NEW JERUSALEMKING JAMES BIBLE
From the violet-purple, red-purple and crimson materials, they made the liturgical vestments forservice in the sanctuary. They made the sacred vestments for Aaron, as Yahweh had ordered Moses.1 And of the blue, and purple, and scarlet, they made cloths of service, to do service in the holy place, and made the holy garments for Aaron; as the LORD commanded Moses.
They made the ephod of gold, of violet-purple, red-purple and crimson materials and finely wovenlinen.2 And he made the ephod of gold, blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine twined linen.
They beat gold into thin plates and cut these into threads to work into the violet-purple, red-purple andcrimson materials and the fine linen by needlework.3 And they did beat the gold into thin plates, and cut it into wires, to work it in the blue, and in the purple, and in the scarlet, and in the fine linen, with cunning work.
For the ephod they made shoulder-straps which were joined to it at its two edges.4 They made shoulderpieces for it, to couple it together: by the two edges was it coupled together.
The waistband on the ephod to hold it in position, was of a piece with it and of the same workmanship:of gold, violet-purple, red-purple and finely woven linen, as Yahweh had ordered Moses.5 And the curious girdle of his ephod, that was upon it, was of the same, according to the work thereof; of gold, blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine twined linen; as the LORD commanded Moses.
They worked the cornelians, mounted in gold setting, and engraved, like an engraved seal, with thenames of the sons of Israel,6 And they wrought onyx stones inclosed in ouches of gold, graven, as signets are graven, with the names of the children of Israel.
and put the stones on the shoulder-straps of the ephod, to commemorate the sons of Israel, asYahweh had ordered Moses.7 And he put them on the shoulders of the ephod, that they should be stones for a memorial to the children of Israel; as the LORD commanded Moses.
They made the breastplate of the same embroidered work as the ephod: of gold, violet-purple, red-purple and crimson materials and finely woven linen.8 And he made the breastplate of cunning work, like the work of the ephod; of gold, blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine twined linen.
It was square and doubled over, a span in length and a span in width.9 It was foursquare; they made the breastplate double: a span was the length thereof, and a span the breadth thereof, being doubled.
In it they set four rows of stones: a sard, a topaz and an emerald, for the first row;10 And they set in it four rows of stones: the first row was a sardius, a topaz, and a carbuncle: this was the first row.
for the second row, a garnet, a sapphire and a diamond;11 And the second row, an emerald, a sapphire, and a diamond.
for the third row, a hyacinth, a ruby and an amethyst;12 And the third row, a ligure, an agate, and an amethyst.
and for the fourth row, a beryl, a cornelian and a jasper: mounted in gold settings,13 And the fourth row, a beryl, an onyx, and a jasper: they were inclosed in ouches of gold in their inclosings.
the stones corresponding to the names of the sons of Israel, twelve like their names, engraved likeseals, each with the name of one of the twelve tribes.14 And the stones were according to the names of the children of Israel, twelve, according to their names, like the engravings of a signet, every one with his name, according to the twelve tribes.
For the breastplate they made chains of pure gold twisted like cords,15 And they made upon the breastplate chains at the ends, of wreathen work of pure gold.
and they made two gold rosettes and two gold rings, putting the two rings on the two outside edgesof the breastplate16 And they made two ouches of gold, and two gold rings; and put the two rings in the two ends of the breastplate.
and fastening the two gold cords to the two rings on the outside edges of the breastplate.17 And they put the two wreathen chains of gold in the two rings on the ends of the breastplate.
The other two ends of the cords they fastened to the two rosettes, putting these on the shoulder-straps of the ephod, on the front.18 And the two ends of the two wreathen chains they fastened in the two ouches, and put them on the shoulderpieces of the ephod, before it.
They also made two gold rings and put them on the two outside edges of the breastplate, on theinner side, against the ephod;19 And they made two rings of gold, and put them on the two ends of the breastplate, upon the border of it, which was on the side of the ephod inward.
and they made two more gold rings and put them low down on the front of the two shoulder-straps ofthe ephod, close to the join, above the waistband of the ephod.20 And they made two other golden rings, and put them on the two sides of the ephod underneath, toward the forepart of it, over against the other coupling thereof, above the curious girdle of the ephod.
They secured the pectoral by a violet-purple cord passed through its rings and those of the ephod, sothat the pectoral would sit above the waistband and not come apart from the ephod, as Yahweh had orderedMoses.21 And they did bind the breastplate by his rings unto the rings of the ephod with a lace of blue, that it might be above the curious girdle of the ephod, and that the breastplate might not be loosed from the ephod; as the LORD commanded Moses.
