Isaiah 58

NEW JERUSALEM	LA SACRA BIBBIA
1 Shout for all you are worth, do not hold back, raise your voice like a trumpet. To my people proclaimtheir rebel ious acts, to the House of Jacob, their sins.	1 Proclama a squarciagola, non risparmiarti! Alza la tua voce come una tromba e annuncia al mio popolo i suoi difetti, alla casa di Giacobbe i loro peccati.
2 They seek for me day after day, they long to know my ways, like a nation that has acted uprightly andnot forsaken the law of its God. They ask me for laws that are upright, they long to be near God:	2 Mi ricercano ogni giorno e desiderano conoscere le mie vie, come una nazione che pratichi la giustizia e non abbandoni il diritto del suo Dio; mi chiedono dei giudizi giusti, desiderano la vicinanza di Dio.
3 'Why have we fasted, if you do not see, why mortify ourselves if you never notice?' Look, you seek yourown pleasure on your fastdays and you exploit al your workmen;	3 "Perché digiuniamo e tu non lo vedi? Ci mortifichiamo e tu non lo sai?". Ecco, nei giorni di digiuno voi curate gli affari e opprimete tutti i vostri operai.
4 look, the only purpose of your fasting is to quarrel and squabble and strike viciously with your fist.Fasting like yours today wil never make your voice heard on high.	4 Ecco, voi digiunate fra dispute e alterchi e iniqui colpi di pugno. Non sono i digiuni come quelli di oggi che fanno sentire in alto la vostra voce.
5 Is that the sort of fast that pleases me, a day when a person inflicts pain on himself? Hanging yourhead like a reed, spreading out sackcloth and ashes? Is that what you cal fasting, a day acceptable to Yahweh?	5 E' forse questo il digiuno che preferisco, il giorno in cui l'uomo si affligge? Piegare il capo come un giunco e distendersi su un letto di sacco e di cenere? Chiami questo forse digiuno e giorno gradito al Signore?
6 Is not this the sort of fast that pleases me: to break unjust fetters, to undo the thongs of the yoke. to letthe oppressed go free, and to break al yokes?	6 Non è piuttosto questo il digiuno che preferisco: spezzare le catene inique, sciogliere i legami del giogo, rimandare liberi gli oppressi e rompere ogni giogo?
7 Is it not sharing your food with the hungry, and sheltering the homeless poor; if you see someonelacking clothes, to clothe him, and not to turn away from your own kin?	7 Non forse questo: spezzare il pane all'affamato, introdurre in casa i poveri senza tetto, coprire colui che hai visto nudo, senza trascurare quelli della tua carne?
8 Then your light wil blaze out like the dawn and your wound be quickly healed over. Saving justice wilgo ahead of you and Yahweh's glory come behind you.	8 Allora la tua luce spunterà come l'aurora e la tua ferita sarà presto cicatrizzata; la tua giustizia marcerà dinanzi a te e la gloria del Signore ti seguirà.
9 Then you will cry for help and Yahweh wil answer; you will cal and he will say, 'I am here.' If you doaway with the yoke, the clenched fist and malicious words,	9 Allora, se chiami, il Signore ti risponderà; se implori, egli dirà: "Eccomi". Se rimuoverai di mezzo a te il giogo, il puntare il dito e il parlare iniquo,
10 if you deprive yourself for the hungry and satisfy the needs of the afflicted, your light wil rise in thedarkness, and your darkest hour wil be like noon.	10 se tu darai il tuo pane all'affamato, se sazierai l'anima oppressa, allora la tua luce sorgerà tra le tenebre, la tua oscurità sarà come meriggio.
11 Yahweh will always guide you, wil satisfy your needs in the scorched land; he wil give strength toyour bones and you wil be like a watered garden, like a flowing spring whose waters never run dry.	11 Il Signore ti farà sempre da guida, ti sazierà nei terreni aridi, renderà vigore alle tue ossa; sarai come un giardino irrigato e come una sorgente d'acqua, le cui acque non vengono meno.
12 Your ancient ruins wil be rebuilt; you will build on age -- old foundations. You wil be cal ed 'Breach-mender', 'Restorer of streets to be lived in'.	12 I tuoi riedificheranno le antiche rovine, tu ricostruirai le fondamenta delle epoche lontane. Ti chiameranno riparatore di brecce, restauratore di rovine per abitarvi.
13 If you refrain from breaking the Sabbath, from taking your own pleasure on my holy day, if you cal the Sabbath 'Delightful', and the day sacred to Yahweh 'Honourable', if you honour it by abstaining from travel, fromseeking your own pleasure and from too much talk,	13 Se tu di sabato tratterrai il tuo piede dal fare i tuoi affari nel giorno a me sacro, se chiamerai il sabato: Delizia, e il giorno santo del Signore: Venerabile, e lo onorerai astenendoti dai viaggi, dal trattare i tuoi affari e dal tenere discorsi,
14 then you wil find true happiness in Yahweh, and I shal lead you in triumph over the heights of theland. I shall feed you on the heritage of your father Jacob, for the mouth of Yahweh has spoken.	14 allora troverai la tua delizia nel Signore, e io ti farò passare per le alture del paese; ti nutrirò dell'eredità di Giacobbe, tuo padre, poiché la bocca del Signore ha parlato.
