Isaiah 46

1 Bel is crouching, Nebo cowering, their idols are being put on animals, on beasts of burden, the loadsyou have been carrying are a burden to a weary beast.	1 Bel è in pezzi, Nabo è ridotto in polvere: i lor simolacri sono stati dati a portare alle bestie, ed ai giumenti, quelli, che portati da voi vi stancavano col grave peso.
2 They are cowering and crouching together, no one can save this burden, they themselves have goneinto captivity.	2 Sono iti per terra, e sono stati spezzati: ei non han potuto salvare chi li portava, ed essi stessi anderanno in ischiavitù.
3 Listen to me, House of Jacob, al who remain of the House of Israel, whom I have carried since thewomb, whom I have supported since you were conceived.	3 Udite me, casa di Giacobbe, e voi reliquie tutte della casa d'Israele, ch'io tengo nel mio seno, e porto nelle mie viscere.
4 Until your old age I shal be the same, until your hair is grey I shall carry you. As I have done, so I shalsupport you, I myself shall carry and shall save you.	4 Sino alla vecchiezza, ed alla canuta età io stesso vi porterò: io vi feci, ed io vi porterò: io vi, porterò, e vi salverò.
5 With whom can you compare me, equate me, to whom can you liken me, making equals of us?	5 A qual cosa mi avete voi rassomigliato, e agguagliato, e paragonato, e fatto me somigliante?
6 They lavish gold from their purses and weigh out silver on the scales. They engage a goldsmith tomake a god, then bow low and actually adore!	6 Voi, che dalla borsa cavate l'oro, e sulla stadera pesate l'argento: e prezzolate un orefice, che faccia un Dio, cui la gente s'incurva, e l'adora.
7 They lift it on their shoulders and carry it, and put it down where it is meant to stand, so that it nevermoves from the spot. You may cry out to it in distress, it never replies, it never saves anyone in trouble.	7 E lo porta sopra i suoi omeri, e lo posa al suo luogo, e quello vi sta; nè dal suo posto si muove: ma quando ancora alzeranno a lui le strida, ei non udirà, nè dalla tribolazione li salverà.
8 Remember this and stand firm; rebels, look into your hearts.	8 Ricordivi di questo, e confondetevi: rientrate prevaricatori nel vostro cuore.
9 Remember the things that happened long ago, for I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and thereis none like me.	9 Ricordivi de' secoli precedenti; perocché io son Dio e non v'è Dio alcuno fuora di me, ne chi sia simile a me:
10 From the beginning I revealed the future, in advance, what has not yet occurred. I say: My purposewil come about, I shal do whatever I please;	10 Io che fino da principio annunzio le ultime cose, e anzi tempo quelle, che non son ancora avvenute: io che parlo, e fermi stanno i miei disegni, e tutti i miei voleri sarann' adempiuti:
11 I cal a bird of prey from the east, my man predestined, from a distant land. What I have said, I shaldo, what I have planned, I shal perform.	11 Io che dall'oriente chiamo un augello, e da rimota terra un uomo, che fa la mia volontà; io ho detto questo, e lo adempirò; lo ho disegnato, e lo ridurrò ad effetto.
12 Listen to me, you hard-hearted people far removed from saving justice:	12 Udite me, voi gente di duro cuore, che siete lontani dalla giustizia.
13 I am bringing my justice nearer, it is not far away, my salvation wil not delay. I shal place mysalvation in Zion and my glory in Israel.	13 Io accelero la venuta di mia giustizia; ella non differirà, e non tarderà la salute, che viene da me. Io porrò la salute in Sionne, e la gloria mia in Israele.
