Isaiah 39

NEW JERUSALEM	LA SACRA BIBBIA
1 At that time, the king of Babylon, Merodach-Baladan son of Baladan, sent letters and a gift to Hezekiah,for he had heard of his illness and his recovery.	1 In quel tempo Merodach-Bàladan, figlio di Bàladan, re di Babilonia, inviò lettere e doni a Ezechia, perché aveva udito che Ezechia era caduto ammalato.
2 Hezekiah was delighted at this and showed the ambassadors his entire treasury, the silver, gold,spices, precious oil, his armoury too, and everything to be seen in his storehouses. There was nothing in hispalace or in his whole domain that Hezekiah did not show them.	2 Ezechia se ne rallegrò e mostrò agl'inviati la camera del tesoro, l'argento, l'oro, i profumi, l'olio pregiato, tutto il suo arsenale e tutto ciò che si trovava nei suoi tesori. Non vi fu nulla che Ezechia non abbia mostrato loro nel suo palazzo e in tutto il suo regno.
3 The prophet Isaiah then came to King Hezekiah and asked him, 'What have these men said, and wherehave they come to you from?' Hezekiah answered, 'They have come from a distant country, from Babylon.'	3 Il profeta Isaia si recò dal re Ezechia e gli domandò: "Che cosa hanno detto quegli uomini e donde sono venuti a te?". Rispose Ezechia: "Sono venuti a me da una terra lontana, da Babilonia".
4 Isaiah said, 'What have they seen in your palace?' 'They have seen everything in my palace,' Hezekiahanswered. 'There is nothing in my storehouses that I have not shown them.'	4 Quegli domandò ancora: "Che cosa hanno visto nel tuo palazzo?". Soggiunse Ezechia: "Hanno visto tutto ciò che si trova nel mio palazzo. Non c'è nulla che non abbia loro mostrato nei miei tesori".
5 Then Isaiah said to Hezekiah, 'Listen to the word of Yahweh Sabaoth,	5 Rispose Isaia ad Ezechia: "Ascolta la parola del Signore degli eserciti:
6 "The days are coming when everything in your palace, everything that your ancestors have amasseduntil now, wil be carried off to Babylon. Not a thing wil be left," Yahweh says.	6 Ecco, verranno dei giorni in cui verrà asportato a Babilonia tutto ciò che si trova nel tuo palazzo e i tesori che i tuoi antenati hanno accumulato fino ad oggi. Nulla vi resterà, dice il Signore.
7 "Sons sprung from you, sons begotten by you, will be abducted to be eunuchs in the palace of the kingof Babylon." '	7 E dei figli che usciranno dalle tue viscere e hai generato, alcuni saranno presi e diventeranno eunuchi nel tempio del re di Babilonia".
8 Hezekiah said to Isaiah, 'This word of Yahweh that you announce is reassuring,' for he was thinking,'There is going to be peace and security during my lifetime.'	8 Rispose Ezechia a Isaia: "Buona è la parola del Signore che hai proferito". Egli pensava: "Vi sarà pace e sicurezza almeno nei miei giorni".
