1 Disaster! Land of the whirring locust beyond the rivers of Cush,	1 - Guai alla terra rombante di ali, che sta oltre i fiumi d'Etiopia,
2 who send ambassadors by sea, in little reed-boats across the waters! Go, swift messengers to a nationtal and bronzed, to a people feared far and near, a mighty and masterful nation whose country is criss-crossedwith rivers.	2 che manda ambasciatori per mare e in barche di giunchi sopra le acque! Andate, o messaggeri veloci, alla nazione strascinata e lacerata, al popolo terribile, oltre al quale non ve n'è altro, alla nazione che aspetta ed è conculcata, a cui i fiumi depredano le terre.
3 Al you who inhabit the world, you who people the earth, when the signal is hoisted on the mountains,you wil see, when the ram's-horn is sounded, you wil hear.	3 Voi tutti abitatori del mondo, che avete dimora sulla terra, come si leverà sui monti il segnale, vedrete: allo squillar della tromba, udirete.
4 For this is what Yahweh has told me, 'I shall sit here quietly looking down, like the burning heat in thedaytime, like a dewy mist in the heat of harvest.'	4 Perchè il Signore mi dice così: «Io me ne starò quieto ad osservare dalla mia dimora, sereno come luce meridiana; tranquillo come nube rugiadosa nei giorni della mèsse».
5 For, before the harvest, once the flowering is over and blossom turns into ripening grape, the brancheswil be cut off with pruning knives, and the shoots taken off, cut away.	5 Perchè avanti la raccolta già tutto era in fiore; coi germi immaturi che stanno per venire a perfezione, vedrà recisi i suoi tralci dalla falce, e i resti saranno troncati e gettati via.
6 Al has been abandoned to the mountain birds of prey and the wild animals: the birds of prey wilsummer on them, and al the wild animals winter on them.	6 E saranno insieme abbandonati ai volatili dei monti e alle bestie della terra, e tutta l'estate volteggeranno sopra di loro gli uccelli, e ogni sorta di bestie della terra faranno il loro pasto durante l'inverno.
7 Then, an offering will be brought to Yahweh Sabaoth on behalf of a people tal and bronzed, on behalfof a people feared far and near, on behalf of a mighty and masterful nation whose country is criss-crossed withrivers: to the place where the name of Yahweh Sabaoth resides, Mount Zion.	7 In quel tempo dal popolo strascinato e lacerato, dal popolo orrido, oltre il quale non ve n'è altro, dalla gente che aspetta ed è conculcata, i cui fiumi deprederanno le terre, saranno portati doni al Signore degli eserciti, nel luogo del nome del Signore degli eserciti, nel monte di Sion.
