1 Yahweh said to Moses and Aaron in Egypt,	1 Il Signore disse a Mosè ed Aronne nel paese d'Egitto:
2 'This month must be the first of al the months for you, the first month of your year.	2 "Questo mese, per voi, sarà in testa ai mesi, per voi sarà il primo tra i mesi dell'anno.
3 Speak to the whole community of Israel and say, "On the tenth day of this month each man must takean animal from the flock for his family: one animal for each household.	3 Parlate a tutta la comunità d'Israele dicendo: "Il dieci di questo mese ognuno prenda per sé un agnello per famiglia, un agnello per casa.
4 If the household is too smal for the animal, he must join with his neighbour nearest to his house,depending on the number of persons. When you choose the animal, you wil take into account what each caneat.	4 Se la famiglia è poco numerosa per consumare un agnello, si prenderà chi abita più vicino alla propria casa, secondo il numero delle persone: calcolerete la quantità di agnello che ognuno può mangiare.
5 It must be an animal without blemish, a male one year old; you may choose it either from the sheep orfrom the goats.	5 Sarà un agnello integro, maschio, di un anno, e lo prenderete dalle pecore o dalle capre.
6 You must keep it til the fourteenth day of the month when the whole assembly of the community ofIsrael wil slaughter it at twilight.	6 Lo conserverete presso di voi fino al quattordicesimo giorno di questo mese, e tutta l'assemblea della comunità d'Israele lo sgozzerà tra le due sere.
7 Some of the blood must then be taken and put on both door-posts and the lintel of the houses where itis eaten.	7 Prenderà poi del sangue e lo metterà sui due stipiti e sull'architrave di quelle case dove lo si mangerà.
8 That night, the flesh must be eaten, roasted over the fire; it must be eaten with unleavened bread andbitter herbs.	8 In quella notte mangerà la carne arrostita al fuoco, mangerà azzimi con erbe amare.
9 Do not eat any of it raw or boiled in water, but roasted over the fire, with the head, feet and entrails.	9 Non mangiatene però cruda o cotta nell'acqua, ma solo arrostita al fuoco, con la testa, le zampe e gli intestini.
10 You must not leave any of it over till the morning: whatever is left till morning you must burn.	10 Non ne farete avanzare per il mattino, e quello che sarà rimasto al mattino lo brucerete nel fuoco.
11 This is how you must eat it: with a belt round your waist, your sandals on your feet and your staff inyour hand. You must eat it hurriedly: it is a Passover in Yahweh's honour.	11 Così lo mangerete: con i vostri fianchi cinti, i sandali ai piedi, il bastone in mano. Lo mangerete in fretta. E' la Pasqua del Signore.
12 That night, I shal go through Egypt and strike down all the first-born in Egypt, man and beast alike,and shal execute justice on al the gods of Egypt, I, Yahweh!	12 In quella notte attraverserò il paese d'Egitto e colpirò ogni primogenito in terra d'Egitto, dall'uomo alla bestia, e farò giustizia di tutti gli dèi d'Egitto: io, il Signore.
13 The blood wil be a sign for you on the houses where you are. When I see the blood I shall pass overyou, and you wil escape the destructive plague when I strike Egypt.	13 E il sangue sarà per voi un segno sulle case nelle quali siete: vedrò il sangue e vi oltrepasserò e non ci sarà per voi un flagello del distruttore, quando colpirò il paese d'Egitto.
14 This day must be commemorated by you, and you must keep it as a feast in Yahweh's honour. Youmust keep it as a feast-day for al generations; this is a decree for al time.	14 Quel giorno sarà per voi un memoriale, e lo festeggerete come festa del Signore: nelle vostre generazioni lo festeggerete come prescrizione perenne".
15 "For seven days you must eat unleavened bread. On the first day you must clean the leaven out ofyour houses, for anyone who eats leavened bread from the first to the seventh day must be outlawed from Israel.	15 "Per sette giorni mangerete azzimi. Nel primo giorno farete sparire il lievito dalle vostre case, perché chiunque mangerà del lievitato, dal primo al settimo giorno, quella persona sarà recisa da Israele.
16 On the first day you must hold a sacred assembly, and on the seventh day a sacred assembly. Onthose days no work may be done; you wil prepare only what each requires to eat.	16 Nel primo giorno avrete una convocazione sacra, e anche nel settimo giorno avrete una convocazione sacra. Non si farà nessun lavoro: solo quello che si dovrà mangiare da ognuno, quello solo sarà fatto.
