Ecclesiastes/Qohelet 11

NEW JERUSALEM	JERUSALEM
1 Cast your bread on the water, eventual y you wil recover it.	1 Lance ton pain sur l'eau, à la longue tu le retrouveras.
2 Offer a share to seven or to eight people, you can never tell what disaster may occur.	2 Donne une part à sept ou à huit, car tu ne sais pas quel malheur peut venir sur la terre.
3 When clouds are ful of rain, they wil shed it on the earth. If a tree fal s, whether south or north, whereit falls, there it wil lie.	3 Si les nuages sont pleins de pluie, ils la déversent sur la terre; et si un arbre tombe, au sud oubien au nord, l'arbre reste où il est tombé.
4 Keep watching the wind and you wil never sow, keep staring at the clouds and you will never reap.	4 Qui observe le vent ne sème pas, qui regarde les nuages ne moissonne pas.
5 You do not understand how the wind blows, or how the embryo grows in a woman's womb: no morecan you understand the work of God, the Creator of al .	5 De même que tu ne connais pas le chemin que suit le vent, ou celui de l'embryon dans le seinde la femme, de même tu ne connais pas l'oeuvre de Dieu qui fait tout.
6 In the morning, sow your seed, until evening, do not cease from labour, for of any two things you donot know which wil succeed, or which of the two is the better.	6 Le matin, sème ton grain, et le soir ne laisse pas ta main inactive, car de deux choses tu ne saispas celle qui réussira, ou si elles sont aussi bonnes l'une que l'autre.
7 How sweet light is, how delightful it is to see the sun!	7 Douce est la lumière et il plaît aux yeux de voir le soleil;
8 However many years you live, enjoy them all, but remember, the days of darkness wil be many: futilityawaits you at the end.	8 si l'homme vit de longues années, qu'il profite de toutes, mais qu'il se rappelle que les jours deténèbres seront nombreux: tout ce qui vient est vanité.
9 Young man, enjoy yourself while you are young, make the most of the days of your youth, follow theprompting and desire of heart and eye, but remember, God wil cal you to account for everything.	9 Réjouis-toi, jeune homme, dans ta jeunesse, sois heureux aux jours de ton adolescence, suis lesvoies de ton coeur et les désirs de tes yeux, mais sache que sur tout cela Dieu te fera venir en jugement.
10 Rid your heart of indignation, keep your body clear of suffering, though youth and the age of blackhair are both futile.	10 Eloigne de ton coeur le chagrin, écarte de ta chair la souffrance, mais la jeunesse et l'âge descheveux noirs sont vanité.
