Jeremiah 16

NEW JERUSALEM	BIBBIA TINTORI
1 The word of Yahweh was addressed to me as fol ows:	1 Il Signore mi rivolse la parola e mi disse:
2 'You are not to marry or have sons and daughters in this place.	2 « Tu non devi prender moglie, non devi aver nè figli nè figlie in questo luogo.
3 For Yahweh says this regarding the sons and daughters to be born in this place, about the motherswho give birth to them, and about the fathers who beget them in this land,	3 Perchè ecco quanto dice il Signore riguardo ai figli e alle figlie che nasceranno in questo luogo, riguardo alle madri che li avran partoriti e riguardo ai padri dai quali saran nati in questo paese:
4 "They wil die of deadly diseases, unlamented and unburied; they will be like dung spread on theground; they wil meet their end by sword and famine, and their corpses wil be food for the birds of the sky andthe beasts of earth."	4 quelli che morranno di malattia non avranno nè pianto nè sepoltura, saran come concime sopra la terra; quelli divorati dalla spada e dalla fame avranno il loro cadavere dato in pasto agli uccelli del cielo e alle bestie della terra ».
5 'Yes, Yahweh says this, "Go into no house where there is mourning, do not go and lament or grievewith them; for I have withdrawn my peace from this people, Yahweh declares, and faithful love and pity too.	5 Infatti, ecco quanto dice il Signore: « Non entrar nella casa ov'è il convito, non andare a piangere, nè a consolarli, perchè io ho tolta la mia pace a questo popolo — dice il Signore, — la misericordia, la compassione;
6 High or low, they wil die in this country, without burial or lament; there wil be no gashing, no shaving ofthe head for them.	6 grandi e piccoli morranno in questa terra, non avranno nè sepoltura nè pianto, non si faranno incisioni, non si strapperanno i capelli per loro.
7 No bread will be broken for the mourner to comfort him for the dead; no cup of consolation wil beoffered him for his father or his mother.	7 E non spezzeran fra loro il pane per chi piange, per consolarlo del morto, non daranno loro il calice di consolazione per il padre e per la madre.
8 "And do not enter a house where there is feasting, to sit with them and eat and drink.	8 Non entrare nella casa ove si banchetta, per sederti in loro compagnia e mangiare e bere,
9 For Yahweh Sabaoth, the God of Israel, says this: In this place, before your eyes, in your own days, Iwil silence the shouts of rejoicing and mirth and the voices of bridegroom and bride.	9 perchè queste cose dice il Signore degli eserciti, il Dio d'Israele: « Ecco io farò cessare in questo luogo, sotto i vostri occhi, durante la vostra vita, il grido di gioia, il grido d'allegrezza, i canti dello sposo, i canti della sposa ».
10 "When you tel these people this and they ask you: Why has Yahweh decreed such complete andtotal disaster for us? What have we done wrong? What sin have we committed against Yahweh our God?	10 Or quando tu avrai annunziato a questo popolo tutte queste cose, essi ti diranno: « Per qual motivo il Signore annunzia contro di noi tutto questo gran male? Qual'è la nostra iniquità? qual'è il nostro peccato che abbiamo commesso contro il Signore Dio nostro? »
11 then you are to answer: It is because your ancestors abandoned me, Yahweh declares, and fol owedother gods, and served and worshipped them. They abandoned me and did not keep my Law.	11 E tu risponderai loro: « Perchè i vostri padri m'hanno abbandonato — dice il Signore — e sono andati dietro a dèi stranieri, e li han serviti e li hanno adorati, e hanno abbandonato me, e non hanno osservata la mia legge.
12 And you for your part have behaved even worse than your ancestors. Look, each of you fol ows hisown stubborn and wicked inclinations, without listening to me.	12 Voi poi avete fatto peggio dei vostri padri: ecco infatti che ognuno di voi va dietro alla perversità del suo cattivo cuore, e non mi dà retta.
13 And so, I shal eject you from this country into a country unknown to you or to your ancestors, andthere you can serve other gods, day and night, for I shal show you no more favour."	13 Ma io vi caccerò da questa terra in un'altra che non avete conosciuta, nè voi nè i vostri padri; e là servirete a dèi stranieri giorno e notte, ed essi non vi daranno pace.
14 'Look, the days are coming, Yahweh declares, when people wil no longer say, "As Yahweh lives whobrought the Israelites out of Egypt!"	14 Per questo, ecco che viene il tempo — dice il Signore — in cui non si dirà più: « Vive il Signore che trasse i figli d'Israele dalla terra d'Egitto»,
15 but, "As Yahweh lives who brought the Israelites back from the land of the north and al the countriesto which he had driven them." I shal bring them back to the very soil I gave their ancestors.'	15 ma «Vive il Signore che trasse i figli. d'Israele dalla terra, del settentrione e da tutti i paesi in cui li avrò dispersi ». E io li ricondurrò nella loro terra, che diedi ai loro padri.
16 'Watch, I shal send for many fishermen, Yahweh declares, and these wil fish them up; next, I shalsend for many huntsmen, and these wil hunt them out of every mountain, every hil , and out of the holes in therocks.	16 Ecco io manderò molti pescatori — dice il Signore — e li pescheranno, e dopo manderò loro molti cacciatori, e li cacceranno per tutti i monti, per tutti i colli e nelle caverne delle rocce,
17 For my eyes watch al their ways, these are not hidden from me, and their guilt does not escape mygaze.	17 perchè gli occhi miei, osservano tutte le loro vie, che non son nascoste ai miei sguardi, come non fu nascosta la loro iniquità agli occhi miei.
18 I shal requite their guilt and their sin twice over, since they have pol uted my country with thecarcases of their Horrors, and fil ed my heritage with their Abominations.'	18 E prima renderò loro duplicate le loro iniquità e i loro peccati, perchè han contaminata la mia terra coi cadaveri dei loro idoli, e colle loro abominazioni hanno empita la mia eredità.
19 Yahweh, my strength, my stronghold, my refuge in time of distress! To you the nations wil come fromthe remotest parts of the earth and say, 'Our fathers inherited nothing but Delusion, Futility of no use whatever.	19 Signore, mia forza, mio sostegno, mio rifugio nel giorno della tribolazione, le nazioni verranno a te dagli ultimi confini della terra, e diranno: « Veramente i nostri padri hanno ereditata la menzogna, la vanità, che nulla giovò ad essi ».
20 Can human beings make their own gods? These are not gods at al !'	20 può forse l'uomo farsi i suoi dèi? E son degli dèi? si Per questo ecco che io mostrerò loro questa volta, mostrerò loro la mia mano, la mia potenza, e conosceranno che io mi chiamo il Signore.
21 'Now listen, I will make them acknowledge, this time I wil make them acknowledge my hand and mymight; and then they wil know that Yahweh is my name.'
