1 Yahweh said to Moses and Aaron in Egypt,	1 Il Signore disse ancora a Mosè e ad Aronne nella terra d'Egitto:
2 'This month must be the first of al the months for you, the first month of your year.	2 Questo mese sarà per voi il principio dei mesi, sarà il primo dei mesi dell'anno,
3 Speak to the whole community of Israel and say, "On the tenth day of this month each man must takean animal from the flock for his family: one animal for each household.	3 parlate a tutta l'assemblea dei figli d'Israele, e dite loro: Nel decimo giorno di questo mese ciascuno prenda un agnello per famiglia e per casa.
4 If the household is too smal for the animal, he must join with his neighbour nearest to his house,depending on the number of persons. When you choose the animal, you wil take into account what each caneat.	4 Ma se il numero non giunge a quanti ce ne vogliono per mangiare un agnello, prenda il suo vicino che gli è prossimo di casa, fino al numero delle persone sufficienti a finire l'agnello.
5 It must be an animal without blemish, a male one year old; you may choose it either from the sheep orfrom the goats.	5 Or l'agnello deve essere senza macchia, maschio, di un anno. Collo stesso rito potete prendere anche un capretto.
6 You must keep it til the fourteenth day of the month when the whole assembly of the community ofIsrael wil slaughter it at twilight.	6 Lo serberete fino al quattordicesimo giorno di questo mese, e verso sera lo immolerà tutto il popolo dei figli d'Israele.
7 Some of the blood must then be taken and put on both door-posts and the lintel of the houses where itis eaten.	7 Prendano inoltre del suo sangue e ne mettano sui due stipiti e sull'architrave della porta delle case dove sarà mangiato.
8 That night, the flesh must be eaten, roasted over the fire; it must be eaten with unleavened bread andbitter herbs.	8 E in quella stessa notte ne saran mangiate le carni arrostite al fuoco, con pani senza lievito e lattughe selvatiche.
9 Do not eat any of it raw or boiled in water, but roasted over the fire, with the head, feet and entrails.	9 Non ne mangerete punto crudo o cotto nell'acqua, ma tutto arrostito al fuoco, colla testa, i piedi e gl'intestini.
10 You must not leave any of it over till the morning: whatever is left till morning you must burn.	10 Niente di esso deve arrivare al mattino, e se ne avanzasse qualche cosa, la distruggerete col fuoco.
11 This is how you must eat it: with a belt round your waist, your sandals on your feet and your staff inyour hand. You must eat it hurriedly: it is a Passover in Yahweh's honour.	11 E lo mangerete in questa maniera: coi fianchi cinti, i calzari ai piedi, i bastoni in mano, in fretta lo mangerete, perchè è la Pasqua (cioè il passaggio) del Signore.
12 That night, I shal go through Egypt and strike down all the first-born in Egypt, man and beast alike,and shal execute justice on al the gods of Egypt, I, Yahweh!	12 Quella notte io passerò per il paese d'Egitto, ove percuoterò ogni primogenito, dall'uomo fino alle bestie, e farò giustizia di tutti gli dèi d'Egitto, io, il Signore.
13 The blood wil be a sign for you on the houses where you are. When I see the blood I shall pass overyou, and you wil escape the destructive plague when I strike Egypt.	13 Ma quel sangue mi sarà un segno in vostro favore, nelle case ove abitate voi, e veduto il sangue, io passerò oltre, quando percuoterò il paese d'Egitto, e non cadrà sopra di voi la piaga sterminatrice.
14 This day must be commemorated by you, and you must keep it as a feast in Yahweh's honour. Youmust keep it as a feast-day for al generations; this is a decree for al time.	14 Questo giorno sarà per voi un monumento e lo celebrerete con perpetuo culto di generazione in generazione, come giorno solenne del Signore.
15 "For seven days you must eat unleavened bread. On the first day you must clean the leaven out ofyour houses, for anyone who eats leavened bread from the first to the seventh day must be outlawed from Israel.	15 Per sette giorni mangerete pani azzimi: fin dal primo giorno non vi sarà più lievito nelle vostre case; e chiunque mangerà del fermentato, dal primo al settimo giorno, sarà reciso dal popolo d'Israele.
16 On the first day you must hold a sacred assembly, and on the seventh day a sacred assembly. Onthose days no work may be done; you wil prepare only what each requires to eat.	16 Il primo giorno sarà santo e solenne, ed anche il settimo sarà festa ugualmente venerabile. In quei giorni non fate alcun lavoro, eccetto quello che riguarda il mangiare.
