Isaiah 25

1 Yahweh, you are my God, I shall praise you to the heights, I shal praise your name; for you haveaccomplished marvels, plans long-conceived, faithful y, firmly.	1 Signore, tu se il mio Dio; te io esalterò, benedirò il nome tuo, perchè hai eseguite cose ammirande, consigli antichi fedeli: cosi è.
2 For you have made the town a heap of stones, the fortified city a ruin. The foreigners' citadel is a cityno longer, it wil never be rebuilt.	2 Perchè in un sepolcro hai ridotta la città, la città potente, la casa d'uomini stranieri in una massa di rottami, onde non sia più città, e non sia rifabbricata in sempiterno.
3 Hence mighty peoples wil honour you, the city of pitiless nations hold you in awe;	3 Per questo darà lode a te il popol forte, la città di genti robuste ti temerà.
4 For you have been a refuge for the weak, a refuge for the needy in distress, a shelter from the storm,shade from the heat; for the breath of the pitiless is like a winter storm.	4 Perchè tu sei stato fortezza al povero, fortezza al mendico nella sua tribolazione: speranza nella procella, suo riparo dall'ardore del giorno; perocché l'impeto dei potenti è qual turbine, che fa traballare una muraglia.
5 Like heat in a dry land you calm the foreigners' tumult; as heat under the shadow of a cloud, so thesong of the pitiless dies away.	5 Abbatterai tu l'arroganza degli stranieri, come il violento ardore (abbatte) nella sete; e quasi con vampa di nube ardente farai seccare la propagine di questi potenti.
6 On this mountain, for al peoples, Yahweh Sabaoth is preparing a banquet of rich food, a banquet offine wines, of succulent food, of well-strained wines.	6 E il Signore degli eserciti farà a tutti i popoli in questo monte un convito di grasse carni, un convito di vendemmia, di carni grasse midollose, di vino senza feccia.
7 On this mountain, he has destroyed the veil which used to veil al peoples, the pal enveloping alnations;	7 Ed ei troncherà le funi, che stringevano tutti quanti i popoli, e la tela ordita contro tutte le nazioni.
8 he has destroyed death for ever. Lord Yahweh has wiped away the tears from every cheek; he hastaken his people's shame away everywhere on earth, for Yahweh has spoken.	8 Ei precipiterà la morte per sempre, e il Signore Dio asciugherà da tutti gli occhi le lagrime, e l'obbrobrio del popol suo torrà da tutta quanta la terra: perocché il Signore ha parlato.
9 And on that day, it wil be said, 'Look, this is our God, in him we put our hope that he should save us,this is Yahweh, we put our hope in him. Let us exult and rejoice since he has saved us.'	9 Ed egli dira in quel giorno: Ecco, questi è il nostro Dio; lo abbiamo aspettato, ed ei ci salverà: abbiam pazientato, ed esulteremo, e goderemo della salute, che vien da lui.
10 For Yahweh's hand will rest on this mountain, and Moab wil be trodden under his feet as straw istrodden into the dung-heap.	10 Imperocché la mano del Signore poserà sopra di questo monte: e sotto di lui sarà stritolato Moab, come è tritata la paglia sotto d'un carro.
11 He may stretch his hands wide on the mountain like a swimmer stretching out his hands to swim. Buthe wil humble his pride despite what his hands may attempt.	11 E stenderà le sue braccia sotto di lui, come uno le stende per nuotare. Ma il Signore umilierà il fasto di lui coll'infrangere le sue braccia.
12 And the impregnable fortress of your walls, he has overthrown, laid low, flung to the ground, in thedust.	12 E le difese delle tue alte mura caderanno, e saranno abbattute, e gettate a terra, e ridotte in polvere.
