Isaiah 63

NEW JERUSALEM	BIBBIA VOLGARE
1 Who is this coming from Edom, from Bozrah in crimson garments, so magnificently dressed, marchingso ful of strength? - It is I, whose word is saving justice, whose power is to save.	1 Chi è costui che viene di Edom (e venne) con vestimenta tinte di Bosra? (Edom sì è una contrada; e tanto viene a dire Edom, come lo mondo, il quale è terreno; però che cupiditade è, e sanguineo per diletto carnale. Bosra si è un' altra contrada; significa qui lo inferno) costui è bene formato nella sua stola (cioè nel suo guarnimento), e va colla moltitudine della sua virtude. Io sono colui che parlo giustizia, e sono forte combattitore a salvare.
2 -Why are your garments red, your clothes like someone treading the winepress?	2 Adunque per che è rosso lo tuo vestimento, e le tue vestimenta sono fatte come quelle di coloro che calcano l'uva ne' canali?
3 -I have trodden the winepress alone; of my people, not one was with me. So I trod them down in myanger, I trampled on them in my wrath. Their blood squirted over my garments and al my clothes are stained.	3 Io calcai solo lo torculare, e di tutte le genti non fu uomo meco; io li calcai nel mio furore, e conculca'li nella mia ira; e lo loro sangue fu sparso sopra lo mio vestimento, e insozza'mi tutti li vestimenti miei.
4 For I have decided on a day of vengeance, my year of retribution has come.	4 Lo di della vendetta è nel mio cuore; e l'anno della mia redenzione ne viene.
5 I looked: there was no one to help me; I was appal ed but could find no supporter! Then my own armcame to my rescue and my own fury supported me.	5 Io guardai d' attorno, e non vidi uno solo aiutatore; e (addomandai e) cercai, e non era chi aiutasse; e fece[mi] salvo lo mio braccio, e la mia indignazione essa mi aiutò.
6 I crushed the peoples in my anger, I shattered them in my fury and sent their blood streaming to theground.	6 E conculcai li populi nel mio furore, e inebria'li nel mio isdegnamento, e tirai la loro virtude in terra.
7 I shal recount Yahweh's acts of faithful love, Yahweh's praises, in return for all that Yahweh has donefor us, for his great kindness to the House of Israel, for all that he has done in his mercy, for the abundance ofhis acts of faithful love.	7 Io mi ricorderò della misericordia del Signore; la laude del Signore sia sopra tutte le cose le quali egli rendeo a noi, e sopra la moltitudine de' beni della casa d' Israel; e quelli egli donò loro secondo la sua perdonanza, e secondo la moltitudine delle sue misericordie.
8 For he said, 'Truly they are my people, children who will not betray me,' and he became their Saviour.	8 E disse: niente di meno egli è populo mio, figliuoli miei che nol negano; e fu fatto a loro salvatore.
9 In al their troubles, it was no messenger or angel but his presence that saved them. In his love and pityhe himself redeemed them, lifted them up and carried them throughout the days of old.	9 E non fu tribulato in ogni loro tribulazione, (cioè avendone compassione liberava); e l'angelo della sua faccia fece salvi loro; egli ricomperò quelli col suo amore e con la sua perdonanza, e portolli, e levolli in alto per tutti li dì del mondo.
10 But they rebelled and vexed his holy Spirit. Then he became their enemy and himself waged war onthem.	10 Ma loro lo commossono ad ira, e diedono afflizione allo spirito del suo santo (cioè del suo figliuolo); e rivolsesi loro per nemico; egli medesimo combatteo e vinseli.
11 But he cal ed the past to mind, Moses his servant. Where is he who saved them from the sea, theShepherd of his flock? Where was he who put his holy Spirit among them,	11 E ricordossi del tempo di Moisè e del suo populo: dov'è colui che li menò dal mare colli pastori della sua gregge? dov'è colui che puose nel mezzo di lui lo spirito del suo santo?
12 whose glorious arm led the way by Moses' right hand? Who divided the waters before them to winhimself everlasting renown,	12 Lo quale condusse nella mano diritta Moisè col braccio della sua maestade; lo quale fendè l'acque innanzi a loro, per fare a sè nome sempiterno?
13 who led them through the depths as easily as a horse through the desert? They stumbled as little	13 Il quale menò loro per li profundi, quasi come uno cavallo nel deserto che non cespitava?
14 as cattle going down to the plain. Yahweh's Spirit led them to rest. This was how you guided yourpeople to win yourself glorious renown.	14 E come animale che scende nel campo, lo spirito di Dio fu la sua guida; così adducesti lo tuo populo per fare a te nome di gloria.
15 Look down from heaven and see from your holy and glorious dwel ing. Where is your zeal and yourmight? Are your deepest feelings, your mercy to me, to be restrained?	15 Attendi (cioè riguarda) del cielo, e mira del tuo santo tabernacolo, e della sedia della tua gloria: dov'è lo tuo zelo (cioè lo tuo ardente amore), e dov'è la tua fortezza, la moltitudine delle tue interiora (cioè de' tuoi secreti) e delle tue misericordie? Sempre istettono sopra me con teco.
16 After all, you are our Father. If Abraham will not own us, if Israel wil not acknowledge us, you,Yahweh, are our Father, 'Our Redeemer' is your name from of old.	16 Tu se' lo padre nostro, e Abraam non ci seppe, e Israel non ci conobbe; e tu, Signore, sei nostro padre, e nostro ricompratore; e lo tuo nome istà e starà sempre.
17 Why, Yahweh, do you let us wander from your ways and let our hearts grow too hard to fear you?Return, for the sake of your servants, the tribes of your heritage.	17 Perchè ci facesti errare delle tue vie, indurasti lo nostro cuore acciò che noi non temessimo te? Convèrtiti a misericordia per li tuoi servi, (e siamo) schiatta della tua ereditade.
18 Your holy people have owned it for so short a time, our enemies have trampled on your sanctuary.	18 Egli possederono lo tuo santo popolo quasi come niente; li nostri nimici conculcarono la tua (santa misericordia e la tua) santificazione.
19 We have long been like those you do not rule, people who do not bear your name. Oh, that you wouldtear the heavens open and come down -- in your presence the mountains would quake,	19 E fummo fatti quasi come al principio, conciosia cosa che tu non signoreggiassi noi, e lo tuo nome non si chiamava sopra noi.
