Jeremiah 16

NEW JERUSALEM	DIODATI
1 The word of Yahweh was addressed to me as fol ows:	1 POI la parola del Signore mi fu indirizzata, dicendo:
2 'You are not to marry or have sons and daughters in this place.	2 Non prenderti moglie, e non aver figliuoli, nè figliuole, in questo luogo.
3 For Yahweh says this regarding the sons and daughters to be born in this place, about the motherswho give birth to them, and about the fathers who beget them in this land,	3 Perciocchè, così ha detto il Signore intorno a’ figliuoli, ed alle figliuole, che nasceranno in questo luogo, ed alle madri che li avranno partoriti, ed a’ padri che li avranno generati in questo paese:
4 "They wil die of deadly diseases, unlamented and unburied; they will be like dung spread on theground; they wil meet their end by sword and famine, and their corpses wil be food for the birds of the sky andthe beasts of earth."	4 Morranno di morti dolorose; non se ne farà cordoglio, e non saranno seppelliti; saranno per letame in su la faccia della terra, e saranno consumati per la spada, e per la fame; ed i lor corpi morti saranno per pasto agli uccelli del cielo, ed alle bestie della terra.
5 'Yes, Yahweh says this, "Go into no house where there is mourning, do not go and lament or grievewith them; for I have withdrawn my peace from this people, Yahweh declares, and faithful love and pity too.	5 Perciocchè, così ha detto il Signore: Non entrare in alcuna casa di convito funerale, e non andar per far cordoglio, e non condolerti con loro; perciocchè io ho ritratta la mia pace da questo popolo, dice il Signore, e la mia benignità, e le mie compassioni.
6 High or low, they wil die in this country, without burial or lament; there wil be no gashing, no shaving ofthe head for them.	6 E grandi e piccoli morranno in questo paese, senza esser seppelliti; e non si farà cordoglio per loro, e niuno si farà tagliature addosso, nè si raderà per loro;
7 No bread will be broken for the mourner to comfort him for the dead; no cup of consolation wil beoffered him for his father or his mother.	7 e non si spartirà loro pane per lo duolo, per consolarli del morto; e non si darà loro a bere la coppa delle consolazioni per padre, nè per madre di alcuno.
8 "And do not enter a house where there is feasting, to sit with them and eat and drink.	8 Parimente non entrare in alcuna casa di convito, per seder con loro, per mangiare e per bere.
9 For Yahweh Sabaoth, the God of Israel, says this: In this place, before your eyes, in your own days, Iwil silence the shouts of rejoicing and mirth and the voices of bridegroom and bride.	9 Perciocchè, così ha detto il Signor degli eserciti, l’Iddio d’Israele: Ecco, io fo cessare in questo luogo, davanti agli occhi vostri, e a’ dì vostri, la voce di gioia, e la voce di allegrezza, la voce dello sposo, e la voce della sposa
10 "When you tel these people this and they ask you: Why has Yahweh decreed such complete andtotal disaster for us? What have we done wrong? What sin have we committed against Yahweh our God?	10 Or avverrà, quando tu avrai annunziate tutte queste parole a questo popolo, ch’essi ti diranno: Perchè ha il Signore pronunziato contro a noi tutto questo gran male? e quale è la nostra iniquità, e quale è il nostro peccato, che noi abbiamo commesso contro al Signore Iddio nostro?
11 then you are to answer: It is because your ancestors abandoned me, Yahweh declares, and fol owedother gods, and served and worshipped them. They abandoned me and did not keep my Law.	11 E tu dirai loro: Perciocchè i vostri padri mi hanno lasciato, dice il Signore; e sono iti dietro ad altri dii, e li hanno serviti, ed adorati; ed hanno abbandonato me, e non hanno osservata la mia Legge.
12 And you for your part have behaved even worse than your ancestors. Look, each of you fol ows hisown stubborn and wicked inclinations, without listening to me.	12 E voi avete fatto vie peggio che i vostri padri; ed ecco, ciascun di voi va dietro alla durezza del cuor suo malvagio, per non ascoltarmi.
13 And so, I shal eject you from this country into a country unknown to you or to your ancestors, andthere you can serve other gods, day and night, for I shal show you no more favour."	13 Perciò, io vi caccerò fuor di questo paese, in un paese che nè voi, nè i vostri padri, non avete conosciuto; e quivi servirete giorno e notte, ad altri dii; perciocchè io non vi farò grazia
14 'Look, the days are coming, Yahweh declares, when people wil no longer say, "As Yahweh lives whobrought the Israelites out of Egypt!"	14 Ma pure, ecco, i giorni vengono, dice il Signore, che non si dirà più: Il Signor vive, il quale ha tratti i figliuoli d’Israele fuor del paese di Egitto;
15 but, "As Yahweh lives who brought the Israelites back from the land of the north and al the countriesto which he had driven them." I shal bring them back to the very soil I gave their ancestors.'	15 ma: Il Signore vive, che ha tratti i figliuoli d’Israele fuor del paese di Settentrione, e di tutti gli altri paesi, ne’ quali egli li avea scacciati; ed io li ricondurrò alla lor terra, che io diedi a’ padri loro.
16 'Watch, I shal send for many fishermen, Yahweh declares, and these wil fish them up; next, I shalsend for many huntsmen, and these wil hunt them out of every mountain, every hil , and out of the holes in therocks.	16 Ecco, io mando a molti pescatori, che li peschino, dice il Signore; e dopo ciò, a molti cacciatori che li caccino sopra ogni monte, e sopra ogni colle, e nelle buche de’ sassi.
17 For my eyes watch al their ways, these are not hidden from me, and their guilt does not escape mygaze.	17 Perciocchè gli occhi miei son sopra tutte le lor vie; quelle non son nascoste dal mio cospetto, e la loro iniquità non è occulta d’innanzi agli occhi miei.
18 I shal requite their guilt and their sin twice over, since they have pol uted my country with thecarcases of their Horrors, and fil ed my heritage with their Abominations.'	18 E imprima renderò loro al doppio la retribuzione della loro iniquità, e del lor peccato; perciocchè han contaminato il mio paese ed hanno empiuta la mia eredità dei carcami delle lor cose esecrabili, e delle loro abbominazioni.
19 Yahweh, my strength, my stronghold, my refuge in time of distress! To you the nations wil come fromthe remotest parts of the earth and say, 'Our fathers inherited nothing but Delusion, Futility of no use whatever.	19 O Signore, mia forza, e mia fortezza, e mio rifugio nel giorno della distretta, le genti verranno a te dalle estremità della terra, e diranno: Veramente i padri nostri hanno posseduta falsità, vanità, e cose nelle quali non era alcun giovamento.
20 Can human beings make their own gods? These are not gods at al !'	20 Farebbesi l’uomo degl’iddii, i quali però non son dii?
21 'Now listen, I will make them acknowledge, this time I wil make them acknowledge my hand and mymight; and then they wil know that Yahweh is my name.'	21 Per tanto, ecco io farò lor conoscere questa volta, io farò lor conoscere la mia mano, e la mia forza; e sapranno che il mio Nome è: Il Signore
