Isaiah 25

NEW JERUSALEM	MODERN HEBREW BIBLE
1 Yahweh, you are my God, I shall praise you to the heights, I shal praise your name; for you haveaccomplished marvels, plans long-conceived, faithful y, firmly.	1 יהוה אלהי אתה ארוממך אודה שמך כי עשית פלא עצות מרחוק אמונה אמן
2 For you have made the town a heap of stones, the fortified city a ruin. The foreigners' citadel is a cityno longer, it wil never be rebuilt.	2 כי שמת מעיר לגל קריה בצורה למפלה ארמון זרים מעיר לעולם לא יבנה
3 Hence mighty peoples wil honour you, the city of pitiless nations hold you in awe;	3 על כן יכבדוך עם עז קרית גוים עריצים ייראוך
4 For you have been a refuge for the weak, a refuge for the needy in distress, a shelter from the storm,shade from the heat; for the breath of the pitiless is like a winter storm.	4 כי היית מעוז לדל מעוז לאביון בצר לו מחסה מזרם צל מחרב כי רוח עריצים כזרם קיר
5 Like heat in a dry land you calm the foreigners' tumult; as heat under the shadow of a cloud, so thesong of the pitiless dies away.	5 כחרב בציון שאון זרים תכניע חרב בצל עב זמיר עריצים יענה
6 On this mountain, for al peoples, Yahweh Sabaoth is preparing a banquet of rich food, a banquet offine wines, of succulent food, of well-strained wines.	6 ועשה יהוה צבאות לכל העמים בהר הזה משתה שמנים משתה שמרים שמנים ממחים שמרים מזקקים
7 On this mountain, he has destroyed the veil which used to veil al peoples, the pal enveloping alnations;	7 ובלע בהר הזה פני הלוט הלוט על כל העמים והמסכה הנסוכה על כל הגוים
8 he has destroyed death for ever. Lord Yahweh has wiped away the tears from every cheek; he hastaken his people's shame away everywhere on earth, for Yahweh has spoken.	8 בלע המות לנצח ומחה אדני יהוה דמעה מעל כל פנים וחרפת עמו יסיר מעל כל הארץ כי יהוה דבר
9 And on that day, it wil be said, 'Look, this is our God, in him we put our hope that he should save us,this is Yahweh, we put our hope in him. Let us exult and rejoice since he has saved us.'	9 ואמר ביום ההוא הנה אלהינו זה קוינו לו ויושיענו זה יהוה קוינו לו נגילה ונשמחה בישועתו
10 For Yahweh's hand will rest on this mountain, and Moab wil be trodden under his feet as straw istrodden into the dung-heap.	10 כי תנוח יד יהוה בהר הזה ונדוש מואב תחתיו כהדוש מתבן במי מדמנה
11 He may stretch his hands wide on the mountain like a swimmer stretching out his hands to swim. Buthe wil humble his pride despite what his hands may attempt.	11 ופרש ידיו בקרבו כאשר יפרש השחה לשחות והשפיל גאותו עם ארבות ידיו
12 And the impregnable fortress of your walls, he has overthrown, laid low, flung to the ground, in thedust.	12 ומבצר משגב חומתיך השח השפיל הגיע לארץ עד עפר