They made the robe of the ephod woven entirely of violet-purple.22 And he made the robe of the ephod of woven work, all of blue.
The opening in the centre of the robe was like the neck of a coat of mail; round the opening was aborder, so that it would not get torn.23 And there was an hole in the midst of the robe, as the hole of an habergeon, with a band round about the hole, that it should not rend.
On the lower hem of the robe, they made pomegranates of violet-purple, red-purple and crimson andfinely woven linen,24 And they made upon the hems of the robe pomegranates of blue, and purple, and scarlet, and twined linen.
and made bells of pure gold, putting the bel s between the pomegranates al round the lower hem ofthe robe:25 And they made bells of pure gold, and put the bells between the pomegranates upon the hem of the robe, round about between the pomegranates;
alternately, a bel and then a pomegranate, al round the lower hem of the robe of office, as Yahwehhad ordered Moses.26 A bell and a pomegranate, a bell and a pomegranate, round about the hem of the robe to minister in; as the LORD commanded Moses.
They made the tunics of finely woven linen for Aaron and his sons,27 And they made coats of fine linen of woven work for Aaron, and for his sons,
the turban of fine linen, the head-dresses of fine linen, the breeches of finely woven linen,28 And a mitre of fine linen, and goodly bonnets of fine linen, and linen breeches of fine twined linen,
the waistbands of finely woven linen embroidered with violet-purple, red-purple and crimson, asYahweh had ordered Moses.29 And a girdle of fine twined linen, and blue, and purple, and scarlet, of needlework; as the LORD commanded Moses.
They also made the flower -- the symbol of holy consecration -- of pure gold and on it, like anengraved seal, they engraved, 'Consecrated to Yahweh'.30 And they made the plate of the holy crown of pure gold, and wrote upon it a writing, like to the engravings of a signet, HOLINESS TO THE LORD.
They put it on a violet-purple cord, to fasten it high up on the turban, as Yahweh had ordered Moses.31 And they tied unto it a lace of blue, to fasten it on high upon the mitre; as the LORD commanded Moses.
So all the work for the Dwelling, for the Tent of Meeting, was completed. They had done everythingexactly as Yahweh had ordered Moses.32 Thus was all the work of the tabernacle of the tent of the congregation finished: and the children of Israel did according to all that the LORD commanded Moses, so did they.
They then brought Moses the Dwel ing, the Tent and al its accessories: its clasps, frames, crossbars, poles and sockets;33 And they brought the tabernacle unto Moses, the tent, and all his furniture, his taches, his boards, his bars, and his pillars, and his sockets,
the cover of rams' skins dyed red, the cover of fine leather and the screening curtain;34 And the covering of rams' skins dyed red, and the covering of badgers' skins, and the vail of the covering,
the ark of the Testimony and its shafts, and the mercy-seat;35 The ark of the testimony, and the staves thereof, and the mercy seat,
the table, all its accessories and the loaves of permanent offering;36 The table, and all the vessels thereof, and the shewbread,
the lamp-stand of pure gold, its lamps -- the array of lamps -- and all its accessories, and the oil forthe light;37 The pure candlestick, with the lamps thereof, even with the lamps to be set in order, and all the vessels thereof, and the oil for light,
the golden altar, the anointing oil, the fragrant incense and the screen for the entrance to the tent;38 And the golden altar, and the anointing oil, and the sweet incense, and the hanging for the tabernacle door,
the bronze altar and its bronze grating, its shafts and all its accessories; the basin and its stand;39 The brasen altar, and his grate of brass, his staves, and all his vessels, the laver and his foot,
the curtaining for the court, its poles, its sockets, and the screen for the gateway to the court, itscords, its pegs and al the accessories for the service of the Dwel ing, for the Tent of Meeting;40 The hangings of the court, his pillars, and his sockets, and the hanging for the court gate, his cords, and his pins, and all the vessels of the service of the tabernacle, for the tent of the congregation,
the liturgical vestments for officiating in the sanctuary -- the sacred vestments for Aaron the priest, and the vestments for his sons -- for the priestly functions.41 The cloths of service to do service in the holy place, and the holy garments for Aaron the priest, and his sons' garments, to minister in the priest's office.
The Israelites had done al the work exactly as Yahweh had ordered Moses.42 According to all that the LORD commanded Moses, so the children of Israel made all the work.
Moses inspected all the work: they had indeed done it as Yahweh had ordered; and Moses blessedthem.43 And Moses did look upon all the work, and, behold, they have done it as the LORD had commanded, even so had they done it: and Moses blessed them.
