1 The words of Yahweh that were addressed to the prophet Jeremiah against the nations.	1 Parola del Signore, indirizzata al profeta Geremia contro le nazioni.
2 On Egypt. 10 For this is the Day of Lord Yahweh Sabaoth, a day of vengeance when he takes revenge on his foes:the sword wil devour until gorged, until drunk with their blood, for Lord Yahweh Sabaoth is holding a sacrificialfeast in the land of the north, on the River Euphrates.	10 Ma quel giorno per il Signore, Dio degli eserciti, è giorno di vendetta contro i suoi nemici. 13 The word that came from Yahweh to the prophet Jeremiah when Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylonadvanced to attack Egypt.	13 Questa è la parola che proferì il Signore al profeta Geremia circa l'arrivo di Nabucodònosor, re di Babilonia, per battere il paese di Egitto.
14 Publish it in Egypt, proclaim it in Migdol, proclaim it in Noph and Tahpanhes! Say, 'Stand your ground,be prepared, for the sword is devouring al round you!'	14 "Annunziatelo in Egitto e fatelo sentire in Migdòl, fatelo sentire a Menfi e Tafni. 17 They have given Pharaoh king of Egypt the nickname, 'Much-noise-but-he-lets-the-chance-slip-by'!	17 Qui han chiamato il faraone, re di Egitto: "Fragore che ha lasciato passare l'occasione!".

20 Egypt was a splendid heifer, but a gadfly from the north has settled on her.	20 Giovenca bellissima è l'Egitto: un tafano del nord è giunto su di essa.
21 The mercenaries she had with her, these too were like fattened calves: but they too have taken totheir heels, have al run away, not held their ground, for their day of disaster has overtaken them, their time forbeing punished.	21 Anche i suoi mercenari in mezzo ad essa sono come vitelli d'ingrasso. 24 The daughter of Egypt is put to shame, handed over to a people from the north.	24 E' vergognosa la figlia di Egitto, è consegnata in mano di un popolo del nord".
25 Yahweh Sabaoth, God of Israel, has said, 'Look, I shal punish Amon of No, Pharaoh, Egypt, its gods,its kings, Pharaoh and those who put their trust in him.	25 Dice il Signore degli eserciti, Dio di Israele: "Ecco, io sto per visitare Amòn di Tebe, il faraone e l'Egitto, i suoi dèi e i suoi re; il faraone e chi confida in lui.
26 I shal hand him over to those who are determined to kil him, to Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, tohis generals. But afterwards, Egypt wil be inhabited again as in the past, Yahweh declares.	26 Li consegnerò in mano di chi cerca la loro vita, cioè in mano di Nabucodònosor, re di Babilonia, e in mano dei suoi ministri. Dopo questo, però, l'Egitto sarà abitato come nei giorni antichi. Oracolo del Signore.
27 But do not be afraid, my servant Jacob, Israel, do not be alarmed: for look, I shal rescue you fromafar and your descendants from the country where they are captive. Jacob wil return and be at peace, secure,with no one to trouble him.	27 Ma tu non temere, servo mio Giacobbe, e non spaventarti, o Israele, perché ecco: ti salvo da lontano e la tua progenie dal paese del suo esilio. Ritornerà, infatti, Giacobbe e riposerà, sarà tranquillo e senza chi lo spaventi.
28 Do not be afraid, my servant Jacob, Yahweh declares, for I am with you: I shal make an end of al thenations where I have driven you, but I shal not make an end of you, I shal discipline you only as you deserve,not leaving you quite unpunished.	28 Tu non temere, servo mio Giacobbe, oracolo del Signore, perché con te sono io! Sì, farò sterminio tra tutte le nazioni ovunque ti ho fatto disperdere. Di te, però, non farò sterminio, ti castigherò come è giusto, ma non ti lascerò del tutto impunito!".
