Isaiah 63

NEW JERUSALEM	LA SACRA BIBBIA
1 Who is this coming from Edom, from Bozrah in crimson garments, so magnificently dressed, marchingso ful of strength? - It is I, whose word is saving justice, whose power is to save.	1 Chi è costui che arriva da Edom, da Bozra, con gli abiti di vivo colore? Magnifico nella sua veste, che procede pieno di forza? "Sono io che parlo con giustizia e sono grande nel salvare".
2 -Why are your garments red, your clothes like someone treading the winepress?	2 Perché sono rosse le tue vesti e i tuoi abiti come quelli di chi pigia nel tino?
3 -I have trodden the winepress alone; of my people, not one was with me. So I trod them down in myanger, I trampled on them in my wrath. Their blood squirted over my garments and al my clothes are stained.	3 "La vasca l'ho pigiata da solo e dei popoli nessuno è stato con me. Li ho pigiati nella mia ira e li ho calpestati nel mio sdegno. Il loro sangue spruzzò le mie vesti e macchiai tutti i miei abiti.
4 For I have decided on a day of vengeance, my year of retribution has come.	4 Poiché nel mio cuore vi è un giorno di vendetta ed è giunto l'anno della mia redenzione.
5 I looked: there was no one to help me; I was appal ed but could find no supporter! Then my own armcame to my rescue and my own fury supported me.	5 Guardai, e non v'era chi soccorresse! Osservai stupito: non v'era chi mi sostenesse! Allora il mio braccio mi salvò e la mia ira mi sostenne.
6 I crushed the peoples in my anger, I shattered them in my fury and sent their blood streaming to theground.	6 Col mio sdegno calpestai i popoli, li annientai con la mia ira e feci scorrere per terra il loro sangue".
7 I shal recount Yahweh's acts of faithful love, Yahweh's praises, in return for all that Yahweh has donefor us, for his great kindness to the House of Israel, for all that he has done in his mercy, for the abundance ofhis acts of faithful love.	7 Celebrerò i favori del Signore, le lodi del Signore per tutto quello che egli ha fatto per noi. Egli è grande in bontà verso la casa d'Israele; ci ha favorito secondo la sua misericordia e secondo la grandezza delle sue grazie.
8 For he said, 'Truly they are my people, children who will not betray me,' and he became their Saviour.	8 Disse: "Veramente essi sono il mio popolo, figli che non deludono". E fu per loro un Salvatore
9 In al their troubles, it was no messenger or angel but his presence that saved them. In his love and pityhe himself redeemed them, lifted them up and carried them throughout the days of old.	9 in tutte le loro tribolazioni. Non fu né un inviato né un angelo, ma la sua faccia che li salvò. Nel suo amore e nella sua clemenza egli li riscattò; li sollevò e li portò in tutti i giorni del passato.
10 But they rebelled and vexed his holy Spirit. Then he became their enemy and himself waged war onthem.	10 Ma essi si ribellarono e afflissero il suo santo spirito; perciò egli si trasformò in nemico per essi; egli stesso li combatté.
11 But he cal ed the past to mind, Moses his servant. Where is he who saved them from the sea, theShepherd of his flock? Where was he who put his holy Spirit among them,	11 Allora si ricordarono dei giorni passati, di Mosè suo servitore. Dov'è colui che trasse dal mare il pastore del suo gregge? Dov'è colui che pose dentro di lui il suo santo spirito?
12 whose glorious arm led the way by Moses' right hand? Who divided the waters before them to winhimself everlasting renown,	12 Colui che fece camminare alla destra di Mosè il suo braccio glorioso; che divise le acque al loro cospetto, per farsi un nome eterno;
13 who led them through the depths as easily as a horse through the desert? They stumbled as little	13 che li condusse tra gli abissi come un cavallo nel deserto, senza che inciampassero?
14 as cattle going down to the plain. Yahweh's Spirit led them to rest. This was how you guided yourpeople to win yourself glorious renown.	14 Come armento che scende nella valle, lo spirito del Signore li guidava. Così tu conducesti il tuo popolo, per farti un nome glorioso.
15 Look down from heaven and see from your holy and glorious dwel ing. Where is your zeal and yourmight? Are your deepest feelings, your mercy to me, to be restrained?	15 Guarda dal cielo e vedi dalla tua santa e splendida dimora! Dov'è il tuo zelo e la tua potenza? Il fremito delle tue viscere e della tua misericordia verso di me è stato represso?
16 After all, you are our Father. If Abraham will not own us, if Israel wil not acknowledge us, you,Yahweh, are our Father, 'Our Redeemer' is your name from of old.	16 Poiché tu sei il nostro padre! Abramo non ci riconosce e Israele non si ricorda di noi. Tu, Signore, sei il nostro padre; da sempre ti chiami nostro redentore.
17 Why, Yahweh, do you let us wander from your ways and let our hearts grow too hard to fear you?Return, for the sake of your servants, the tribes of your heritage.	17 Perché ci fai errare, Signore, fuori delle tue vie, indurisci il nostro cuore, che così non ti teme? Ritorna, per l'amore dei tuoi servi, per amore delle tribù, tua eredità!
18 Your holy people have owned it for so short a time, our enemies have trampled on your sanctuary.	18 Perché gli empi calpestarono il tuo santuario, e i nostri avversari profanarono la tua santa dimora?
19 We have long been like those you do not rule, people who do not bear your name. Oh, that you wouldtear the heavens open and come down -- in your presence the mountains would quake,	19 Siamo diventati da lungo tempo quelli sui quali tu non comandi, sui quali il tuo nome non è stato invocato.
