre orecchie raccolgano la parola dalla sua bocca, insegnate alle vostre figlie un cantico di duolo, ciascuna ammaestri la vicina a far lamento.
21 Speak! Yahweh declares this -- human corpses are strewn like dung in the open field, like sheaves leftby the reaper, with no one to gather them.'	21 Perchè la morte è salita per le nostre finestre, è penetrata nelle nostre case a sterminare i fanciulli dalle strade e la gioventù dalle piazze.
22 Yahweh says this, 'Let the sage not boast of wisdom, nor the valiant of valour, nor the wealthy ofriches!	22 Parla: così dice il Signore: «E i cadaveri umani, come letame, giaceranno stramazzati su tutta la faccia della contrada e come lo strame dietro alle spalle del mietitore senza alcuno che raccolga».
23 But let anyone who wants to boast, boast of this: of understanding and knowing me. For I am Yahweh,who acts with faithful love, justice, and uprightness on earth; yes, these are what please me,' Yahweh declares.	23 Così dice il Signore: «Il sapiente non vanti la sua sapienza, nè il forte la sua fortezza, nè il ricco vanti le sue ricchezze,
24 'Look, the days are coming, Yahweh declares, when I shal punish al who are circumcised only in theflesh:	24 ma di questo si faccia un vanto, chi vuole vantarsi, di sapere e conoscere me, chè sono io il Signore che faccio misericordia e giudizio e giustizia nella terra; perchè di queste cose mi compiaccio, dice il Signore.
25 Egypt, Judah, Edom, the Ammonites, Moab, and all the men with shaven temples who live in thedesert. For al those nations, and the whole House of Israel too, are uncircumcised at heart.'	25 Ecco che verrà tempo, dice il Signore, ed io chiederò conto a tutti siano pur segnati col segno della circoncisione.
	26 All'Egitto, a Giuda, a Edom e ai figli di Ammon, a Moab e a tutti quelli che si tosano in cerchio la chioma, che abitano nel deserto; perchè tutte queste nazioni sono incirconcise ed anche tutta la casa d'Israele è incirconcisa nel cuore».