17 You must keep the feast of Unleavened Bread because it was on that same day that I brought yourarmies out of Egypt. You wil keep that day, generation after generation; this is a decree for al time.	17 Osservate adunque la festa degli azzimi, perchè in quello stesso giorno io trarrò il vostro esercito dalla terra d'Egitto; festeggiate perciò questo giorno con perpetuo culto nelle vostre generazioni.
18 In the first month, from the evening of the fourteenth day until the evening of the twenty-first day, youmust eat unleavened bread.	18 Nel primo mese, mangerete pani azzimi dalla sera del quattordici alla sera del ventuno del mese stesso.
19 For seven days there may be no leaven in your houses, since anyone, either stranger or citizen ofthe country, who eats leavened bread wil be outlawed from the community of Israel.	19 Per sette giorni non si trovi lievito nelle vostre case, e chi mangerà pane fermentato sia reciso dal popolo d'Israele, sia esso forestiero o nativo del paese.
20 You wil eat nothing with leaven in it; wherever you live, you will eat unleavened bread." '	20 Allora non dovete mangiar nulla di fermentato, ma azzimi in tutte le vostre dimore ».
21 Moses summoned al the elders of Israel and said to them, 'Go and choose a lamb or kid for yourfamilies, and kil the Passover victim.	21 Mosè adunque chiamò tutti gli anziani dei figli d'Israele, e disse loro: « Andate, prendete un animale per ciascuna delle vostre famiglie, e immolate la Pasqua.
22 Then take a bunch of hyssop, dip it in the blood that is in the basin, and with the blood from the basintouch the lintel and both door-posts; then let none of you venture out of the house til morning.	22 Poi tuffate un mazzetto d'issopo nel sangue, che sarà sulla soglia, e aspergetene l'architrave e i due stipiti della porta: e nessuno di voi, fino alla mattina, esca fuori della porta di casa sua.
23 Then, when Yahweh goes through Egypt to strike it, and sees the blood on the lintel and on bothdoor-posts, he wil pass over the door and not al ow the Destroyer to enter your homes and strike.	23 Così, quando il Signore passerà a percuotere gli Egiziani, veduto il sangue sull'architrave e sui due stipiti della porta, passerà oltre la porta, e non permetterà al distruttore di entrar nelle vostre case a far danno.
24 You wil observe this as a decree binding you and your children for al time,	24 Osserva questo come una legge eterna per te e per i tuoi figli.
25 and when you have entered the country which Yahweh will give you, as he has promised, you wilobserve this ritual.	25 E quando sarete entrati nella terra che il Signore vi darà come ha promesso, osservate queste cerimonie.
26 And when your children ask you, "What does this ritual mean?"	26 E quando i vostri figli vi diranno: Che significa questo rito?
27 you will tel them, "It is the Passover sacrifice in honour of Yahweh who passed over the houses ofthe Israelites in Egypt, and struck Egypt but spared our houses." ' And the people bowed in worship.	27 voi risponderete: È la vittima del passaggio del Signore, il quale passò oltre le case dei figlioli d'Israele in Egitto, quando percosse gli Egiziani e salvò le nostre case ». Il popolo adorò prostrato;
28 The Israelites then went away and did as Yahweh had ordered Moses and Aaron.	28 poi i figli d'Israele andarono a fare come il Signore aveva ordinato a Mosè e ad Aronne.
29 And at midnight Yahweh struck down al the first-born in Egypt from the first-born of Pharaoh, heir tohis throne, to the first-born of the prisoner in the dungeon, and the first-born of all the livestock.	29 Ed ecco alla mezzanotte il Signore percuotere tutti i primogeniti nella terra d'Egitto, dal primogenito di Faraone che sedeva sul trono, al primogenito della schiava che era in carcere, fin tutti i primogeniti degli animali.
30 Pharaoh and al his officials and al the Egyptians got up in the night, and there was great wailing inEgypt, for there was not a house without its dead.	30 E Faraone s'alzò di notte, egli e tutti i suoi servi e tutti gli Egiziani; e vi fu un gran grido in Egitto, perchè non vi era casa dove non vi fosse un morto.
31 It was stil dark when Pharaoh summoned Moses and Aaron and said, 'Up, leave my subjects, youand the Israelites! Go and worship Yahweh as you have asked!	31 Allora Faraone, fatti chiamare, in quella stessa notte, Mosè ed Aronne, disse loro: « Levatevi, uscite di mezzo al mio popolo, voi e i figli d'Israele, andate, sacrificate al Signore come avete detto:
32 And take your flocks and herds as you have asked, and go! And bless me too!'	32 prendete pure le vostre pecore e i vostri armenti, come avete domandato, e nel partire beneditemi ».
