NEW JERUSALEMDOUAI-RHEIMS
How blessed is anyone who rejects the advice of the wicked and does not take a stand in the path that sinners tread, nor a seat in company with cynics,1 Blessed is the man who hath not walked in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stood in the way of sinners, nor sat in the chair of pestilence.
but who delights in the law of Yahweh and murmurs his law day and night.2 But his will is in the law of the Lord, and on his law he shall meditate day and night.
Such a one is like a tree planted near streams; it bears fruit in season and its leaves never wither, and every project succeeds.3 And he shall be like a tree which is planted near the running waters, which shall bring forth its fruit, in due season. And his leaf shall not fall off: and all whosoever he shall do shall prosper.
How different the wicked, how different! Just like chaff blown around by the wind4 Not so the wicked, not so: but like the dust, which the wind driveth from the face of the earth.
the wicked will not stand firm at the Judgement nor sinners in the gathering of the upright.5 Therefore the wicked shall not rise again in judgment: nor sinners in the council of the just.
For Yahweh watches over the path of the upright, but the path of the wicked is doomed.6 For the Lord knoweth the way of the just: and the way of the wicked shall perish.
