Isaiah 25

NEW JERUSALEM	BIBBIA RICCIOTTI
1 Yahweh, you are my God, I shall praise you to the heights, I shal praise your name; for you haveaccomplished marvels, plans long-conceived, faithful y, firmly.	1 - Signore, tu sei il mio Dio, io t'esalterò e celebrerò il tuo nome, perchè hai operato cose mirabili, gli antichi pensieri fedeli. Amen.
2 For you have made the town a heap of stones, the fortified city a ruin. The foreigners' citadel is a cityno longer, it wil never be rebuilt.	2 Perchè hai ridotto la città in un cumulo, la città forte in una maceria, soggiorno di stranieri, sì da non essere più città, nè mai più sarà riedificata in eterno.
3 Hence mighty peoples wil honour you, the city of pitiless nations hold you in awe;	3 Per questo il popolo forte ti loderà, la città delle genti robuste ti temerà.
4 For you have been a refuge for the weak, a refuge for the needy in distress, a shelter from the storm,shade from the heat; for the breath of the pitiless is like a winter storm.	4 Perchè ti sei fatto sostegno del povero, sostegno del misero nella sua tribolazione, speranza contro la procella, ombreggio contro l'ardore; perchè lo spirito dei prepotentiè come una procella che abbatte le muraglie.
5 Like heat in a dry land you calm the foreigners' tumult; as heat under the shadow of a cloud, so thesong of the pitiless dies away.	5 Come [abbatte] l'arsura nella sete, abbatterai l'arroganza degli stranierie come fa il caldo sotto infocate nuvole, farai seccare la propaggine dei prepotenti.
6 On this mountain, for al peoples, Yahweh Sabaoth is preparing a banquet of rich food, a banquet offine wines, of succulent food, of well-strained wines.	6 E il Signore degli eserciti farà a tutti i popoli su questo monte un convito di grasse vivande, un convito di vini prelibati, di adipe midolloso, di vino disfecciato.
7 On this mountain, he has destroyed the veil which used to veil al peoples, the pal enveloping alnations;	7 E su questo monte squarcerà l'involucro della benda ond'hanno gli occhi avvolti tutti i popoli, e il velame ordito sopra tutte le nazioni.
8 he has destroyed death for ever. Lord Yahweh has wiped away the tears from every cheek; he hastaken his people's shame away everywhere on earth, for Yahweh has spoken.	8 E distruggerà la morte per sempre; e il Signore Dio astergerà da tutti i volti le lacrime, e toglierà via l'obbrobrio del suo popolo da tutta la terra, perchè il Signore ha parlato.
9 And on that day, it wil be said, 'Look, this is our God, in him we put our hope that he should save us,this is Yahweh, we put our hope in him. Let us exult and rejoice since he has saved us.'	9 E in quel giorno dirà: «Ecco questi è l'Iddio nostro; l'abbiamo aspettato e ci salverà; questi è il Signore, l'abbiamo aspettato, esulteremo e ci rallegreremo nella sua salvezza.
10 For Yahweh's hand will rest on this mountain, and Moab wil be trodden under his feet as straw istrodden into the dung-heap.	10 Perchè la mano del Signore si poserà su questo monte, e Moab sarà stritolato sotto di lui, come è stritolata la paglia sotto il tribbio.
11 He may stretch his hands wide on the mountain like a swimmer stretching out his hands to swim. Buthe wil humble his pride despite what his hands may attempt.	11 Ed egli stenderà le mani sotto di sè, come le stende uno per nuotare; e il Signore umilierà la sua gloria, coll'infrangergli le braccia.
12 And the impregnable fortress of your walls, he has overthrown, laid low, flung to the ground, in thedust.	12 E le difese delle tue eccelse mura cadranno; e saranno abbattute e gettate al suolo nella polvere».
