Isaiah 39

NEW JERUSALEM	JERUSALEM
1 At that time, the king of Babylon, Merodach-Baladan son of Baladan, sent letters and a gift to Hezekiah,for he had heard of his illness and his recovery.	1 En ce temps-là, Mérodak-Baladan, fils de Baladan, roi de Babylone, envoya des lettres et un présent àEzéchias, car il avait appris sa maladie et son rétablissement.
2 Hezekiah was delighted at this and showed the ambassadors his entire treasury, the silver, gold,spices, precious oil, his armoury too, and everything to be seen in his storehouses. There was nothing in hispalace or in his whole domain that Hezekiah did not show them.	2 Ezéchias s'en réjouit et il montra aux messagers sa chambre du trésor, l'argent, l'or, les aromates,l'huile précieuse ainsi que son arsenal et tout ce qui se trouvait dans ses magasins. Il n'y eut rien qu'Ezéchias neleur montrât dans son palais et dans tout son domaine.
3 The prophet Isaiah then came to King Hezekiah and asked him, 'What have these men said, and wherehave they come to you from?' Hezekiah answered, 'They have come from a distant country, from Babylon.'	3 Alors le prophète Isaïe vint trouver le roi Ezéchias et lui demanda: "Qu'ont dit ces gens-là, et d'oùsont-ils venus chez toi?" Ezéchias répondit: "Ils sont venus d'un pays lointain, de Babylone."
4 Isaiah said, 'What have they seen in your palace?' 'They have seen everything in my palace,' Hezekiahanswered. 'There is nothing in my storehouses that I have not shown them.'	4 Isaïe reprit: "Qu'ont-ils vu dans ton palais?" Ezéchias répondit: "Ils ont vu tout ce qu'il y a dans monpalais: il n'y a dans mes magasins rien que je ne leur aie montré."
5 Then Isaiah said to Hezekiah, 'Listen to the word of Yahweh Sabaoth,	5 Alors Isaïe dit à Ezéchias: "Ecoute la parole de Yahvé Sabaot!
6 "The days are coming when everything in your palace, everything that your ancestors have amasseduntil now, wil be carried off to Babylon. Not a thing wil be left," Yahweh says.	6 Des jours viennent où tout ce qui est dans ton palais, tout ce qu'ont amassé tes pères jusqu'à ce jour,sera emporté à Babylone. Rien ne sera laissé, dit Yahvé.
7 "Sons sprung from you, sons begotten by you, will be abducted to be eunuchs in the palace of the kingof Babylon." '	7 Parmi les fils issus de toi, ceux que tu as engendrés, on en prendra pour être eunuques dans le palaisdu roi de Babylone."
8 Hezekiah said to Isaiah, 'This word of Yahweh that you announce is reassuring,' for he was thinking,'There is going to be peace and security during my lifetime.'	8 Ezéchias dit à Isaïe: "C'est une parole favorable de Yahvé que tu annonces." Il pensait en effet: "Il yaura paix et sûreté ma vie durant."
