1 Wine is reckless, liquor rowdy; unwise is anyone whom it seduces.	1 Il vino è schernitore, e la cervogia è tumultuante; E chiunque ne è vago non è savio
2 Like the roaring of a lion is the fury of a king; whoever provokes him sins against himself.	2 Il terrore del re è come il ruggito del leoncello; Chi lo provoca ad indegnazione pecca contro a sè stesso
3 It is praiseworthy to stop short of a law-suit; only a fool flies into a rage.	3 Egli è gloria all’uomo di rimanersi di contesa; Ma chiunque è stolto si fa schernire
4 In autumn the idler does not plough, at harvest time he looks -- nothing there!	4 Il pigro non ara per cagion del freddo; E poi nella ricolta va accattando, e non trova nulla
5 The resources of the human heart are like deep waters: an understanding person has only to draw onthem.	5 Il consiglio nel cuor dell’uomo è un’acqua profonda; E l’uomo intendente l’attignerà
6 Many describe themselves as people of faithful love, but who can find someone real y to be trusted?	6 Il più degli uomini predicano ciascuno la sua benignità; Ma chi troverà un uomo verace?
7 The upright whose ways are blameless -- blessed the children who come after!	7 I figliuoli del giusto, che cammina nella sua integrità, Saranno beati dopo di lui

13 Do not love sleep or you will know poverty; keep your eyes open and have your fil of food.	13 Non amare il sonno, che tu non impoverisca; Tieni gli occhi aperti, e sarai saziato di pane
14 'No good, no good!' says the buyer, but he goes off congratulating himself.	14 Chi compera dice: Egli è cattivo, egli è cattivo; Ma quando se n’è andato, allora si vanta
15 There are gold and jewels of every type, but a priceless ornament is speech informed by knowledge.	15 Vi è dell’oro, e delle perle assai; Ma le labbra di scienza sono un vaso prezioso
