Isaiah 58

1 Shout for all you are worth, do not hold back, raise your voice like a trumpet. To my people proclaimtheir rebel ious acts, to the House of Jacob, their sins.	1 Grida, non darti posa; alza la tua voce come una tromba, e annunzia al popol mio le sue scelleratezze, e alla casa di Giacobbe i suoi peccati;
2 They seek for me day after day, they long to know my ways, like a nation that has acted uprightly andnot forsaken the law of its God. They ask me for laws that are upright, they long to be near God:	2 Perocché ogni giorno m'interrogano, e voglion saper i miei consigli: come gente, che abbia esercitata la giustizia, e non abbia abbandonata la legge del suo Dio, mi domandan ragione dei giudizj di (mia) giustizia: voglion essere vicini a Dio.
3 'Why have we fasted, if you do not see, why mortify ourselves if you never notice?' Look, you seek yourown pleasure on your fastdays and you exploit al your workmen;	3 Perchè abbiam noi digiunato, e tu non ne hai fatto conto? abbiamo umiliato le anime nostre, ed hai fatto vista di non saperlo? Ecco, che nel dì del vostro digiuno la volontà vostra si soddisfa, e voi stringete tutti i vostri debitori.
4 look, the only purpose of your fasting is to quarrel and squabble and strike viciously with your fist.Fasting like yours today wil never make your voice heard on high.	4 Ecco che voi digiunate per litigare, e quistionare, e percuotete altrui co' pugni empiamente. Non digiunate come avete fatto fino a questo dì per e far sentire nell'alto i vostri clamori.
5 Is that the sort of fast that pleases me, a day when a person inflicts pain on himself? Hanging yourhead like a reed, spreading out sackcloth and ashes? Is that what you cal fasting, a day acceptable to Yahweh?	5 Il digiuno, che io amo, sta egli in questo, che l'uomo affligga per giorno l'anima sua? ovver ch'ei della sua testa incurvata ne faccia quasi un cerchio, e si getti addosso il sacco, e la cenere? Questo forse chiamerai tu digiuno, e giorno accetto al Signore?
6 Is not this the sort of fast that pleases me: to break unjust fetters, to undo the thongs of the yoke. to letthe oppressed go free, and to break al yokes?	6 Non è egli questo piuttosto il digiuno, che io amo? sciogli i vincoli dell'empietà; sciogli le obbligazioni, che opprimono: metti in libertà i mal condotti, e rompi ogni gravame.
7 Is it not sharing your food with the hungry, and sheltering the homeless poor; if you see someonelacking clothes, to clothe him, and not to turn away from your own kin?	7 Spezza all'affamato il tuo pane, e i poveri, e i raminghi menati a tua casa: se vedi uno ignudo, rivestilo, e non ispregiare la tua propria carne.
8 Then your light wil blaze out like the dawn and your wound be quickly healed over. Saving justice wilgo ahead of you and Yahweh's glory come behind you.	8 Allora come di dell'aurora spunterà la tua luce, e presto verrà la tua guarigione, e la tua giustizia anderà innanzi a te, e la gloria del Signore ti accoglierà.
9 Then you will cry for help and Yahweh wil answer; you will cal and he will say, 'I am here.' If you doaway with the yoke, the clenched fist and malicious words,	9 Allora tu invocherai il Signore, ed egli ti esaudirà: alzerai la tua voce, ed ei dirà: Eccomi a te. Se torrai di mezzo a te la catena, e cesserai di stendere il dito, e di parlare come non si conviene.
10 if you deprive yourself for the hungry and satisfy the needs of the afflicted, your light wil rise in thedarkness, and your darkest hour wil be like noon.	10 Quando tu aprirai le tue viscere all'affamato, e consolerai l'anima afflitta, nascerà nelle tenebre a te la luce, e le tue tenebre si cangeranno in un mezzodì.
11 Yahweh will always guide you, wil satisfy your needs in the scorched land; he wil give strength toyour bones and you wil be like a watered garden, like a flowing spring whose waters never run dry.	11 E il Signore darà a te sempre riposo, e l'anima tua empierà di splendori, e conforterà le tue ossa: e tu sarai come un giardino innaffiato, e come fontana, cui non mancano acque giammai.
12 Your ancient ruins wil be rebuilt; you will build on age -- old foundations. You wil be cal ed 'Breach-mender', 'Restorer of streets to be lived in'.	12 E saran da te ristorati i luoghi ab antico deserti, alzerai de' fondamenti per generazioni, e generazioni: e ti sarà dato il nome di ristoratore delle mura d'uom, che rende sicure le strade.
13 If you refrain from breaking the Sabbath, from taking your own pleasure on my holy day, if you cal the Sabbath 'Delightful', and the day sacred to Yahweh 'Honourable', if you honour it by abstaining from travel, fromseeking your own pleasure and from too much talk,	13 Se conterrai il tuo piede nel sabato, e non farai la tua volontà nel santo mio giorno, e se tu il sabato chiamerai giorno delizioso, e santo, glorioso del Signore, e lui glorificherai col non fare quel, che solevi, e col non soddisfare la tua volontà co' tuoi cicalecci;
14 then you wil find true happiness in Yahweh, and I shal lead you in triumph over the heights of theland. I shall feed you on the heritage of your father Jacob, for the mouth of Yahweh has spoken.	14 Allora la dilettazione tua avrai nel Signore, ed io t'innalzerò sopra ogni elevazion della terra, e per tuo nutrimento darotti l'eredità di Giacobbe tuo padre: imperocché il Signore di sua bocca ha parlato.