17 You must keep the feast of Unleavened Bread because it was on that same day that I brought yourarmies out of Egypt. You wil keep that day, generation after generation; this is a decree for al time.	17 Osserverete gli Azzimi, perché proprio in questo giorno ho fatto uscire le vostre schiere dal paese d'Egitto: osserverete questo giorno come prescrizione perenne per le vostre generazioni.
18 In the first month, from the evening of the fourteenth day until the evening of the twenty-first day, youmust eat unleavened bread.	18 Nel primo mese, il quattordicesimo giorno del mese, alla sera, mangerete azzimi fino al ventunesimo giorno del mese, alla sera.
19 For seven days there may be no leaven in your houses, since anyone, either stranger or citizen ofthe country, who eats leavened bread wil be outlawed from the community of Israel.	19 Per sette giorni non si troverà lievito nelle vostre case, perché chiunque mangerà del lievitato, quella persona sarà recisa dalla comunità d'Israele, immigrato o nativo del paese.
20 You wil eat nothing with leaven in it; wherever you live, you will eat unleavened bread." '	20 Non mangerete nessun genere di lievitato; ovunque abiterete, mangerete azzimi".
21 Moses summoned al the elders of Israel and said to them, 'Go and choose a lamb or kid for yourfamilies, and kil the Passover victim.	21 Mosè chiamò tutti gli anziani d'Israele e disse loro: "Tirate fuori e prendete un animale del gregge per le vostre famiglie, e immolate la Pasqua.
22 Then take a bunch of hyssop, dip it in the blood that is in the basin, and with the blood from the basintouch the lintel and both door-posts; then let none of you venture out of the house til morning.	22 Poi prenderete un mazzo d'issopo, lo intingerete nel sangue che è nel catino e spruzzerete l'architrave e i due stipiti con il sangue che è nel catino, e nessuno di voi uscirà dalla porta di casa fino al mattino.
23 Then, when Yahweh goes through Egypt to strike it, and sees the blood on the lintel and on bothdoor-posts, he wil pass over the door and not al ow the Destroyer to enter your homes and strike.	23 Il Signore passerà per colpire l'Egitto, vedrà il sangue che è sull'architrave e sui due stipiti, passerà oltre la porta e non farà entrare il distruttore nelle vostre case per colpire.
24 You wil observe this as a decree binding you and your children for al time,	24 Osserverete questo come una prescrizione, per te e i tuoi figli, per sempre.
25 and when you have entered the country which Yahweh will give you, as he has promised, you wilobserve this ritual.	25 Quando entrerete nella terra che il Signore vi darà, come ho detto, osserverete questo rito.
26 And when your children ask you, "What does this ritual mean?"	26 E quando i vostri figli vi diranno: "Che cos'è questo rito?",
27 you will tel them, "It is the Passover sacrifice in honour of Yahweh who passed over the houses ofthe Israelites in Egypt, and struck Egypt but spared our houses." ' And the people bowed in worship.	27 direte: "E' il sacrificio della Pasqua del Signore, che passò oltre le case dei figli d'Israele in Egitto, quando colpì l'Egitto e risparmiò le nostre case". Il popolo si inginocchiò e adorò.
28 The Israelites then went away and did as Yahweh had ordered Moses and Aaron.	28 I figli d'Israele se ne andarono e fecero come il Signore aveva ordinato a Mosè e ad Aronne. Così fecero.
29 And at midnight Yahweh struck down al the first-born in Egypt from the first-born of Pharaoh, heir tohis throne, to the first-born of the prisoner in the dungeon, and the first-born of all the livestock.	29 A metà della notte il Signore colpì tutti i primogeniti nel paese d'Egitto, dal primogenito del faraone, che siede sul suo trono, fino al primogenito del prigioniero che è in carcere, e tutti i primogeniti degli animali.
30 Pharaoh and al his officials and al the Egyptians got up in the night, and there was great wailing inEgypt, for there was not a house without its dead.	30 Il faraone si alzò di notte, lui, tutti i suoi servi e tutto l'Egitto, e ci fu un grande grido nell'Egitto, perché non c'era casa dove non ci fosse un morto.
31 It was stil dark when Pharaoh summoned Moses and Aaron and said, 'Up, leave my subjects, youand the Israelites! Go and worship Yahweh as you have asked!	31 E chiamò Mosè ed Aronne di notte e disse: "Alzatevi ed uscite dal mezzo del mio popolo, voi e i figli d'Israele, e andate a servire il Signore, secondo quanto avete detto.
32 And take your flocks and herds as you have asked, and go! And bless me too!'	32 Prendete anche il vostro gregge e il vostro armento, come avete detto, andate e benedite anche me".
