Exodus 6

1 Yahweh then said to Moses, 'Now you wil see what I am going to do to Pharaoh. A mighty hand wilforce him to let them go, a mighty hand will force him to expel them from his country.'	1 Dixitque Dominus ad Moysen: “ Nunc videbis quae facturus sim pharaoni; per manum enim fortem dimittet eos et in manu robusta eiciet illos de terra sua ”.
2 God spoke to Moses and said to him, 'I am Yahweh.	2 Locutusque est Dominus ad Moysen dicens: “ Ego Dominus,
3 To Abraham, Isaac and Jacob I appeared as El Shaddai, but I did not make my name Yahweh known tothem.	3 qui apparui Abraham, Isaac et Iacob ut Deus omnipotens; et nomen meum Dominum non indicavi eis.
4 I also made my covenant with them to give them the land of Canaan, the country in which they wereliving as aliens.	4 Pepigique cum eis foedus, ut darem illis terram Chanaan, terram peregrinationis eorum, in qua fuerunt advenae.
5 Furthermore, I have heard the groaning of the Israelites, enslaved by the Egyptians, and haveremembered my covenant.	5 Ego audivi gemitum filiorum Israel, quia Aegyptii oppresserunt eos, et recordatus sum pacti mei.
6 So say to the Israelites, "I am Yahweh. I shall free you from the forced labour of the Egyptians; I shalrescue you from their slavery and I shal redeem you with outstretched arm and mighty acts of judgement.	6 Ideo dic filiis Israel: Ego Dominus, qui educam vos de ergastulo Aegyptiorum; et eruam de servitute ac redimam in brachio excelso et iudiciis magnis.
7 I shall take you as my people and I shal be your God. And you wil know that I am Yahweh your God,who have freed you from the forced labour of the Egyptians.	7 Et assumam vos mihi in populum et ero vester Deus; et scietis quod ego sum Dominus Deus vester, qui eduxerim vos de ergastulo Aegyptiorum
8 Then I shal lead you into the country which I swore I would give to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, andshall give it to you as your heritage, I, Yahweh." '	8 et induxerim in terram, super quam levavi manum meam, ut darem eam Abraham, Isaac et Iacob; daboque illam vobis possidendam, ego Dominus ”.
9 And Moses repeated this to the Israelites, but they would not listen to Moses, so crushed was their spiritand so cruel their slavery.	9 Narravit ergo Moyses omnia filiis Israel; qui non acquieverunt ei propter angustiam spiritus et opus durissimum.
10 Yahweh then said to Moses,	10 Locutusque est Dominus ad Moysen dicens:
11 'Go to Pharaoh, king of Egypt, and tel him to let the Israelites leave his country.'	11 “ Ingredere et loquere ad pharaonem regem Aegypti, ut dimittat filios Israel de terra sua ”.
12 But Moses spoke out in Yahweh's presence and said, 'The Israelites have not listened to me, so whyshould Pharaoh take any notice of a poor speaker like me?'	12 Respondit Moyses coram Domino: “ Ecce, filii Israel non audiunt me, et quomodo audiet me pharao, praesertim cum incircumcisus sim labiis? ”.
13 Yahweh spoke to Moses and Aaron and sent them to Pharaoh king of Egypt, to lead the Israelites outof Egypt.	13 Locutusque est Dominus ad Moysen et Aaron et dedit mandatum ad filios Israel et ad pharaonem regem Aegypti, ut educerent filios Israel de terra Aegypti.
14 These were their heads of families: The sons of Reuben, Israel's first-born: Hanoch, Pal u, Hezron andCarmi: these are the clans of Reuben.	14 Isti sunt principes domorum per familias suas. Filii Ruben primogeniti Israelis: Henoch et Phallu, Hesron et Charmi; hae cognationes Ruben.
15 The sons of Simeon: Jemuel, Jamin, Ohad, Jachin, Zohar, and Shaul son of the Canaanite woman:these are the clans of Simeon.	15 Filii Simeon: Iamuel et Iamin et Ahod et Iachin et Sohar er Saul filius Chananitidis; hae progenies Simeon.
16 These were the names of the sons of Levi with their descendants: Gershon, Kohath and Merari. Levilived for a hundred and thirty-seven years.	16 Et haec nomina filiorum Levi per cognationes suas: Gerson et Caath et Merari; anni autem vitae Levi fuerunt centum triginta septem.
17 The sons of Gershon: Libni and Shimei, with their clans.	17 Filii Gerson: Lobni et Semei per cognationes suas.
18 The sons of Kohath: Amram, Izhar, Hebron and Uzziel. Kohath lived for a hundred and thirty-threeyears.	18 Filii Caath: Amram et Isaar et Hebron et Oziel; anni quoque vitae Caath centum triginta tres.
19 The sons of Merari: Mahli and Mushi. These are the clans of Levi with their descendants.	19 Filii Merari: Moholi et Musi; hae cognationes Levi per familias suas.
20 Amram married Jochebed, his aunt, who bore him Aaron and Moses. Amram lived for a hundred andthirty-seven years.	20 Accepit autem Amram uxorem Iochabed amitam suam, quae peperit ei Aaron et Moysen; fueruntque anni vitae Amram centum triginta septem.
21 The sons of Izhar were: Korah, Nepheg and Zichri.	21 Filii quoque Isaar: Core et Napheg et Zechri.
22 And the sons of Uzziel: Mishael, Elzaphan and Sithri.	22 Filii quoque Oziel: Misael et Elisaphan et Sethri.
23 Aaron married Elisheba daughter of Amminadab and sister of Nahshon, and she bore him Nadab,Abihu, Eleazar and Ithamar.	23 Accepit autem Aaron uxorem Elisabeth filiam Aminadab sororem Naasson, quae peperit ei Nadab et Abiu et Eleazar et Ithamar.
24 The sons of Korah: Assir, Elkanah and Abiasaph. These are the clans of the Korahites.	24 Filii quoque Core: Asir et Elcana et Abiasaph; hae sunt cognationes Coritarum.
25 Eleazar, son of Aaron, married one of Putiel's daughters who bore him Phinehas. These were theLevitical heads of families, according to clan.	25 At vero Eleazar filius Aaron accepit uxorem de filiabus Phutiel, quae peperit ei Phinees; hi sunt principes familiarum Leviticarum per cognationes suas.
26 It was to this Aaron and Moses that Yahweh said, 'Lead the Israelites out of Egypt in their armies.'	26 Iste est Aaron et Moyses, quibus praecepit Dominus, ut educerent filios Israel de terra Aegypti per turmas suas.
27 It was they who spoke to Pharaoh, king of Egypt, to lead the Israelites out of Egypt -- namely Mosesand Aaron.	27 Hi sunt qui loquuntur ad pharaonem regem Aegypti, ut educant filios Israel de Aegypto; iste est Moyses et Aaron
28 Now the day when Yahweh spoke to Moses in Egypt,	28 in die, qua locutus est Dominus ad Moysen in terra Aegypti.
29 Yahweh said to Moses, 'Tell Pharaoh king of Egypt everything that I am going to say to you.'	29 Et locutus est Dominus ad Moysen dicens: “ Ego Dominus; loquere ad pharaonem regem Aegypti omnia, quae ego loquor tibi ”.
30 But Moses said to Yahweh's face, 'I am a poor speaker, so why should Pharaoh take any notice ofme?'	30 Et ait Moyses coram Domino: “ En incircumcisus labiis sum. Quomodo audiet me pharao? ”.
