NEW JERUSALEM	BIBLIA
1 Be in no hurry to speak; do not hastily declare yourself before God; for God is in heaven, you on earth.Be sparing, then, of speech:	1 No te precipites a hablar, ni tu corazón se apresure a pronunciar una palabra ante Dios. Pues Dios está en el cielo, pero tú en la tierra: sean por tanto pocas tus palabras.
2 From too much worrying comes illusion, from too much talking, the accents of fol y.	2 Porque, los sueños vienen de las muchas tareas. la voz necia, de las muchas palabras.
3 If you make a vow to God, discharge it without delay, for God has no love for fools. Discharge your vow.	3 Si haces voto a Dios, no tardes en cumplirlo; pues no le agradan los necios. El voto que has hecho, cúmplelo.
4 Better a vow unmade than made and not discharged.	4 Es mejor no hacer votos que hacerlos y no cumplirlos.
5 Do not al ow your mouth to make a sinner of you, and do not say to the messenger that it was amistake. Why give God occasion to be angry with you and ruin al the work that you have done?	5 No permitas que tu boca haga de ti un pecador, y luego digas ante el Mensajero que fue inadvertencia. ¿Por qué deberá Dios irritarse por tu palabra y destruir la obra de tus manos?
6 From too many illusions come futility and too much talk. Therefore, fear God.	6 Cuantos los sueños, tantas las vanidades y las muchas palabras. Pero tú teme a Dios.
7 If in a province you see the poor oppressed, fair judgement and justice violated, do not be surprised, forover every official there watches a higher official, and over these, higher officials stil .	7 Si en la región ves la opresión del pobre y la violación del derecho y de la justicia, no te asombres por eso. Se te dirá que una dignidad vigila sobre otra dignidad, y otra más dignas sobre ambas.
8 But what the land yields is for the benefit of al , a king is served by the fields.	8 Se invocará el interés común y el servicio del rey.
9 No one who loves money ever has enough, no one who loves luxury has any income; this, too, is futile.	9 Quien ama el dinero, no se harta de él, y para quien ama riquezas, no bastas ganancias. También esto es vanidad.
10 Where goods abound, parasites abound: where is the owner's profit, apart from feasting his eyes?	10 A muchos bienes, muchos que los devoren; y ¿de qué más sirven a su dueño que de espectáculo para sus ojos?
11 The labourer's sleep is sweet, whether he has eaten little or much, but the surfeit of the rich wil not lethim sleep at al .	11 Dulce el sueño del obrero, coma poco o coma mucho; pero al rico la hartura no le deja dormir.
12 Something grossly unjust I observe under the sun: riches stored and turning to loss for their owner.	12 Hay un grave mal que yo he visto bajo el sol: riqueza guardada para su dueño, y que solo sirve para su mal,
13 An unlucky venture, and those riches are lost; a son is born to him, and he has nothing to leave him.	13 pues las riquezas perecen en un mal negocio, y cuando engendra un hijo, nada queda ya en su mano.
14 Naked from his mother's womb he came; as naked as he came wil he depart; not one of hisachievements can he take with him.	14 Como salió del vientre de su madre, desnudo volverá, como ha venido; y nada podrá sacar de sus fatigas que pueda llevar en la mano.
15 And something else grossly unjust: that as he came, so must he go; what profit can he show aftertoiling to earn the wind,	15 También esto es grave mal: que tal como vino, se vaya; y ¿de qué le vale el fatigarse para el viento?
16 as he spends the rest of his days in darkness, mourning, many sorrows, sickness and exasperation.	16 Todos los días pasa en oscuridad, pena, fastidio, enfermedad y rabia.
17 So my conclusion is this: true happiness lies in eating and drinking and enjoying whatever has beenachieved under the sun, throughout the life given by God: for this is the lot of humanity.	17 Esto he experimentado: lo mejor para el hombre es comer, beber y disfrutar en todos sus fatigosos afanes bajo el sol, en los contados días de la vida que Dios le da; porque esta es su paga.
18 And whenever God gives someone riches and property, with the ability to enjoy them and to findcontentment in work, this is a gift from God.	18 Y además: cuando a cualquier hombre Dios da riquezas y tesoros, le deja disfrutar de ellos, tomar su paga y holgarse en medio de sus fatigas, esto es un don de Dios.
19 For such a person wil hardly notice the passing of time, so long as God keeps his heart occupied withjoy.	19 Porque así no recuerda mucho los días de su vida, mientras Dios le llena de alegría el corazón.
