Isaiah 39

NEW JERUSALEM	BIBBIA TINTORI
1 At that time, the king of Babylon, Merodach-Baladan son of Baladan, sent letters and a gift to Hezekiah,for he had heard of his illness and his recovery.	1 In quel tempo Merodac-Baladan, figlio di Baladan re di Babilonia, mandò lettere e doni ad Ezechia, avendo sentito dire che era stato malato ed era guarito.
2 Hezekiah was delighted at this and showed the ambassadors his entire treasury, the silver, gold,spices, precious oil, his armoury too, and everything to be seen in his storehouses. There was nothing in hispalace or in his whole domain that Hezekiah did not show them.	2 Ezechia fece festa alla loro venuta, e fece loro vedere le stanze degli aromi, dell'argento, dell'oro, dei profumi, degli unguenti preziosi, delle sue suppellettili, e tutto ciò che si trovava nei suoi tesori. Non vi fu oggetto, nella sua casa e nei suoi possessi, che Ezechia non facesse loro vedere.
3 The prophet Isaiah then came to King Hezekiah and asked him, 'What have these men said, and wherehave they come to you from?' Hezekiah answered, 'They have come from a distant country, from Babylon.'	3 Ma il profeta Isaia andò a trovare il re Ezechia, e gli disse: « Che han detto questi uomini? E da che parte son venuti a te? » Ezechia rispose: « Son venuti a me da lontano paese, da Babilonia ».
4 Isaiah said, 'What have they seen in your palace?' 'They have seen everything in my palace,' Hezekiahanswered. 'There is nothing in my storehouses that I have not shown them.'	4 E (Isaia) disse: « Che han veduto nella tua casa? » Rispose Ezechia: « Han veduto tutto quello che si trova in casa mia: non v'è nulla nei miei tesori che io non abbia loro mostrato ».
5 Then Isaiah said to Hezekiah, 'Listen to the word of Yahweh Sabaoth,	5 Disse allora Isaia ad Ezechia: « Ascolta la parola del Signore degli eserciti:
6 "The days are coming when everything in your palace, everything that your ancestors have amasseduntil now, wil be carried off to Babylon. Not a thing wil be left," Yahweh says.	6 Ecco verrà il tempo in cui tutte le cose che sono in casa tua e che i tuoi padri hanno accumulate fino a questo giorno, saran portate via a Babilonia: non ci resterà nulla — dice il Signore. —
7 "Sons sprung from you, sons begotten by you, will be abducted to be eunuchs in the palace of the kingof Babylon." '	7 Ed anche dei tuoi figli prenderanno, quelli che nasceranno da te, che tu genererai, ed essi saranno eunuchi nel palazzo di Babilonia ».
8 Hezekiah said to Isaiah, 'This word of Yahweh that you announce is reassuring,' for he was thinking,'There is going to be peace and security during my lifetime.'	8 Ezechia disse ad Isaia: « La parola proferita dal Signore è giusta ». E aggiunse: « Almeno ci sia pace e verità durante la mia vita ».