33 The Egyptians urged the people on and hurried them out of the country because, they said,'Otherwise we shal al be dead.'	33 E gli Egiziani pressavano il popolo per affrettarne la partenza, esclamando: « Morremo tutti! »
34 So the people carried off their dough stil unleavened, their bowls wrapped in their cloaks, on theirshoulders.	34 Il popolo adunque prese la farina impastata e non ancor lievitata, e, involtala nei mantelli, se la pose sulle spalle.
35 The Israelites did as Moses had told them and asked the Egyptians for silver and golden jewel ery,and clothing.	35 Ma i figli d'Israele facendo come Mosè aveva ordinato, chiesero agli Egiziani dei vasi d'argento e d'oro, e moltissimi vestiti.
36 Yahweh made the Egyptians so much impressed with the people that they gave them what theyasked. So they despoiled the Egyptians.	36 E il Signore fece trovar grazia al popolo dinanzi agli Egiziani, in modo che essi prestassero, e cosi gli Ebrei spogliaron gli Egiziani.
37 The Israelites left Rameses for Succoth, about six hundred thousand on the march-men, that is, notcounting their families.	37 E i figli d'Israele partirono da Ramesse per Socot, in numero di circa seicentomila uomini a piedi, senza contare i fanciulli.
38 A mixed crowd of people went with them, and flocks and herds, quantities of livestock.	38 E andò con loro anche una turba innumerevole di gente d'ogni specie, e greggi, armenti, animali d'ogni genere, in grandissima quantità.
39 And with the dough which they had brought from Egypt they baked unleavened cakes, because thedough had not risen, since they had been driven out of Egypt without time to linger or to prepare food forthemselves.	39 Essi poi cossero la pasta che avevan portata dall'Egitto e ne fecero pani azzimi cotti sotto la cenere, perchè, pressati dagli Egiziani a partire senza indugio, non avevan potuto farli lievitare, nè avevan potuto prepararsi vivanda alcuna.
40 The time that the Israelites spent in Egypt was four hundred and thirty years.	40 Or il tempo che i figli d'Israele dimorarono in Egitto fu di quattrocentotrent'anni.
41 And on the very day the four hundred and thirty years ended, al Yahweh's armies left Egypt.	41 Compiuti i quali, proprio nel giorno in cui finivano, tutto l'esercito del Signore usci dalla terra d'Egitto.
42 The night when Yahweh kept vigil to bring them out of Egypt must be kept as a vigil in honour ofYahweh by al Israelites, for al generations.	42 Questa notte, in cui li trasse dalla terra d'Egitto, deve esser consacrata al Signore, e tutti i figli d'Israele devono celebrarla nelle loro generazioni
43 Yahweh said to Moses and Aaron, 'This is the ritual for the Passover: no alien may eat it,	43 E il Signore disse a Mosè e ad Aronne: Questo è il rito della Pasqua: nessuno straniero potrà mangiarne:
44 but any slave bought for money may eat it, once you have circumcised him.	44 Ogni schiavo comprato, soltanto dopo che sarà circonciso, potrà mangiarne.
45 No stranger and no hired servant may eat it.	45 Non ne mangino l'avventizio e il mercenario.
46 It must be eaten in one house alone; you wil not take any of the meat out of the house; nor may youbreak any of its bones.	46 Si mangerà in una stessa casa, e nulla delle sue carni sarà portato fuori e non ne spezzerete osso alcuno.
47 'The whole community of Israel must keep it.	47 Così farà tutta l'assemblea dei figli d'Israele.
48 Should a stranger residing with you wish to keep the Passover in honour of Yahweh, al the males ofhis household must be circumcised: he wil then be al owed to keep it and wil count as a citizen of the country.But no uncircumcised person may eat it.	48 Se poi qualche straniero vorrà passare alla vostra colonia, e far la Pasqua del Signore, prima sian circoncisi tutti i suoi maschi, e allora la potrà celebrare secondo il rito, e sarà come uno nativo dèi paese; ma nessuno incirconciso potrà mangiarne.
49 The same law will apply to the citizen and the stranger resident among you.'	49 Vi sarà la medesima legge per chi è nativo del paese e per lo straniero che dimora tra voi ».
50 The Israelites all did as Yahweh had ordered Moses and Aaron,	50 E tutti i figli d'Israele fecero come il Signore aveva ordinato a Mosè e ad Aronne.
51 and that same day Yahweh brought the Israelites out of Egypt in their armies.	51 E in quel medesimo giorno il Signore trasse fuori dalla terra d'Egitto i figli d'Israele, divisi nelle loro schiere.