33 The Egyptians urged the people on and hurried them out of the country because, they said,'Otherwise we shal al be dead.'	33 Gli Egiziani fecero forza sul popolo per mandarli via in fretta dal paese, perché dicevano: "Moriamo tutti quanti".
34 So the people carried off their dough stil unleavened, their bowls wrapped in their cloaks, on theirshoulders.	34 Il popolo portò via la sua pasta prima che lievitasse, con la loro madia avvolta nelle loro vesti sulle loro spalle.
35 The Israelites did as Moses had told them and asked the Egyptians for silver and golden jewel ery,and clothing.	35 I figli d'Israele fecero come aveva detto Mosè e chiesero agli Egiziani oggetti d'argento, oggetti d'oro e vestiti.
36 Yahweh made the Egyptians so much impressed with the people that they gave them what theyasked. So they despoiled the Egyptians.	36 Il Signore fece trovare grazia al popolo agli occhi degli Egiziani, che accolsero le loro domande. E spogliarono gli Egiziani.
37 The Israelites left Rameses for Succoth, about six hundred thousand on the march-men, that is, notcounting their families.	37 I figli d'Israele partirono da Ramses verso Succot in seicentomila a piedi, solo uomini, senza contare i figli.
38 A mixed crowd of people went with them, and flocks and herds, quantities of livestock.	38 Anche una gran folla salì con loro, greggi e armenti, una gran quantità di bestiame.
39 And with the dough which they had brought from Egypt they baked unleavened cakes, because thedough had not risen, since they had been driven out of Egypt without time to linger or to prepare food forthemselves.	39 E fecero cuocere la pasta, che avevano portato via dall'Egitto, schiacciate azzime, poiché non avevano lievito: li avevano infatti scacciati dall'Egitto e non avevano potuto attardarsi; non si erano fatte neppure le provviste di viaggio.
40 The time that the Israelites spent in Egypt was four hundred and thirty years.	40 Il soggiorno dei figli d'Israele in Egitto fu di quattrocentotrent'anni.
41 And on the very day the four hundred and thirty years ended, al Yahweh's armies left Egypt.	41 Alla fine dei quattrocentotrent'anni, proprio in quel giorno, tutte le schiere del Signore uscirono dalla terra d'Egitto.
42 The night when Yahweh kept vigil to bring them out of Egypt must be kept as a vigil in honour ofYahweh by al Israelites, for al generations.	42 Una notte di veglia fu per il Signore, quando li fece uscire dalla terra d'Egitto: questa deve essere una notte di veglia in onore del Signore per tutti i figli d'Israele nelle loro generazioni.
43 Yahweh said to Moses and Aaron, 'This is the ritual for the Passover: no alien may eat it,	43 Il Signore disse a Mosè e ad Aronne: "Questa è la prescrizione della Pasqua: nessuno straniero ne mangerà.
44 but any slave bought for money may eat it, once you have circumcised him.	44 Ma ogni schiavo acquistato con denaro, dopo averlo circonciso, potrà mangiarne.
45 No stranger and no hired servant may eat it.	45 L'avventizio e il mercenario non ne mangeranno.
46 It must be eaten in one house alone; you wil not take any of the meat out of the house; nor may youbreak any of its bones.	46 Si mangerà in una sola casa: non si porterà la carne fuori di casa. Non gli si spezzerà nessun osso.
47 'The whole community of Israel must keep it.	47 Tutta la comunità d'Israele la celebrerà.
48 Should a stranger residing with you wish to keep the Passover in honour of Yahweh, al the males ofhis household must be circumcised: he wil then be al owed to keep it and wil count as a citizen of the country.But no uncircumcised person may eat it.	48 Se un forestiero dimorante presso di te vuole celebrare la Pasqua del Signore, si circoncida ogni suo maschio, e allora si avvicini per celebrarla, e sarà come un nativo del paese: ma nessun incirconciso ne potrà mangiare.
49 The same law will apply to the citizen and the stranger resident among you.'	49 Ci sarà una sola legge per il nativo e per lo straniero che risiede in mezzo a voi".
50 The Israelites all did as Yahweh had ordered Moses and Aaron,	50 I figli d'Israele fecero come il Signore aveva ordinato a Mosè e ad Aronne. Fecero così.
51 and that same day Yahweh brought the Israelites out of Egypt in their armies.	51 Proprio in quel giorno il Signore fece uscire i figli d'Israele dalla terra d'Egitto, secondo le loro schiere.
